Very cool video. You explained it so well. My mom was a Taishan person and my dad was from Hoiping or Kaiping. Everything in the two dialects was similar with some exceptions in how certain words were pronounced. One other example was when they said the word for nose. In Taishanese, my mom would say bi or sounds like bee. My dad and his mom would say "vay." I know in Mandarin it's "bi zi." I believe. Standard Canto...it's "bay."

Hi, so in one of the scenes, the voiceover and what was on-screen, did not match up. I just had to point it out. I know we didn't have enough time to put everything I wanted to say and show in the short film, but that was a mistake. And I'm very sorry. I should have watched it before my director sent it to Digi 60, but it's okay. Everything's fine. There were so many parts that got cut, because of time, and I'm kind of sad. I think I'll participate in Digi 60 next year. I hope you enjoyed the short film. More to come!🥰

Hey, I just read your article on medium about crocheting one-handed - have you considered trying your hook mount with Tunisian crochet? I’ve seen videos of people doing it entirely one-handed (without using a second hand to stabilize), and it makes sense it’d be possible because the second hand is almost entirely used to control tension. It also doesn’t involve having to flip the piece to the other side when you work the next row, you just work back and forth on one side. Might be worth a try? Tunisian crochet has some cool patterns

Where can I get one of theses devices or can I see the whole wooden part?

I am one-hand knitter. I use about 2 inches thick foam pad, wire cable clips with pins holding my knitting needles. I'm currently making round knit top down sweaters. Everything is possible as long as you find a way to do it.

That’s my grandma’s dialect. My cousin was a medical translator in San Francisco for that dialect. I am sure there aren’t much demand for that now.

Oh my gosh. I had no idea how I was going to do that, and then as soon as you turn the loop over, I could totally see it. Hahaha. This is so much fun.

I am trying very hard to rest my right hand because of tendonitis, which I extremely aggravated over this last week trying to get an afghan done by yesterday, and of course now I regret it. And I crochet and sew all the time. So my right hand and wrist hurting for little things is really, really not cool. I just tried sewing with my left hand, and I guess it can work, it's just going to take a lot longer. But then I tried crocheting with my left hand, and OUCH. Having to grasp the yarn and hold it out with my right hand hurt definitely too much. Very discouraging. I was sitting here trying to decide what I was going to do about that and just randomly said, "Hey Google, can you crochet with one hand?" And the first thing that came up, was your article in Medium! I am so very excited to find you. Thank you so much! I am going to get creative with this!

Oh my god! I had a stroke and only have the use of one hand. I can't wait to try this trick. I don't crochet or knit, but I might try it. I'm also going to order that fantastic cutting board that you recommended. Can't wait to start cutting my own vegetables (and bagels!).
