That voice, that violin, that song still gives me chills after nearly 40 years!!! Gary West, Van McClain and the rest of the band were the most underrated band to ever take the stage. So many great songs and memories

Discovered this cassette at a thrift shop today and now I already love it, very underrated band. Reminds me of a lot of melodic rock and hair metal bands of that era. Like a mix of Night Ranger Survivor and Y&T

i think i hear dthem first in around mid 70,s and the song that hooked me was (LAST CHANCE) WHEN THEY DO IT LIVE AND SOME OF THEIR HEAVIER TUNES THEY ALWAYS SHOW THEIR GREAT ABILITIES AND MUSICIANSHIP.AND THEIR MUSIC HA SA CERTAIN MARK OR FRESHNESS THAT TAKES YOU WITH THEM YEAH I KNEW VAN MCCLAINS DAUGHTER A BIT IN KANSAS WHAT A COOL HOUS EWITH STUDIO AND SUNBURST LES PAUL.HMMMM!

It's my birthday today. ~ The year is 2024; just about four decades since this album was recorded, then released in 1985. I've been playing it quite a bit this summer, as I do every year.. I listen to a lot of music, from various genres, but 'Silent Scream' is still my primary go-to from the time that the Spring air starts heating up until the Fall leaves begin turning color. 'Summer Sun' and the other songs on the album have always allowed me to become the young, impressionable young man I was many years ago, driving to the Jersey Shore with my girlfriend (aka "the one who got away")... even if only in my mind. I'm very familiar with the unfortunate circumstances that cost Gary West and the rest of the band their chance to reach the superstar status they worked so hard for when creating Silent Scream. I've learned many lessons over the course of my life; one of them is the fact that ultimate success in any field requires the perfect combination of ability, hard work, timing, and perhaps most importantly, good luck (or at least, the avoidance of any bad luck). From one Gary (me) to another Gary (Mr. West), I hope you know that there are many listeners of your music who realize "what might have been"... or, to be more accurate, what SHOULD HAVE been.

I still have the original vinyl for the first 5 albums. Sometimes great bands don’t get commercial success. They were one of the best in the 80’s.

I grew up in Michigan listening to W4, WLLZ & WRIF. I thought these guys were HUGE! There are like 5 BIG HITS off of this record played all of the time. "Hollywood" & "Last Chance" got played to death and I am glad. I have three cassettes in a closet. I thought they had over 12 songs I could name as HITS. I always loved the violin. Each player was a virtuoso. They blew away Journey -- better singers, harmonies, songs and players. They should have been the headliners for anyone they opened for in my opinion.

One of my favorite bands of all time. This snippet of a song was always one that I listened to but always wanted it to keep going. So melodic. Such an underrated rock band. Miss them.
