Просмотров 1857 месяцев назад
In this one we troubleshoot the components and systems that control the 358 small block Chevy that's swapped into the 1975 Datsun 280Z. The Megasquirt 3X (MS3X) computer that i built from a blank circuit board took a little time to program We had a few hiccups in the wiring but at the end of it all it RUNS!!! SOUNDS SO GOOD!!
DONT GET IT RIGHT, JUST GET IT RUNNING

TESTING MS3X AND JIMSTIM
Просмотров 31311 месяцев назад
In this one we assemble the JimStim 1.5 and JimStim X, as well as test both the JimStim and the MegaSquirt 3 (MS3X) bought from DIYAutoTune and assembled by myself. This ECU will be the controller for the Coil on Plug ignition and sequential injection for the SBC swapped Datsun 280z. #datsun #280z #diy #diyautotune #automotive #ms3 #megasquirt #soldering
Fixing a Cracked Dash the Right way?!
Просмотров 107Год назад
Today we are fixing the dash for my 1975 Datsun 280z. I had attempted this about 5yrs ago with terrible results and today we are fixing that. Filler, Fiberglass, Resin, and Flock. Possibly the strongest and best way to fix a dash that would be considered destroyed, without going to a professional #diy #240z #280z #automotive #datsun #fabrication #fiberglass #bondo #flock #260z #dash #autometer ...

LS COILS ON A SBC?! WHATS BEEN HAPPENING WITH THE DATSUN?!

There has been a lot going on but, work is still going on with the 1975 Datsun 280z. Flatbed Finale! and Ball joint Failure

Finally got the Toyota Tundra 100% road legal again. The "Base" Flatbed / Tray is finished. It was a long bumpy road between the weather, mechanical failure, and personal issues but couldn't be happier with the results. BATTERY CUT OFF SWITCH AND RELOCATION FOR THE DATSUN 280Z
Просмотров 218Год назад
In this one we are installing 2 battery kill switches, and relocate the battery to the rear of the Datsun 280z. Motivation and ideas for some of this project came from some fellow Datsun owners.. its hard to do something completely new, especially in the Datsun world with 50yr old cars lol. 4 gauge cable www.amazon.com/Gauge-Premium-Welding-Cable-Black/dp/B07CZ4LKH6/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=lSLy...

Harbor Freight Paint Gun, Datsun Engine Bay
Were did u get the latches and hanges pls sor?
Think about getting a desiccant filter system if you’re going to try to much painting to help dry your air before it hits your gun
Hey man, what size rims and tires do you have?
Do you think it’s necessary to have the bed on those mounts? Is it a tire clearance issue? I’m planning my build out now
no its not necessary. i had a specific look i was going for as well as a plan for a bigger tire.
Probably got a bad gas solenoid on your old welder
What’s the gauge on the sheet metal and sq tube that you went with ?
Both the bed and the sides use 2x2...1/8" if I remember right. I did that to try and save weight. Still will outlast the rest of the truck. I've hauled all kinds of things with it including concrete chunks.
@@HELLBOUND_GARAGE thanks I’ll put that in consideration for my side and tailgates
What size of square tube did you use?
Hey I was wondering if you have a way to contact you in regarding my build I am in Milwaukee
There are links on my homepage that will direct you to places you can message me.
I noticed the wording on the 220 OmniPro was backwards or mirrored for some reason. It's not in actuality on the welder.)
Great work keep it up
Would this work on a bench test of a gauge cluster out of car?
I dont think so, but you can always reach out in the facebook groups or forum, both are active and can be a big help
Do you have dimensions or a cad sheet? i like the design. What are the top dimensions? Might... Might copy this but do some aluminum to reduce weight. Would be 9 months out if ever...
honestly i dont, i started with a CAD drawing but after a while just went with what worked...its a 6x6 base with 4 bars horizontal, and 4 vertical..super easy
Damn, this is the best think I have found! I have been thinking about a tundra with a flat bed and you just made it happen. Great job!
thx!
I might suggest that you check out Lizard Skin product to be spray applied to the interior floor/trans-tunnel area for heat management. It’s some amazing stuff!!
Hey Brandon, I’ve got a ‘72Z waiting on me for the last 15 years to restore & your videos have gotten me rev’d up to get started on it again. Could you tell me what floor to bottom-of-ceiling joist dimension you’ve got in your shop? And what rotisserie you have? Many Thanx! Zeophyte72
honestly my garage is the same as any other, and my rotisserie is 3 engine stands welded together. when the car is upside down the roof is roughly 6in off the ground
🎉 'Promo SM'
Look great man
Nice job...how are the brackets installed on the frame and bed? Are those fully welded or bolted? Can you take off the bed if you need?
It's a 2 piece bracket. The bottom piece is a box with a captured nut welded to the frame. The upper piece is essentially a box cut in half diagonally and welded to the bed. Then all bolted together. 6 2 piece brackets in total
My Husband seen this the next day after Surgery to take off a Colostomy Bag of 6 months. He got so much better they did Surgery that was supposed to happen til October. He's a true Mechanic for himself an the neighborhood. He did good in Surgery & he can't wait to start fixing vehicle's. This video gave him hope. Thanks for sharing! ✨🙏✨
Yo, I didn't even know we had a mental health month.
You should have go with Eastwood 250
it’s also gay month
Thanka brother. Goes both ways. Hope the build goes well. Love you bro. Stay safe!
yeah remeber its better to be gasy than be born a man
Thanks for the video
Thank you I'm good 👍🏾 Nice car Can't wait to see subscribed ‼️
Thanks bro
Nicely done! I do feel ball joints are an issue on any truck. Any truck coming into shops I've been at would be loose. Just something that all trucks need checked for. Nice customer bumper, tire rack and 4wd set up
Thank you
Looks great man. My buddy just recently made his 2wd 99 ranger a flat bed out of an old rusty cut up utility trailer. If I had the right reason, time, and money for this I’d definitely be doing this to my 05 tundra.
That's kind of my approach to things, if it ain't broke don't fix it, if it is broke make it "better"
What’s the mileage on it?
currently 244,000 miles
@@HELLBOUND_GARAGE nice 👍
Man, I will build mine as well. How long is that brass extension? Thanks a lot
Nicely done, the video is mirrored at some places…
unfortunately everything i do is off of my phone currently so it will in some places that will be the case.
What transfer case did you put on the this transmission?
98 toyota 4runner 6cyl auto
your truck is bad ass bro!
thank you
I also have a first gen, been looking everywhere for a solid axle swap build to get ideas for mine but theres nearly no videos on RUclips atleast about it. Only ones I've seen were on sequoias. So your future tundra solid axle swap video will be a good point of referance for a loooooooooot of people.
honestly sequoias and tundra's are pretty similar so those builds are a good reference, but i agree there isnt a lot of tundra specific knowledge out there
Can't wait to see what camper you're gonna put oh it
the only box thing thing didnt check for me is ac output :C but its whatever, just clean the al-u-minimum first
Where did you get the flatbed?
I built it, there are a few videos on my channel about it
You can put adjustable Bilsteins on the front
I wasn't sure what he was talking about. I went with bilstein adjustable front struts. Worked perfect for leveling.
Great job! We must be related for I feel the same about having/ buying equipment. I have a wet/dry vac, so I didn't need to make a catcher. great how to video.
I have a wet/dry vac also but, if you vacuum and carpet clean in one shot you end up with a mess in the vac. Use the catcher for water and the vac for dirt?! That's my thought behind it
I installed them. Just weld what touches and the rest fill with seam sealer. Itll be fine. Actually, I wrecked my LS swap and these helped alot when I crashed. Didnt go anywhere.
That much seam sealer doesn't sit right with me. It took a while, but I got it fully welded and then seam sealed after
I bought a Vulcan Omni Pro 220 back in 2019.....The MIG function shit the bed after 6 months. I returned it( back then they came with a 1 year standard warranty) and bought a Miller MultiMate 220. Ive never been happier
Trust me, I want a multimatic, but it's just not in the cards right now. The omni pro has been a great machine for me right now, and I still have a long time on my warranty with a store 10min from my house.
Had mine(Vulcan) for a few years it's been great
Good little build. We shared this video our homemade tools forum this week 😎
Back in 1975, I was 19 and worked for a guy that had a carpet cleaning business. He purchased a machine, that was part of a franchise operation. The thing that made this system unique, the vacuum was a large roots type blower set up to do a high volume very low pressure vacuum. A wet vac just does not provide that, unless you get lucky to have such a machine. I had a 20 gallon Craftsman wet dry vac I got back in 1978. You had to wear hearing protection. But it was real good at sucking water out of carpeting. I used it at my parents home that got flooded too often. It left jute back carpeting dry enough that a fan could finish the drying out.
I just bought the 2.5 inch level kit for my 01 tundra.. it’s just 2 big spacers that go above the front springs.. I wasn’t told about any new control arms. even the place I got it from didn’t say anything when I asked them (rough country). Reviews didn’t say anything about but either.
The one I bought didn't say anything about control arms either, but I fought the truck 1 1/ 2 days before figuring out they wouldn't fit.
I'm 1 ton swapping the truck, so it really doesn't matter to me at this point
Looks really good on the 1st gen Tundra, nice design on the flat bed!
I'm happy with the way it turned out. I can't wait to make some further mods to it
Clear as mud
Sorry, if something didn't make sense
The audio on the this video sucks hi low hi low
Where can I order the front bumper
You can't it's a one off that I built myself
@@HELLBOUND_GARAGE ok thx man that bumper looks awesome.
What orifice size did you use for the spray nozzle? 1.1 mm?
In the description, I listed the size I used
@@HELLBOUND_GARAGECould you let me know the orifice size? I'm not seeing it in the description.
