I just got on a and expecting it to arrive soon. Can't wait to compare it to the RS-B965's I've been using. Something tells me It'll beet the Technics but probably not the Panasonics versions of the 965.

Did Pioneer ever make a 3-head "digital" Dolby S compact cassette deck that included their 20-bit Legato Link technology. In other words: a bit of cassette AI before there was even AI. Something that would turn the analog signal to digital in order to make calculated on-the-fly improvements to the sound such as bringing up the top-end if it felt it was too rolled off, or raising the resolution in some mysterious way. The collision of Dolby S, a solid 3-head dual capstan well made transport, and Pioneer's digital voodoo seems like it would make for a truly amazing deck. But did that deck ever exist?

Nice device with horisontal load.I got the same recently.

I have the KX-670. Great deck all-round. But I would trade it for the Pioneer in a heartbeat because one can see the actual cassette through the window while playing. I hate when the cassette isn't visible. I also like the more square look of the Pioneer better as well as the bigger transport buttons and the blue meters.

Need professional advise, please. I own mint GXC-715D and only dissatisfaction is 15.000 Hz response on CrO2 tapes. This deck is 16.000. If you have listen both? If 740 sound notably better on high end? Thank you.

I have the 07D and it does have digital jacks. Both doors are powered and you can record on both sides. Its still trucking along but was just sold.

I have the same one. I am very satisfied with playback. But for ff or rewind if the cassette is big like 90" it starts to slow and bearly wind till the end of the tape. One of the belts is responsible for that. Question is which one. Could you please help me on this ? By the way great video. I am a kind of pioneer collector too.

Welches Gerät wurde hier als Audioquelle verwendet? Interessant wäre es noch mit Dolby B/C gewesen. Ich persönlich steuere nie über 0 dB aus, weil man messtechnisch sehen kann, dass dann der Klirrfaktor doch ansteigt. Das mag bei Pop/Rock usw. noch angehen, aber bei klassischer Musik klingt das dann nicht so gut. Ich selber habe das SONY TC-K590, bei dem die Calibration allerdings nicht richtig funktioniert und der Capstan-Motor gelegentlich Geräusche macht sowie 2 Geräte von TECHNICS, allerdings nur das RS-BX606.

My thoughts (3:41) Sony is not only a nicer unit, overall, but the sound is warmer and reproduces better bass. Plus, the Sony offers Auto Calibration and Dolby S, both features are unmatched by the Technics. Not sure the price points on both, but the Sony offers a bigger display, a clearer VU meter and offers RMS (which is more useful on a CD player, but still nice to see). It seems on the Technics you are paying extra for the open/close feature and dual recording, which are nice to have but not having Dolby S or any calibration is a big loss here. I am guessing that the Sony is a couple years newer in production. If not, Technics clearly dropped some critical playback features for dual record and open/close decks.

Nice, i like the design a lot (the cassette doors are beautifully done) and the fact that this is a ES deck with Dolby S. I have a TC-K909ES and i was looking for this deck on ebay just for curiosity and sadly there aren't many on sale (if there are any)

I found this deck fully working and in great physical condition for only $3 at a "goodwill savers"

Apprezzo molto entrambi,ma il CT-737 ha una resa di suono ancora piu' pulita,nel senso di trasparenza... poi devo dire che il CT-737 e' nato in una generazione per la pioneer leggendaria,in quella generazione pioneer ha riprogettato tutto il suo catalogo da zero,rivoluzionato tutto!
