Welcome! Join my family and I on our adventures in the Last Frontier!
Running the Garand in Kit
I took the Garand out for a spin. I dont get many ranges to myself but i managed to this time. This was by no means formal, no shot timer, just getting a feel for everything.
I loaded a couple dummy rounds randomly to practice malfunctions, they weren't jams.
Definitely need to work on reloading from rigger pouches, and drawing the pistol from a pistol belt.
Are these "drills" historically accurate? No, but they were fun!
Also, video credit goes to my outstanding wife, Auddy!

WWII 82nd Airborne Medic Impression
Просмотров 11 тыс.6 лет назад
In this video I detail my impression of a Medic in G co. 3-505 82nd Airborne during and immediately after D-DAY, WWII. It's still a work in progress like all impressions. Any tips and advice, comment below! Instagram: DapperDoughboy
"Gherkin" LOL. They're not wearing pickles!
What about the overcoat?--It got cold in France!
Love your stuff man❤
bane of my existence is losing arrows.
May I send you my doomsday shtf arrow I call them the deathly hollows I want you to try them compared to yours I got down my cost of war arrows to about $1.15 an arrow an I shoot 36inches on my warbow I'm new to archery but I'm good 😅kinda dove in face first
Very interesting and well put together
Philippine Military equipment are all U.S. MADE AND OF U.S. INFLUENCE INCLUDING FIREARMS, AND COLT 1911 AND SMITH AND WESSONS, MOSSBERGS, REMINGTONS, ETC.
Very sexy 0:33
America’s military contribution to WWI was minimal, to the point of being inconsequential. Of far greater impact was American finance because Britain and France would have run out of money by 1917 if it wasn’t for American loans.
Where is your issued side arm, Colt 45?
Most Paratrooper medics in the ETO during WW2 went into combat unarmed
We’re the stocking cap and scarf issued? Is there a designation for them?
With all due respect for your efforts and video. Wars are ugly. My first name is Malcolm. second name is George. they both died in France. Highland Scottish Soldiers. I srill have the death penny for George Fraser. Aye?Rule britania. what a waste of life.👎
The war the 'Zipper' missed.
Outstanding video. Everyone wants to do the 82nd and 101st re-enactments. Have you ever thought about doing a re-enactment of the 221st Airborne Medical Company from the 11th Airborne Division in the Pacific. One of the few Airborne units to have enemy Airborne dropped on their hospital position. The 11th AB also has a history equal to the 101st. One of their most notable was the Los Banos Raid saving a large number of civilian POWs. It didn't make the papers because a Marine flag raising was on the front page. The movie "The Raid" was about the Rangers saving military POWs and the Los Banos raid was almost a duplicate only saving civilians. The medics played an important part in helping the civilians recover from the Japanese neglect.
I thought those were flies at first 😰
Is it me or the mosquitoes just seem like they are out of control more so than ever almost everywhere
Yeah they definitely have the numbers advantage this year
If you are seeing this comment, say a prayer for a fallen Doughboy.
Lindos uniformes
Heroes del tiempo
Scary shit, great video
stanced up all fruity like
Beautiful craftsmanship, keep it up
Appreciate it! A how-to video on their construction is in the works right now
Who made the bow? Yew tends to be expensive.
Ravenbeak Natureworks
@@DapperDoughboy That makes sense; I've heard good things about their bows. Have you tried shooting wearing a mail shirt?
@@alexanderflack566 that’s the plan! I’ve got a 15th century one, I’m just working on a thinner arming doublet to wear under it currently.
@@DapperDoughboy Good plan, I can't wait to see how it turns out. I'm not sure whether to be worried about the sleeves catching the string or not, having had that happen to me with a t-shirt in heavy wind before. Mail shouldn't catch the wind like fabric, though, so maybe it won't be a problem even if the sleeve is fairly loose.
Need to get all this gear to cure my loneliness
where did u get the net
Did the 3rd battalion have the cannon ball in d day and operation market garden?
A+
Good stuff, thanks for sharing and preserving history.
Hello! I’ve started buying some own gear of mine, but i have a question- can i put my gas mask into my haversack? I’ve heard that it is possible, but not many soldiers do it due to the awkwardness of it. Thank you!
No doughboy in their sane mind would put it in such an inaccessible location when their life depended on being able to put it on quickly. It’s supposed to go in the normal gas mask bag.
Where can I find the uniform
My grandfather fought in the Great War and was wounded in France… thank you for this video! He died two years before I was born…all I have is pictures and his Purple Heart.
That's look so good. I have similar but myis British B5 and I wear them daily
Are these the repros? How did you get them looking nice and brown?
This kind of boot was designed to be "dubbed" meaning a type of waterproofing grease is spread into it. This causes it to become darker, but it also makes it last longer.
Are the ww2 bandolers the same as the ww1 version or is there slight difference
I can't believe this video only has 39k views, I thought it would have at least 100k! What! You're so underated
JERALEE?😳 Jman
Over dare!😁 Jman
The American -British Muzzle loader-
Wore another bloke's trousers, made lumps in them and tossed them back in his sack 🤣
pretty cool stuff. Good job.
WPG central europa?😳 AEF supply back in the 90s had some quality items only problem if you ordered a custom uniform the wait time was close to 2 years!😂 Jman
Awesome breakdown!
The mandarin collars and breeches are unappealing, I never understood why the USA went with those.
Reminds me of British muzzleloaders. Good video.
82nd airborne impression: kinda pushing it 82nd airborne medic impression: really pushing it😂
Nice vid bro! 👍
90 percent repo
No fucking shit, you think I’m going to take original uniforms and boots out to the field? Use your brain, Paul.
You have just restored my faith in re-enacting a medic. So far almost every single medic I have ever seen has been... well frankly put... f'in awful. However this is really good. Because of my known hatred of medic re-enactors one of the guys in my unit asked me to review your video. I did, and was so pleasantly surprised. Great job! Only two things I would improve on. 1. please loose the parachute scarf. Its just so over done and ruins your impression and makes you look like one of 'those guys' and not someone who actually has a fantastic impression. 2. Your piping on the garrison cap should be light blue for infantry. Your in an infantry unit, medics in infantry units are still infantry. If you were from a medical unit, like 326th Abn Medical Company attached to the 101st, then you'd wear medical piping. If your a medic from the 101st, then you'd wear infantry piping. I only used 101st units to explain as I know FA about the real specifics of the 82nd. Great video, great impression, you have restored my faith!
Cringe. -Doc
Very good presentation, I like the idea of the American and British soldiers exchanging equipment if they found the others was better than their own as with the rain cape. Friends and allies looking out for one another under shared adversity. Just how it should be. Well Done.
Wonderful video.
