Iron Teeth have a huge advantage with the tubes as they can build from within the tube. That means you don’t need any other infrastructure to build the network other than the source station and the tubes themselves. With Folk Tails you need to get to the destination and build the station first as well as the pylons.
what map are you using?
Map for Folktails is MORE SECRETS Tunnel Canyon, Map for Ironteeth is Empire of the sky. Both are on Steam Workshop

I made a U7 map called Mystic Caves. Feedback is welcome.
I think to irrigate everything you just needed everything like you had and run water in the middle on dirt between overhangs. It is more water for sure, but it irrigates everthing and doesnt compromise usable space.

I bet the inspiration for the tubeways was the animation for the ladder mod, you know that they beavers are woking forward but going upwards

Ziplines are a bit slower and trickier to build, but the looks more than make up for it.
and since they are so direct from point A to point B, they might actually be faster than tubeways despite being slower on paper.
Absolutely agree! Seeing beavers fly around is super adorable
havn't tested it yet but the best way to keep the floors beneath connected in order to irrigate lower levels would probably be to just have a 1x1 dirt tower directly below the water storage that goes all the way to ground floor

If the tube lines can connect from any angle, why do they make us dick about so much with power connectors???
Like he said, this was just the first major U7 experimental patch. My gut feeling is that before they officially release the final version of U7, power connectors are going to get the same treatment, probably with a "power shaft" and "solid power shaft" variant. At least, that's how I'd do it.

I opened up my last Iron teeth map yesterday and added tubes over my paths to make an express way. I found that the beavers build the tubes from inside, so you don't have to use paths and scaffolding as you would with other structures, they travel down the completed section to add the next section. I like that I can just use tubes to get to places on the end of the map without having to manage a path with stairs and scaffolding. The way you were building the 3D dirt with the blocks in between, I also want to see how canals on the in between steps instead of a pool in the middle of one level, so make a garden which also has a canal river to generate power for the food production.
I really like that beavers build tubeways from inside. They also build platform thats below tubeway as well. Really nice feature.

the first layer is dangerous, and you just have to be careful how you use that automatization
next thing we need is dynamite on a terrain block from the side so we can dig tunnels.

Right!! A Perfect fit for Folktails
Adorable is the secret sauce for Timerborn.
2 planks + 1 metal for a tube way (or 4 planks + 1 metal when going vertical or building other things on top) sounds awfully cheap, expecially for being badwater proof. (Though I guess you can only build them from the outside.) I was going to compare this to the upwards and downwards power shafts, but I guess those were also changed now.
That's for each tile, and since you're going to want to use them to travel long distances, it'll add up. A tubeway that travels 30 blocks will take 60 planks and 30 metal, but that's just one path. You'll want to have it branching around and serve multiple locations at the far ends of your district, so we're probably talking 100's of tiles of tubeway for a medium size settlement.
As Keldor said, that's the cost per block/tube. It's a lot more expensive when youre covering a whole city
Ziplines was the last mode of transportation I would have ever guessed that would be coming in Timberborn. PS, we want trains.

The "Simple Floodgate Triggers" mod allows for all kinds of trigger conditions, i.e, contamination levels, current cycle type, etc. and you can set the open/close heights with this mod. used in conjunction with stream gauges you can control the open/close conditions plus required heights of your floodgates. ... btw, I'm not so sure about automatic dynamite detonation 😬 sounds like an "incident" in the making! lol
Simple floodgate triggers mod is amazing. Here I wanted to show more unique mods that not many people are talking about. Incidenta happened but you got to accept that with automatisation 🤣

11:20 If we are measuring the power in "beaver power", then I'd expect that the one-beaver power wheel of the Folktails creates 1bp of power (and the big one of the iron teeth creates 4 bp when fully staffed). I don't think we want that (unless we scale all the power-using buildings too). There is an argument that "hp" actually stands for "hamster power", and that seems to be roughly in the right order of magnitude. (I first heard this suggested in the videos of Katherine of Sky several years ago.)
It's just a fun name change. But 1 beaver doesn't have to make 1 bp, the same way how 1 horse doesn't make 1 hp
Multi-layered farms seem a bit overpowered. I think they'll need at least introduce some illumination mechanics for the lower levels (like with the water beaver's megaplatforms).
We will see how multi-layered farming works out. It will be useful in small maps
Great suggestions, I will likely download most of these for my next settlement. I have two more that I love, and are extremely useful: Ladders and Pantry.

i love it so well thought out . would you consider making a couple residential hub types :1 work/home hybrid one pure homes and maybe a max happyness hub(as in all the possible things to help them close by : teeth sharpener, pool, entertainment entertainment deck and anything else that makes happier beavers

3:08 That awkward path on the bottom could be avoided. Move the ground floor stairs two spaces forward, so it's directly under the other stairs. You aligned it to the center but it really shouldn't be there, it should be aligned to the stair column.
