Spotlight Watch Review
США
Добавлен 24 ноя 2015
My goal is to delve into the beauty of timekeeping & wristwatches. I am selling absolutely NOTHING here, and am not telling you to buy from any particular retailer. I will however give you my personal opinion of the "worth" vs MSRP and average selling prices, but where you buy your new watch is left up to you and your own research. Enjoy!
Big but balanced diver - RZE Aspirare Titanium sexiness
If you know me well enough by now, you know why I had to get this Aspirare. A men’s watch actually made in a men’s size!! 44mm but oh so lightweight and easy to wear being made from pure titanium. But the high end attributes don’t end there. Sapphire, Superluminova, nicely detailed textured dial, gliding micro adjustment clasp, and more.

Is this slim Christopher Ward the best daily wear diver?
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.28 дней назад
Christopher Ward is often talked about among fanatics of microbrands, even though they’ve exploded with growth that technically puts them outside of microbrand territory. Some have a strong passion for them based on the quality, fit and finish, and the detractors mainly focus on higher than average pricing but never having experienced one for themselves in person means that their opinion can be...
The most amazing Titanium watch you don’t know about!
Просмотров 960Месяц назад
I spent the duration of this video preventing myself from squealing from excitement like a little child. I am a massive fan of Mechanical Exploration and love the one I bought a little over a month ago (and reviewed) in black PVD stainless steel. Now I have the chance to come out here and show the upcoming fully titanium version of the MS1001, and I’m pretty stoked about it. Along with the revi...
Aragon Divetank 40mm is a 500m beast

Aragon has the right idea, take popular models and make them in a regular and a large size so that nobody feels left out when they see a design that they like. The Divetank is a square diver offered in both 40mm and in 48mm. For the little guys and the monsters out there. Powered by the popular SII NH35 movement and exhibiting a blast of vibrant color with its teal sunray finished dial, it’s an...

Another home run in my opinion, the Dumas GMT by Spinnaker has a stunning degree of finish work that simply is t captured by photography, making this a wonderful surprise in-hand. They offer so many incredible color choices in all of their watches, so it can be challenging to choose just one. Stalingrad Defender - Titanium
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.Месяц назад
Stalingrad Watches. It’s an unusual name choice for a watch brand, especially one from Hong Kong, but it’s not a disappointing watch for the price. At $299, you’re getting all titanium construction with a Fluororubber strap and a sapphire crystal on a 200 meter diver. The dial is honestly the next big reason you’re buying this aside from the titanium. It’s got a wonderful topography. I’d this a...
Winfield Watch Co. MT5 Parabellum- The watch that’ll put hair on your…..
Просмотров 5152 месяца назад
There are a ton of poser watches out there. Trying to be “tactical-cool”, look rugged and beefy, look like they live up to the toughness of our everyday gear, but then you get it in your hand and the case feels hollow because it’s to lightweight, the case size is made for a girl, and the lume sucks. But they’ll have a cool name on it and a cool story behind it. Well, Winfield Watch Company has ...
Aragon Watch Silverjet

Aragon Watch is a long-standing brand which originated over 3 decades ago under its previous branding. Over that time, they have developed their own unique DNA, and while so many brands have cannibalized each others designs, Wing Liang, the founder and designer has focused on creating watches that speak a different language altogether. The Silverjet originally debuted in a massive 50mm version,...
The cyberpunk watch: MECEXP (Mechanical Exploration) MS1001. Linear Flyback.

As a collector, we often search out quirky, unique and complex ideas that a casual watch wearer wouldn’t even consider. They’re not always practical and they’re not styled to be “for everybody”, but they’re fun and excite something inside of us because of innovation, design or craziness in general. This watch, the MS-1001 by Mechanical Exploration is ALL of that in one watch. A truly unique and...

Congrats! Good video! Since you asked: Steeldive SD1970 Cap. Willard homage is arguably the MVP of AliEx homages. Got one AND a Seiko SPB151J. Already took them both to apneia diving sessions under 16 to 20 meters deep in the sea without a problem. Of course it's shallow waters, but goes to show that for the average recreational swim the SD is very reliable. BTW it is worth noting that the WR is measured in ATM (not meters), so even if you don't go very deep it is important to know the watch endures pressure (relevant if you'll swim in the sea with hard waves and vigourous strokes or if you'll practice any sort of aquatic sports - hence subject to impacts on the water.)
I just can't fathom the enthusiasm for this bland simulacrum of established diving watch brands (boil a Submariner with a Seamaster and add a spoonful of Tudor Black Bay, put it in a skinny case with a too large diameter face/bezel, add a silly logo and presto, here is your CW)
It’s ok, you don’t have to understand. Not everyone needs to like the same things and that’s ok.
If you have a chance, you should try to use the watch with the bracelet from the 328. I bought it a few years ago and it's really beautiful on the wrist. I have tried it with the original black crocodile strap and I also bought the burgundy from the 320 and the dark brown from the 351. Beautiful. All of them. Perhaps the best is the burgundy.
No way you could know this but you are totally responsable for me becoming a collector. Late night channel surfing back in 2009 stopped at a shopping network and you talked me into an Invicta two-tone Ocean reef. 15 years and dozens and dozens of watches later here we are! Been a CW Fanboy for a few years now. Their prices have been creeping up recently but the quality is and has always been there. Great review, Thumbs up Given!👍🏽
Wow man, thanks for commenting and letting me know. I’m happy to have been a small part of your journey and I hope it’s been fun for you!
Black PVD/yellow here :)
Ahh, the watch songs.. love it! I own an Android, one of my late dad’s pieces- a huge big a** diver with a beautiful tourbillon(🤷🏼♂️). It weighs way too much yet it is still a looker on the wrist. I really like the design language of this piece(on this review), brutish futuristic metal and an amazing dial. Mega cool👌🏻😎
So great to see you back!
Song? 🔥

@@SpotlightWatchReview Great work, it really adds to the video. Lookin forward to the full review. 😄
Those watches are $740 dollars on their website.
Keep checking for their sales. I guess I caught it at the right time. They often do big sales.
No grey bezel on black rubber shot s? 😢
It looked truly awful in that configuration to be honest 😂
Very cool movement! SS for me just because I’m a sucker for venom green (ie my logo). Good stuff as always brother 👊🏻
Good looking watch with nice included options. Build quality for RZE always seems to be on point from their first watch years ago. On this one, the only thing I might have changed on the lume is making the second hand tip green lume. It matches the trapezoidal markers and it makes more sense to just have the minute hand and timing bezel be blue lume as those 2 elements work together for timing. A very minor knit pick.
42-45mm is spot on for us large wristed American men.
Are you talking about the Seiko SRP313 at the end?
Just got the Titanium version. I don't think I'm taking it off for the next few months (and I own like 50 other watches that I love).
Sinn U50 is 41mm across, 11.15mm thick, 500m WR.
Ok? I don’t know why you told us that. The only Sinn discussed in this video is my U1, which is 44mm 14.7mm thick and 1000m water resistant.
@@SpotlightWatchReview Because you mentioned that the watch in review was so thin and compared it to a 1000m watch that is 14.7 mm thick when you could have said Sinn offers a 500m watch that is 11.15mm thick, but of course that would not make the watch under review's 11.5 mm thickness so great.
@@EddyV-v5mok, I see your point. But I was only going to compare it to what I normally wear, and why I liked how slim the CW is in comparison. And I don’t have a U50.
This is a very thorough review and well shot. I look at CW watches often and I'm trying to decide which model to spend my modest budget on.
I appreciate that, Thank you. I gotta say, you can’t go wrong with anything in the Lightcatcher case. For me, I know I need one of these and absolutely must own a Lumiere, assuming the slightly smaller size won’t turn me off.
Ah the lumiere is smaller 😊
Unfortunately, it is. But only by 1mm, so hopefully it won’t play like a woman size 40mm. Because I love how the Lumiere looks and love that it’s titanium.
damn black on black is soo nice
Got a 42mm with the blue dial this summer. Love it! Wears so well.
Try filming with a lower frame rate this looks odd.
@@alexhindleybts plays fine on my phone and tv. Must be your connection. Its recorded at 25fps
The biggest thing with this brand is the number of times they’ve rebranded logos. It’s like they’re always in an identity crises. But they make nice watches.
NH 34 is a caller gmt and not a traveler, as you said..
i have to agree with you..this watch is unique..im planning to buy one..i just wish it was a solar watch..just my opinion..im leaning towards the titanium but the steel one is what i may go with..but all in all..a very nice watch..
I have a purple monster!
That’s Awesome! Those were cool JDMs.
You should do a review of the new JiangHun Deep Challenger JH0201. It looks amazing, part original, part homage, amazing finish. I tried ordering one yesterday...but my bank didn't let me...have to make the looong talk to the bank.
I think this is better than a lot of the SPB range from Seiko in this same price point.
I completely agree. Even if Seiko started aligning their bezels, CW would still have them beat lol
Awesome Fleuss review that is having me put one in my cart. You MUST get a Piccard! It turned me on to Spinnaker as the Fleuss did for you. Sure, the Piccard is a beast on wrist but it is so so cool.
Thank you for the encouragement, my Piccard actually arrived a few weeks ago. I put up a pic or two on my Instagram. Review will be coming soon, but I want to get some more time on the wrist before I tell people to grab one or run away. It is a beast and I need to see how it wears in a lot of various situations lol Enjoy your Fleuss!
Thanks for the video. CW does make a nice watch. Yes, at a "small" premium. Warranty is better than most, so the small premium and what you get is worth it in the end. I have a limited edition of 100 of their Sealander C63 GMT. I'd love this diver. Cheers!!!
Well said and Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Congrats on your snag, that’s super cool.
Subbed! We at Harris watches from Germany have also just started. We are different though, one needs some sense of humor to come up with and appreciate a theme like we just did. But we had to.🙂Regards.
Thank you
I love the song, nice video
Who's doing the music on these videos?! I absolutely love the review-specific songs haha.
lol Thank you. I write the lyrics and the songs are AI performances.
Hi! Which one would you say is more legible to read the numerals at a glance. The SS or the TI version? Given the difference of the colored and superluminova of the SS vs the brushed numerals on the TI. And what about in low light with the backlight activated? Would you say one performs better over the other as well as far as reading the time?
Definitely the steel versions with the colored numerals, in all situations.
The numbers glow on the yellow one.
I will get mine (titanium version) soon. Can’t wait. :D Wow. I was considering buying a Sinn U50. I thought the bad lume on my Sinn 556 A was because it is not a dive watch. But if the lume on their dive watches is also so bad, I should consider not buying it. O_o 🕐⚙️🍸
Just ordered one!
I Couldn’t agree with you more…I get sick and tired of Watch reviewers saying “Oh this Watch is oversized at 44mm and you have to have a massive wrist to pull it off” Absolute BS! There’s no right or wrong, Just wear what you want no one gives a shit anyways. 🙏
Exactly. It’s a shame that so many microbrands cower to the mob mentality and change what they do to appease the loudest voices.
Nice! I have the Yellow / PVD variant, and it is Awesome!! As an owner for about 2 weeks, this Ti version might be next for me! ❤
Oh if only you'd have kept your yellow 1st gen SKZ203. limited edition of 300 and fetching over $3000. Great video btw and that 781 is a beautiful NOS piece from your friend. Ive owned every model ever released.

I have three Helms. Vanuatu and two khuraburi. I gave one Khuraburi to my son and he doesn't take it off. My biggest problem is which one to wear, so I wear both every day. One in the morning, the other in the evening, and only the replacement of the leather fabric belt... everything suits them. It would be easier for me if they had one model. And waiting... Every second is worth it.
ISO certifided for this price ??????
I have both of the SKX monsters. The SKX779 and the SKX781. They are mainstays in my collection. I don't have the SKZ or SRP monsters (yet). I have added the MM300 ti/steel ratcheting clasp to mine. Makes wearing them very nice with on the fly adjust. Cheers!!
That winding mech is so cool. Never seen that before. May have to go buy this watch just...well, just because! LOL
That watch has wrist presence. Cheers!!
Too bad the Air Blue aviator brand is gone.
They have the best muted color ways going! Good stuff brother 👊🏻
Love it🔥
I just received their bronze version of this watch. Only complaint: Should use clear AR on the crystal. I don't mind the 8215. Mine hacks. Cheers!!!
I loved that intro song. I had a Dumas on the mesh bracelet a few years ago. Best "built" mesh bracelet, worst "engineered" mesh bracelet. The keeper and the tail of the strap always flopped around. Always caught on everything. Cheers!!!
Ohhhh. That’s good info, Thank you for that. I guess I won’t bother trying to find and purchase that bracelet for an extra option, that would drive me nuts.
There are RUclips videos on that bracelet.@@SpotlightWatchReview
