Back in 1980- 81 we got 65 for a coyote , 43 for average coons ,75 for badger n over 100 for fox . Now your lucky to see 3 dollars for a coyote ,2 for coon . If i shoot a coyote its not worth walkin out to get it , just wanna keep em under control n be able to raise animals on the farm without losin 3/4 of em to coyotes

Can you use the fleshing scraps for dirt hole sets next fall if you were to jar and freeze them? Maybe fox or coyote? Fisher sets also maybe?

See other people tie smaller bait sticks onto a dead pole I’m assuming so the beavers go right for the bait up where the snares are instead of underneath, does this seem like useless extra work or is it worth it ?

Try this: Put the loose jaw towards the pole. Set the chair so that the trap pan is 10" under the ice and adjust the chair so that the loose jaw just misses the bottom bait stick. Wire the trap to the chair with fine wire or twine to the beaver can pull it off but secure the chain well to the trap stake.

Tumble that skin in powdered corn cobs and it will be soft, clean and smell good. Do it once a year to keep it i. Good shape.

Don't know if you still tumble but use the finer ground corn cobbs, it's more like a powered. You don't need water or detergent they will come out clean, soft, and smelling good. I grew up on a fox and mink ranch. We ran the tumbler for 15 to 20 minutes.

Its hard to keep up with the changes. For decades they were teaching us to use conibear type traps because it was more humane. Now they are going against kill sets. My body grip traps or the cubbie boxes have to be replaced every time the law changes.

How long does it last? I mean if you have a bunch left over at the end of the season, does it lose its strength or would it still be good for next season in a sealed jar?

Joe Holland very good guy been subbed to his channel for a few years now. Love his ice fishing content. The ground don't seem to be boggy in that area. When l was in Maine back in the 80's l remember from Gold Road back to Rainbow Lake then from Rainbow Lake down the Appalachian trail to Mt. Katahdin was nothing but boggy ground. That's cool how you found each other👍

I really enjoy the podcast and these videos Jeremiah, and I live vicariously through you and your trapline. Here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan we have a conservative catch rate and a very short season for Fisher and Marten, thanks for sharing your time on the line.
