Nothing like home...although much has changed people change its still home!❤
A segment of 'Kentucky Fried Movie' was also filmed in the Rialto.
The last one is almost hidden away I love these Air rais sirens as growing up they were subtle reminders of a time before I was boen snd most hardly know they're there. 😢
I think they should restore it
france has some cool sirens, sounds like silent hill doesn't it? Other countries you can hear monthly siren tests: Germany, Austria, USA, Switzerland, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and i believe new zealand tests their tsunami sirens but it doesn't sound like air raid sirens it sounds a little different. But if you live by any fire stations they have an air raid siren usually for fire brigades. And any fire station tests their fire brigade siren at 12:00 i think monthly. Serbia has siren tests once a month, Croatia as well, Romania, etc. Israel well, they go off pretty much every single day multiple times a day for the last god knows how long because of the gaza and israel/palestine and israel war. it's been happening for years. But israel sounds their sirens 3 times a year for yom hashoah and yom hazikaron. Once for 2 minutes on yom hashoah which is holocaust rememberance day, and twice on yom hazikaron which is the actual rememberance day (one at 8pm sunday evening for one minute and one on monday morning at 10am for two minutes.) During these times everyone has to stop driving and get out of their cars and stand quietly and remember the ones who died in the holocaust, everyone has to stop. Like everybody even if you're walking. If you get caught not doing so, you'll get in trouble. And of course, Ukraine. Air raid sirens sound multiple times throughout the day for the last 2 years because of the russo-ukrainian war, which actually started in 2014, they have been fine for years and then February 2022 came and it started again this time worse than ever. Russia also tests their siren alert system monthly. Here in BC canada we don't have air raid sirens. However Vancouver used to, but unfortunately most were taken down but some are still left up but are inactive. The only thing we get monthly is the monthly nationwide alert test on our phones and stuff.
The siren @ 9:20 is a Mobil derecto
2:16 that is a fedelcode mach 7
The #4 siren is an hor silo drone😊
South Pas is small town America in the middle of Los Angeles. I was fortunate to live on El Centro by the Library in the 90s
the house I grew up in was right behind the Barranger studio bldg.
screw the missionarys.
I grew up in so Pas on el Centro ave. 1970s. just the best ever,
Wow....I remember being on vacation here with my bf and his mom and seeing these, all because of him showing me them, LOL
I also got a video of an SD-10 in alert, fast wail ruclips.net/video/hA0wn2cBO0o/видео.htmlsi=eeQvKFjy9P5IbZHf
There's an insanely rare siren that you should see one day, the EOWS-408, it's all the way in Herrin, Illinois there is 3 left standing in the USA, in Herrin, I got a video of one, they look absolutely incredible.
He should also se the EOWS 812’s Bay city MI
This video became a 500-SHTT day
Model 5 and Sd10 500t
I am glad you explained how they straightened Spring Street. I have seen many early photos taken from this corner and seeing the curve in the street bugged and confused me.
Los Angeles had city street cars ( Los Angeles Railroad which in 1944 became Los Angeles Transit Line until 1963 ) and also interurbans which were operated by the Pacific Electric ( the Red cars ). I believe that tower was manned and served as a sort of traffic signal for the rail cars which converged at that intersection.
2:50 4 is cut down model7
Visit crompton they have a Chrysler Air raid siren near the water municipal thing
11:52 you accidentally put up the middle finger 💀
2:26 this is a siro I know that because the siren maps of los Angelas show that it’s a siro drone ok?
No I Don’t think so
you should check out the air raid sirens in San Jose
The Siren Is Most Likely A Federal Model 1 Or Federal Model 3. Other Than That, I Do Not Know What These Sirens Could Be.
Honestly probably wouldn't be difficult to get working again, looks like it just uses an Onan BF engine which isn't too tricky to get parts for. If the motor is totally trashed from sitting for years there are still many Onan BF series engines around to replace it with.
2t22
Does these sirens test
The last time these sirens were tested was in 1986 (if memory serves me well)
Wow! That’s crazy. Good thing these things are still sitting here then!
I believe the city felt it would be too expensive to remove them. So, we get these pieces of Cold War history to see and appreciate.
Yea! I agree at least we get to see the rarities of this stuff who knows how long they could be here before removal
the 2 siren is an aca allertor with engine and the uper output cut of
Do they test these?
Not since the late 80s. They don't even have power connected.
@@DayTrippingAdventurer oh ok! Thanks for letting me know
Great tour
5:33 that’s phone like, not a power line. You can see the 3 thicker wires are cut at the insulators.
Thomas Jones is a 7th great grandfather. It’s so great to find this. Thanks for your work. Waiting for part 3
Wow. Its great that you can track back that far. Part 3 is up!
that was no weather balloon
Las angles had 3 mobil directos but one of them is removed, and 2 remain. The one you see in this video and there is one ontop of a building somewhere without the horn on the top
The 3rd siren is a Scream Master siren made by La Verne company R.J Zievers. Came in either 6/8 or 9 ports. Only one recording has caught of these going off and it’s the single-toned one. They also made fans to prevent crops from freezing and they made a dual-horn siren in Merced.
Is the Merced unit still there?
Carroll Avenue, including the house with the scaffolding, was used to make the Dr. Heckyll and Mr. Jive music video by Men at Work.
