How about a tough question: this unit has a 1-7 temp dial unlike most. If its set on 7 (max cool) does it cycle on and off when the room reaches a cold temp? Or does it just run constantly keeping the room ice cold like the old school wood grain window unit we all wish were still around? Please advise.

Beware , This company Lucid and its parent company Malouf have no customer service; and will not speak to you. If you call all of their listed telephone numbers (I tried 3), you will get automated message to text them and then wait 3-5 days for a response. Ridiculous. I just bought one of these, so far I'm very happy with it, on max settings it cools very well, even during an extreme heat wave with brutal humidity. But I have a question I can't find an answer to; I don't see a vent switch/knob anywhere, when it's on fan, is it in fact bringing in air from outside?
