We visited mid June this year just before the recent fire. It seems conditions can change quickly at Lassen - so among the parks where checking the park's website comes in handy just before arrival. We had to quickly shift our itinerary for visiting when we learned the day before arrival about numerous road closures in the park. Happy travels!

Oh how wonderful. The views are just spectacular from the property. We have many great memories from our visit.

We really haven't kept it in direct sun. It is usually in our truck, trailer, or at the campground if there is a bear box, we keep it in there. Happy travels with your new cooler!

Oh I think I saw early in the season.

We visited mid June - so we landed there before the unfortunate recent fire. We too need to return to experience the park’s south side which was still covered by 4 feet of snow during our visit. Thanks for watching!

We try to fit in as much as we can when we're not watching grandkids. Hope all is well Steve.

In the Bombay Beach community (which is only a few blocks), we drove down to 5th street and there was a parking area at the beach area. We parked our car there and then walked around the neighborhood. We explored a bit of Salton Sea both from this area plus from the visitor center area for Salton Sea.

@@ThePlacesWhereWeGo OK Thank You when you say visitors center you mean the visitors center up north from Bombay Beach like hmmmm 30 miles also what town did you stay in or were you in a camper? Im thinking about the Salton sea or Borrego Springs or 29 Psalms Borrego Springs seems $$ Thank YOU Again

We will be back

We've only used this generator with propane. We have a quick connect on our propane tank that we attach to the generator. The only extra steps are connecting the propane hose before starting the generator, and then disconnecting after we power down the generator. Hopefully we're not missing a step but after several years, this is what we do and the generator still hums along nicely.

We found it generally safe, particularly near the Visitor Center. If you make your way to Bombay Beach, you might find that a bit sketchy. You can spend a day driving around the lake and exploring nearby areas.
