Beavers are Happier than ever!! Timberborn Update 6
We build a new monument, which is Fountain of Joy for our beavers. This is making them happier and more satisfied. And we are working toward the new Monument from the Update 6, Earth Cultivator. Earth Cultivator is the biggest and most expensive building in Timberborn and that is our end goal

Hi, I have same problems with waves and I think its caused by the sluices, beacuse they open/close with relation to the downstream depth. Thus they open/ close very quickly causing waves. Anyway i like your videos, keep it up. Cheers
I have a chamber I put a lot of bad water pumps and then when the bad water comes I can just open the chamber up and then after when the good water comes I can just open both sides a let it in my big lake
Camera skills need a bit of improvement as sometimes it's too abrupt & u can't see anything

Maybe let the badwater fall off the aqueduct into a tall extraction tank underneath? I'm not sure which mode you are playing but It'll give you more badwater during droughts.
Or better yet a tank before the aqueduct with a floodgate would be cheaper.
I'm using floodgates, it saves up a bit of badwater for draught season

Because of you I did a gravity battery project myself :D maximum capacity is 62000HP I built up to maximum hight and bombed a hole to the bottom :D fun little "mega project" :D

If i were you, id dam up the last area od the river and use the valley around it for aquatic farmland. Using levees and sluices you don't have to worry about the water level, as long as the middle section stays a bit taller than the farmlands next to it. You could even fill it up by making an underground water channel from the lake at the top of the map, put a sluicr at the end and let the cliffside area be farmland

This episode was extra scary. But I had to do what I had to do to improve the area
sadly this will make the mod of metal gates obsolete

Vertical powershaft is a mod?
It's not a mod. It's a new feature in Update 6
Beta
It was a mod for update 5. Update 6 split the high shaft into an upward and downward shaft and added the vertical shaft as core features. The mod is still useful in update 6 because it has the straight to vertical and universal power shafts (which are not in the base game).

I must use it all. To be fair a lot of it will be used during drought and hopefully we can charge them upp during the night
I stopped building 3x3 towers after I built a 2x4 battery tower without any gears. U5. The new shafts in U6 don't make it easier, just neater; there are less hovering Icons with the new shafts. Costs more though. 2x4 is soo much cheaper, and therefore faster to build, and the U6 update makes this difference Bigger. A good start with overhangs. You'll have better battery setups with some more practice. That last battery with only 2k...? Scrap it to get your materials back, and replace with a shaft.
The new vertical shaft is godsend for me. Makes things soo much easier to build. You're right, I should scrap the 2k battery. It doesn't do any good
You can always destroy them and build new ones instead of powering them
That would be how we do it if I can't power them back after drought
Would be interested in the math of whether or not you get enough power back in rebuilding them to account for the lost resources and worker time
If you dynamite the 3 blocks between the good water source and the edge of the map you can enclose the water source with two sets of sluice gates. Once the badtide starts the bad water can be ejected right off the side of the map behind the source blocks, keeping the good water reservoir full and uncontaminated.
That's a great idea but I never liked that type of solution. Feels very cheaty
One thing you can do is make a Vertical power system. But this idea is very late game because the amount of metal you’d need. If you put levies all around the the bad water source up to say just under build limit then have aqueducts, one above another, so the water flows one way then drops into an aqueduct under that so it flows the other way. Seems like that could be a space saving footprint for the water wheel power. And you could even put Gravity Batteries off the side of the top of it all.

Remember that your beavers can build for a fair distance above and below them. So if you're working in bad water, they can do a lot from the safety of the banks. Also, those corruption areas are from the flow above them, hydration/corruption can spread really far down from a water tile.
I forgot about that. I really don't like that bad water corruption can spread that many blocks down
Nice aqueduct. No need for contamination though. Run the path on the sides, 2 platforms for a bridge to the other side.

I did the same thing with the badwater aquaduct, However I put water wheels in the centre, large windmills off the water wheels on the front side and batteries on the backside. My industrial area is multi layered next to the badwater discharge on the backside and cantilievered off over the green area below

Enjoying this series so much I've started the map. I wouldn't worry about bad water contamination by the sluice gates, I've not noticed any delay in water coming through the sluice when a badtide ends. I put waterwheels in the flow near the water & bad water sources, so we can keep working during the badtides. Currently adding windmills but they are an inconsistent back up. There isn't a lot of green land so I've tried to move all the buildings off it, like putting water pumps, farms & the forrester onto platforms on the river, industry & storage near the power sources.
This map is fantastic! I really enjoy it. Thanks for lots of great suggestions. I might do some of them
planks to gears: "that's too many steps, man" ....dude...it's 2 steps. logs to planks and planks to gears is only two steps. >_________< I'd agree that it would be BETTER if it were 2 gears for 1 plank, but "too many steps" ? no. just....no.

A tip for making the beavers close to food and water is to put 1 small warehouse and a small tank right next to a location and have them on pull supplies

it would be great to utilize that big ridge that you have above the starting district center. you could build some houses or warehouses under the stairs leading up to it and get rid of many buildings that are standing on precious farmland, which is essential on this type of miniature map. Also placing few buildings on platforms in river is strategy too.

If you put a couple of 2 high Floodgates right there after the water pump and the Showers you could hold a lot of water. It will help to keep your crops and trees green for longer.
U6 basically eliminated floodgate use cases with sluice gates.

13:26 The right most overpass can be simplified. Instead of going up, down, then up again, on the power line, it can turn left and head straight, continuing to the road with the hauling post. Also, the power line is taking up space between the plank factory and the metal block factory.
That was a choice made in earlier episode because of the cost

@@itszeeeti Also, you can build to schlooses right in front of, and right behind the main water source, and upscale the dam that you already have. so that it will be filled all time, and when the bad water comes, your schools in front of water source will close up, and the one behind will open. And the dam filled with clear water will remain open. This way you will have water for droughts and bad ties, but when the bad water comes it will fall of the map as soon as it comes out of water source, without infecting your dam full of clean water.
I think you can stack over large piles if you use 2 high platforms and then use the new hanging platforms

Interesting. I think I would only use the fluid dumps early on but then use dynamite to create channels between the holes so I only need to open a single floodgate to fill all holes. The fluid dumps would only be as backup. Maybe a dam next to the river could store water during the wet season and store it for the drought to fill the irrigation channels.
It's one of those things where you set it up early and then forget it because it just works
And if you want to skip learning all these things on your own, then why even play the game, just download a save file with everything built and you won, good job.

Another good tip is to pause the game right at yhe start while you build all the beginning neccessities do you don't waste your beavers time standing around.

Pausing the gathering posts is a bad tip, you should instead deprioritize the job. If the post is full of resource, and you pause it, you strand all the resource in there, nobody can get it.
