backers ... lmao .. 'the scammed'. I just picked up SC and got a Drake Cutter starter pack .. it took me less than a week to have seen every spot you can travel to in the 1 system they have up and lagging. In the process of upgrading my gear and my Drake, I died 13 times to the floor of the elevator being a portal to middle earth and have been mostly learning how to work around the many many many bugs. I got me a 20$ rescue craft to get back to where my loot filled Cutter was parked to avoid constantly loosing my loot due to me and my ship not being in the same location and having to file a claim .. I have regeared more times than in Tarkov by now, with only one death to an NPC (that randomly spawned on my ass while I was not on a mission, but in a mission area). Did I mention it has only 1 system to travel in? 3 planets, hand full of moons, couple astroid fields with outposts and a some garbage tier wildlife. Anyone that ever played Elite Dangerous or EVE Online will understand how stupid this is, and how inexcusable. After this many years of development, this is kinda outrageous given the prices they charge for owning some barely functional pixels in a 1 system universe that is traverseable in less than half an hour. I like the DayZ-ish elements of it, but right now it's just a tech-demo at best.
I think people want to complain to complain. I think they are working on a lot right now and we will be blown away in the future. So much of Star citizen community is complain. Just play other games. I have soooooo many games to play I don’t know what to do. I come back to Star citizen time and time again and I’m in it for the long haul.

When you go look at their old ISC and SCL about the cargo changes you can see where they wanted more interesting cases for the items. Ones that your player would interact with: ie you could see them open a small box with a gun plus ammo magazines inside. I think this is the step 1 for that but they need to fix the reasons we are all trying to being up 10 guns when we'll only need 2 or 3 - loss of item when you die, easy to locate death markers, bugs that kill, etc.... Until they do that a lot of this won't really "fit". But i think its a long way off. I wish they'd do a better job of outlining the big goal and detailing the steps to get there. Then they could just say they're so far along on whatever they are working on instead of giving out dates that can't account for problems during development.
I do remember them showing the medic gun in a small box with its syrum attachments as well as weapon racks I hope they do add that not that long after 3.24 because I think it's actually important to be able to gather a lot of items (guns, medical tool, ammo etc) in a container to be able to move it around instead of moving 1 gun at a time with the current implementation for the cargo elevators set for 3.24. They also just uploaded the SCL for this week and it was jam packed with info about cargo hauling and even talking about the full vision for what they want cargo to end up looking like from trading lifestock to changing the temperature to be able to transport certain commodities like food and more and I'll definitely be doing a deep dive on it and make a video about it this Sunday.

This whole idea of "physicalizing everything" is going to be the death of this game.
If it's too cumbersome and annoying for the players and takes too much time then i agree most people don't want to take hours gathering items just to die in 2 minutes, However i think it's all about the execution and the balancing of time and gameplay, for example if we were able to move the items we need (weapons, ammo, armor, medic gun etc.) into a container and move that container instead from the freight elevators i think it'll actually be faster than the system we currently have! But this will not be implemented into 3.24 yet as far as i know.

@@Star_Quack1 It's just one the many snowflakes that starts the avalanche. There are so many time-sinks and annoyances purposefully built into SC, that the idea of logging into the game has drained me to the point that I don't even want to anymore. I have over $1,000 pledged to SC and I haven't even stepped onboard a single ship I own in over a month. I wake up in the hab, take a tram to the common area...look around and log back out.
@@alandabThis is mind blowing to me. So depending on when you pledge this 1k the game had what 10+ less ships, missing everything from the roadmap from all those patches since you pledge. Just so you know it’s okay to play something else for a while then come back to the game Star citizen will be. You’re an example of a growing issue in this community. “Patience” what about a 10yr development made you think the game you wanted would be quick? I’m sorry, but it sounds like you talk up in your head how fast it would be completed and one jerked 1k into the game. Relax, enjoy the development news and play other games.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having a difficult time playing star citizen but I get your frustration, I hope you would find it fun to play and less time consuming soon as star citizen is constantly being developed and things are always changing, from what I know they've talked about how logging in and out of the game will be different in the future you will be able to log out at any place any time and once you log back in you'll be exactly were you are so no longer is it needed to use the tram everytime you log in u will be exactly where you left off, also you can set spawn at the space stations it takes much less time to be at the asop terminals and to get your ships or any gear you'd need, overall I hope that with any of the upcoming updates you can find it fun again to hop into star citizen and enjoy the game.
1:24 Server recovery works except it doesn't always. For starters it wipes missions. So if you're doing a mission it will wipe your progress and possibly land you in a pickle when trespassing. Secondly, yesterday I had a server successfully recovery. However 5 minutes later there was another successful recovery... and another and another. 4 recoveries in 20 minutes each lasting 2 minutes and 30 seconds isn't exactly solving the issue. It seems to replicate the issue that caused that server to crash in the first place... so there is still a lot of work to be done on that.
I think this is what they referred to as cyclical crashing 3:07 it's pretty annoying and defeat the purpose of the recovery however if the server crashed we still lose the mission and any cargo we had, hopefully they find a fix on both losing missions after recovery and the cyclical crashing they have mentioned.
Replication layer wasnt released In 3.18.. It was PES.. Wrong info..
@@Jansoft11 I was confused as well because Jared said in the video that they released the start of the replication layer split in 3.18 I later clarified it in the video as being PES 9:40, I think he meant that PES was a part of the split because they can't persist anything without having a copy of the universe on a different server, eitherway I understand the confusion.

This isn’t any new info about server meshing though, all they did was give us a recap of what they’ve done but nothing since then, ashes of creations just announced that they have a server meshing tech ready to go for testing and the next day CIG dropped this gem 😂
Lol 😂 they're not the only company working on that technology after all! But it's great to see them and ashes of creation working on server meshing as it's important for massive online gaming! Especially at the scale they're trying to achieve
It wasn't a huge success, they need to stop gaslighting.
I think they meant as a "test" it was a success because they were amazed it even worked at all! But to say it's huge success while at the same time stating how it has many issues i think they should've clarified more what "success" to them really meant.
They need to fix the server crashes, no need for recovery then.
They do try to fix server crashes with each patch even in this evo test but the main focus for them was the replication split and that lead to the server recovery which was also needed for persistent entity streaming.
There will always be server crashes. That's the nature of complex technology. While it is good to work on minimizing the crashes, there's a diminishing return. However, the technology for recovery will most likely allow them to also handle crashes by rebooting a server before the crash with minimal disruption for the players. So, in a way, you could say that working on recovery is part of fixing server crashes.

Embrace the loading screen, they are already in SC to some extent. Watch a party member in Pyro Jump station, their marker doesn't "flow" to the hangar. Its at the ASOP/elevator, then suddenly in a hangar. Loading screen in the elevator for them.
Oh no not the elevators! They killed me more times than I would like :(, if jump gates are similar i'll probably be thrown out of the jump gate and get stranded in space 😶

When CIG spoke about he polaris, then hinted July 20. I'm not sure what the dev meant by that by he said July 20, if anyone knows what that date is. Please comment or correct me if I'm wrong of course.
It looks like there isn't any specific event or significant update directly related to the Polaris on July 20, 2024. The upcoming 3.24 patch is likely the focus around that date, but it probably won't include the Polaris, it could be released in the alpha 4.0 patch around citizencon but it is currently not on the roadmap, If there are any new details or plans that someone knows about, please share!

We probably shouldn't get too excited about them mentioning 1.0 for a long time. At least until we see stable pyro/general pu, I think once we have that 1.0 won't just be hype or marketing
Star citizen 1.0 is years ahead still but I'm just curious on what CIG's vision for that patch is, after all there's a lot at stake and a lot of high expectations from a "commercially released" star citizen, people will see it's release as the result of 10+ years of development and 700$+ million in funding so i can imagine people's expectations for that patch.
@@Star_Quack14.0 will be borked beyond recognition, that's the expectation. The game will be an Uber bug fest for a year once released. Personally I don't think we'll see it for a while, instead we'll get 3.25-3.99.
@@Star_Quack1 right but it's so far down the road that anything beyond super basic details, logical leaps from what we already have, is all wishful thinking. Outside of that, I don't think they know, and I don't trust them to tell me they do. I think we all remember the sand worm from a few years ago, and they claimed that was slated for a patch coming soon that was already running in a game environment. If that was coming soon, what won't they promise for a deadline that's years down the line? I'm not trying to nay say the game. I love this game, I hate this game. I've spent far too much money and untold hours playing it, I just think we should temper our expectations. I've seen videos of people speculate about gameplay, then someone else make a video citing that as something coming to the game then circle jerk and froth at the mouth about how cool and intricate this new gameplay loop will be.

Economy is great, but can they throw a bone to third party trade sites that track commodities since there's no in game method to price shop without excessive travel.
They seriously need to add native support for these apps or creat their own economy app in game! I think it's essential for the game

I think what they mean is it the building blocks of a working economy like Eve or X4. You raid a ship that had a bunch of medical supplies headed towards a station that station does not get the medical supply so what supplies they have left go up in price ect

what might happen is stanton is a hand holding area Pryo everything has to be created to be sold and the player eocnomy is all about trade and setting up shops in towns etc so this will be why the BMM is gonna be EPIC cos you can set up anywhere providing you can defend it. also would assume RNG for ship parts made instead of manucaturerer own so modifyed items etc armor sets with better materials made cos i would make Materials RNG based even have ti so tree wood can't grow the same if it's planted in totally diffrent locations so the density or speed of growth can change If it grows slow it's harder if it gorws fast it can be used for fabrics and stuch etc.
That sounds super interesting! I can imagine a player community living on one of the pyro planets protecting their base, creating factories and producing goods and trading it with other communities or selling it to other pyro factions or a long haul to the stanton system! ❤️ I can't wait for the merchantman too hopefully they'll return into making it soon.

You reminded me when I was in soft death falling into atmosphere it felt like I was in a blender add to that cargo and furniture now being hurled around in the ship while falling to death ☠️

The reward they showed as example seemed weak, not fair
They argued that it'll only take 10 mins to finish the 4k uec mission contract so in an hour you can make let's say 20k or so and with more friends even more, keep in mind as well that it's just the entry level basic mission and it only gets higher the more reputation you gain and the more contracts you earn!
@@Star_Quack1 still doubtful, that first example they showed actually was for "Supply Grade - Early" mission which was rank 4 on the 6 level rank system on their grade progression chart, so I'd say it's already quite advanced in the reward system. Of course they insisted these numbers they showed were not final, because that's not really encouraging. Even the second example with a bigger cargo and more difficult setup with danger and multiple trips would reward 46 500 aUEC for a minimum of 1 hour of gameplay (estimated). We will only know for sure when it hits live.
With money which you can exchange for what you want in the future... being rewarded like you are playing an MMORPG with random items you don't need is not useful to the player.
For me I think having a special armor or a unique weapons/furniture/badges as rewards for us completing missions and gaining reputation sounds fun and with the items or armor having high stats it would be very useful and will have a high insentive to play and work with each faction and what they offer for your services, there's a lot of room to add more rewards alongside money

I won't spend another cent on this game, only when I see three things being done: insurance for life on any ship purchased with money, AI integrated with NPCs for dialogues involving missions, trade, battle and interactions in general, and integration of npcs to crew ships, if none of this happens, I won't spend another 1 cent on this.

I wonder if it's possible to integrate chat gpt 4o with the ai in the game! Heavily constrained and tailored ofc with some manually made quotes or voiclines that would be fun! I would have a serious conversation with the food vendors in the game 😅
Actually I think the system they're describing here isn't really "quantum", where there were supposed to be actors who make choices on their own. This sounds like a much simpler simulation of economy, but which might also actually yield better results
You're right! This is just an initial implementation of the economy system and they will build on top of it with each iteration, they also mentioned the "virtual Ai's" that are a part of the quantum system having not always being physicalized because they're always trying to balance performance with playing the game and having the quantum system functional.

Soon tm 🙂, no but I think the bugs and instability will persist until star citizen 1.0 and probably after that because usually those are addressed at the end of any game development cycle.
@Star_Quack1 na, if your in the end of your development cycle many root issues at that point either require too much (insurmountable) effort to solve or the issues are minor enough to be ignored. The problems plaguing star citizen will have to be solved, but they never will. That said, lately they have been pretty good about fixing current issues. It's just the ones that have been around for years that need to be fixed, but again they're probably buried so far that it requires more work than will prove profitable. Fixing the hull c or crashes won't drive up sales on the Polaris.

I fly a Hull-C from time to time. While it has bugs, it is usable (makes about 250k per quantum jump). There are ships and features that are still largely unusable. Ships people bought years ago and still have not even seen. I love the Hull-C, but would love to see and have a reason to use a merchantman in Pyro to profit on a dynamic industry.
