I finally did it, lol, I picked up the Arrma Fireteam! I couldn't resist the amazing deal from Horizon Hobby. I took advantage of the second sale, right before Christmas. For $399 US, you can't pass this thing up! It's an absolute beast, you definitely get a quality rig at this price. This is just it's first shakedown run, to see what it's made of. Great driving experience, not a typical basher...

Arrma Senton Front Bumper Mod/Fix 🤓 #dougErc
What gearing n motor n esc?
Stock setup. 5200kv motor, 80 amp esc. I believe it was a 22 tooth pinion if I recall correctly.
Hi , would you do a video of differental on the Senton.mines due for replacement 😮 front and rear ends? Vegas Paul here.
Hi Paul. Sorry, I don't have that truck anymore. There are lots of videos here on RUclips though, just search 'Arrma 3s diff replacement'. Good luck.
This is a super fun RC for the size. I went ahead and replaced the rear diff from the get-go. It's definitely a weak point. and went ahead and locked up the diffs got some really good Shorty 3S Lipo for it. Really wakes this little rocket up. I think they're 50 C will ride wheelies as long as you want to. Not to mention it is tough as hell.
i honestly enjoy this kit...after almost a year of bashing ..the steering links busted..Ackerman went loose..ive change the spur and bevel set from the 1/14 mjx to my 1/16 hypergo since the original ones stripped due to all time 3s load....i did some suspension tuning..400cst oil shocks and upgraded spring from the original with abit harder rate..throw in proline caliber rubbers...radiolink radio. & HW 16BL30 esc....and it runs, responded great on offroad tracks... kindly take a peek....thanks..... ruclips.net/video/IciHSOw-rck/видео.html

Nice body on that arrma limitless and the stickers
Thanks, but they're not stickers! Custom paint job by Toronto Leisure RC on Instagram! 🔥
@@dougerc ohh okay
Ive done exactly the same upgrade 😂 I believe they are a must have 😂
Hi hope all is well, i tried but the v2 shafts are different than the v1 shafts , so i ended up buying a set of assorted 8mm pinion gears from 46 to 50 tooth mod 1, i removed the 39 tooth spur on the shaft and replaced it with a 49 tooth gear meshed a 27 tooth pinion on the motor and it seemed to do the trick, cooler temps and about 80mph on 8s. I watched jaytee rc and he did the same on his limitless a few years ago.
Perfect! Glad it worked out!
Zooooom little ripper man little rocket this one is it's insane on 3s
What can we say boy's and our toys just can't seem to help our selves 😆 you really can't beat these MJX vehicles for the price and what you get with them ive owned nothing but Traxxas through out the years but ive been very pleased with this company so far.
Keep up the amazing work
It's lame they don't include screws
I 💯 agree!
I’ve been having the same issue. I’ve replaced my bumper 3 times now. I’m going to try this method. On the off chance you will reply to this cause it was posted so long ago……..Any updates on how it performs?
We actually got rid of it, because it wasn't a good basher because of the bumpers. It did, however, perform way better with this mod. 👍🏻
fireteam is way slow
Hi, the video helped a lot, many thanks! quick update (maybe that happened only to me): I bought this bumper a couple of weeks ago (beginning of February) and the 3 screws that are used to fix the bumper under the chassis at the front are now not M3 any more, it is M4!! I used M4x16mm, worked perfectly. Cheers
Glad to hear it worked out! 👍🏻
Could you make a video showing the diff up close and the driveshaft lengths used to make this work?
The driveshafts are stock out of the box length, and the diff is the stock 46t Infraction/Felony diff (part # ARA310989). The tallest pinion with this setup is a 27t, if I'm not mistaken. It's simply a drop-in and you're away to the races!
Thanks for the reply, so that we are on the same page infraction or felony diff would work and as far as front and rear drive shafts, you used the stock ones from the limitless, or did you use the ones from an infraction. What I'm getting at is on my v2 with the spool removed my front and rear shafts are the same size so I would think that the front would reach but the rear wouldn't .
Yes, I used the stock driveshafts from my Limitless V1. I understand what you're saying about the V2, but as far as I understand, the center spool/diff are positioned further back on the chassis, to prevent the rear driveshaft from flopping around at high speeds. This, however, shouldn't affect the fitment of the Infraction/Felony center diff. It should still drop right in.
Thanks a bunch!!!
No problem! I hope it works out! 👍🏻
Thanks helped a lot.
I haven't done RC cars in 40 years, but I recently bought 2 of these H16BM on Amazon USA. I like the cars, but the controllers aren't great. I'd like to upgrade to the Dumbo controller you are using, but I'm not sure how. Which model Dumbo do you recommend? You need a special cable for the light? What about the receiver--Do you need to change the ones in the cars? Thanks! I like your video.
Thanks, I appreciate your kind words! I recommend the Dumbo X6 transmitter with either an X6F or X6FG (gyro) receiver. The transmitter has no noticeable lag and has really long range. The receivers are excellent and easy to set up. The gyro is handy to have if you're running fast, especially on the street. To answer your question, yes, you would have to switch the receivers. Plug the servo into channel 1, the esc into channel 2, and the light into the light switch, then the switch into channel 3. Here is the Canadian link for the switch, I'm sure it's the same in the US: www.amazon.ca/dp/B08FLZXSD7?r... Lastly, plug the motor fan into channel 4. After you're all plugged in and the receiver stuck down with double-sided tape, turn on the transmitter and plug your battery in. Then, turn on the esc and the receiver will be blinking. There is a little button on the side of the receiver, push and hold with something that can fit inside and the receiver will blink with a solid green light and be bound to the transmitter. That's it! You'll be set to rip! If you want to set up the gyro, press the button quickly 3 times and the light color will change from green to yellow. The channel 6 dial on the top of the transmitter will control its sensitivity. If for some reason your wheels move in the opposite direction of your turn, press the little button 2 times quickly. That will set your wheels following the gyro properly. Hope this helped! Sorry it was a bit long-winded, lol. Please feel free to reach out again if you have any questions. Enjoy your RCs!
@@dougerc So I'm going to order a DUMBO transmitter with one receiver. For the reciever you recommend the X6FG (I want Gyro) and not the X4FMG? The H16BM comes with a 5 channel receiver, but only 4 channels are used. So I'm wondering which receiver to get. Also, I'm not seeing the X6FG, only the XDCG. Any advice would be appreciated.
I think you might be looking at the X4, or X4 receivers. The X6DCG is a gyro receiver with lighting connections. That one would be ok as well if you need the gyro.
Mine will be here today, i ordered a set of 3rd party 3s Lipo but the more i look i think the 3s i ordered isnt going to fit. Oh well, ill send em back and get the factory ones.
I ordered a set of Sunpadow 3s batteries from Amazon, they fit perfectly! I think they are 1350 mah. I just had to buy Xt30 to deans adapters, or you could solder your own. I'll be doing a video on the batteries soon. Batteries: www.amazon.ca/dp/B08RYJCR2Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Adapters: www.amazon.ca/dp/B09NTG5XKL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Cheers!
I ordered the Blomiky that come with a deans plug and after more research I may just be able to remove the tie down and use a strap or zip tie.
Perfect!
I absolutely love it, I can get the Blomiky 3s to fit in the truck but I haven't ran it 3s yet, I'm scared I'll break it haha. I only drove it for about 5 minutes on 2s and I pushed the entire rear passenger section forward 1/16"....control arms, suspension, all of it lol but yea it's great
@johnjacob8919 wow! Haha ya I'm nervous to run 3s but I absolutely have to!
Thanks very much bro. Used your video here to install the super basher front bumper on my Kraton 6s V5. Sucess. While the process was a little different, it was close enough. Greetings from Nova Scotia.
You're welcome, Bruce! Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad it helped! Have fun bashing! 👍🏻
Bearings
It was!
You got a local slot track too! Lucky guy!
Yessir! Thank you! 🤝🏻
I got a 1/14th MJX Drift pick up. Wanna try. What scale are thouse?
These are 1/10 scale, 2wd proper drift cars. RC drifting takes a bit of practice to pick up but it's an absolute blast! I recommend an MST 2.5 chassis and build it yourself or you can get an MST 2.5 RTR and hit the ground drifting! I also have the 1/14 scale pickup, the H14MK. I unboxed it in my latest video, it's absolutely amazing! 🙌🏻
Do this for teathering body clips. Buy yhe 4" zip ties. Threw the clios loop, and pull snug. Drill ahole for the zip tie to go threw. Cut the locking part off a zip tie. Put the end threw the hole, and slide the locking part on the zip tie. Poof a cheep teathred body clip. Thanks for theswitch for the lights! 👍👍👍
Amazing tether tip! Thank you! 🤝🏻 I'm glad that light switch helped you out! 👍🏻
I call ours denominator the bottom number in fractions 😂😜
Hahaha that's great! Really witty! 😂🤣😅
@@dougerc lol these things have really created quite the buz this year i had to jump on the hypergo bandwagon and 1 led to several fast mjx is really jumping into the small basher market strong wltoys and hbx and the likes should really worry if mjx make more options/scales in the future bang for buck best sub 150 ive spent on a cheap basher in years
I couldn't agree more!!! 💯👌🏻🔥
Took me a couple tries to get thru this one I kept getting nauseous but I felt better when I muted it. Cooool truck! Woohoo!
Haha thanks! It was meant to catch people's attention, not potentially make them sick! Thanks for hanging in there! 🤝🏻
So you were running 6s through 35amp/ 45amp esc's and called it a battery test? Zee is not a cheap battery but Venom's are the best.
I was running 6s through a 150 amp esc. And Zeee batteries are inexpensive, not cheap.
That makes a lot more sense. So you put a 150amp ESC into a 16th scale car. @@dougerc
@dannysdailys no, I think you've got this budget battery video mixed up with the hyper go video. The 150 amp esc is in the Fireteam and Notorious.
You must be right, thanks. I won't come back here.@@dougerc
Lol your comments are always welcome. 👍🏻
That isn't a knock off of anything. In the 16 scale world, there are only two trucks and a million brands who buy them. That's the Hyper Go which sells under at least 7 brand names, and counting. And the Redcat Volcano16. And it sells under all the rest. Hyper Go sells the whole truck, and Redcat sells roller kits. Hyper Go has two versions, the one you have and the one with a larger battery tray and a strap hold down, which they don't sell under their own name where they force your battery choices. That's it.
Thanks for the info! I was merely implying looks wise, its resemblance to others. It definitely is unique to itself.
Just get the clipless body of the first MJX series or the body of the MJX 16208?
If it fits, yes!
@@dougerc All you need to do is to order the clipless body mounts with the clipless body and swop them out with the clipped body's mounts and you're good to go! My 16209 eats body clips like mad every time I take it out so I am converting it to the clipless body style. I think the aluminium body mounts that take the body clips will destroy the body much faster by punching huge holes through the body where the body clip holes are, so the aluminium mounts might not break, but quite likely destroy the body.
I have the same light module included with my MJX 14210 that has a Dumbo RC sold like that straight from Aliexpress.
That's perfect! No need to upgrade! 👌🏻
I love mine, so far all we had to replace was a screw on the one steering arm that fell out, so now we learned to check that all the screws are tightened before takiing it out.
Yup, that's a good habit to get into for any RC you run!
@@dougerc Oh, I forgot to mention, my 16209 spits body clips, I guess the H16BM does too as it is also the body clip style, so yes, one screw and quite a few body clips would have been lost if I did not make my own body clip tethers for them.
Make sure not to tighten the steering arms to much or it will not turn the same both ways an slowly overpower the servo
That's a great tip! Thank you! 🤝🏻
Are they repairable or upgradeable
Yes, absolutely! MJX has a store on Amazon and you can easily get parts on Ali Express. I actually just ordered aluminum body mounts from Amazon. There are lots of aluminum upgrades on Ali Express as well. 👍🏻
Another upside is that they are both 2S and 3S capable out of the box, also now there are so many made that all parts are freely available. I already have ordered in some spares like differentials in case they break. I serviced and greased the differentials and drivetrain before I took mine out, so I expect it to last longer than if I just took it out of the box and ran it, not knowing how well the drivetrain was lubricated from the factory. On the one we checked we found almost NO grease in the differentials, so we are glad we checked them before running it.
Great video,thanks
It’s so silent lol (compared to the real counterpart I mean)
Wicked
Zeee is not a cheap battery, they are great. I’ve never had an issue
I have about every battery brand you can name and i think zeee batterys are the best ones by far.
I completely agree!
@@dougerc I have some 80c 5200 mah zeee battery's I run in my lmt. Thing is a absolute beast!
@@Solid_axle_rc those are the exact ones we have! 3s 5200 mah 80c. Wicked! 🔥
I was starting to prefer the ovonic batteries same size I get better run times with the ovonic , though the zeee batteries are nice also lighter if that matters to some.
Link
Do they have one for the Senton?
It should work for the Mojave, but 3s Senton, I don't think so.
So the Amazon batteries are just as good as the brand name, can you use a smart charger with the Amazon batteries?
I don't know for sure, I don't use smart chargers. I use SkyRC and Dynamite Prophet Sport Mini chargers.
🤷 *promo sm*
I'm looking for a stronger front bumper for a Arrma Senton
Check to see if Proline makes one
i only use the zeee batteries after I had a Traxxas one explode in my truck, let me tell you it was a hell of a show, my truck though, was a total loss.
Oh man, sorry to hear! That must be really frustrating, losing a truck because of a faulty battery. I definitely like the Zeee batteries. They're my go-to!
