I skimmed through my journey this past year plus vlogging under Bipolar Courage.
A big milestone for me this month was finishing nearly 6 years of therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder, PTSD. Still considered to have impairment from a mental injury but just doing the best I can.

Alone but not lonely at Christmas. Seasonal triggers.

My name is Xanthe Wyse. Felt like wearing makeup today, even though I am not going to work. I had last Christmas alone (other than flatmates around who don't celebrate Christmas). This year, I am expecting to spend Christmas alone, also. I actually find Christmas time to be a bit annoying, with all the extra shoppers etc, so I got what I wanted from the supermarket today. I even found Christmas...

My name is Xanthe. I completed over 5 years of therapy for posttraumatic stress disorder, PTSD, this month. Accident Compensation Corporation, ACC, paid for my therapy, as it's considered to be an injury. Most people with a similar presentation take 12-18 months. I needed a slower approach, with the complexity of comorbid bipolar disorder plus severe PTSD from two main traumas plus grief tangle...

My name is Xanthe. Had a little dance after I took my evening meds. The meds I take for bipolar disorder are pretty sedating but I had some surplus energy as I haven't been able to my usual intensity of exercise past few weeks, recovering from flu. Still got pretty warm though. It's a fun way to exercise. Unfortunately, it's cramped in my room. It's a form of dynamic/active stretching. Winding ...

My manic experiance have been seeing patterns in unrelated thinngs or everything i had sharper memory increased thinking ability enriching music experiance while listening but soon i had severe cognitive impairment because of this i was on meds cocktail aripiprazole 30 mg valproate 1000mg risperidone 1 mg and one more meds it took me 1 year to recover and then i left the meds due to some reason after recovering later i was giveN meds such as aripiprazole 10mg which made me depressed and then i was on cariprazine 1.5mg which had some cognitive side effects and currently i have started taking lurasidon 20 mg . I am 21 years old i want to have a great future . Please i request you to add me in the telegram and whatsapp group if you are connected to one. PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE YOUR RESPONSE COULD MEAN A LOT TO ME I NEED SOME HELP!!!!!!! HOW LONG PEOPLE TAKE ON AVERAGE BEFORE FINDING THE RIGHT MED FOR THEM?
Your soooo cool...U sound so much like me and my best friend...I know its all hard and so difficult to do but like you I am continuing to fight these systems too...and because like you, I have values and these people, systems and institutions need to be accountable...One example... I had my face smashed in from Domestic violence. I got 14 screws, 3 plates in my face never been able to breathe properly again..My face slightly altered, roof of my mouth numb...I get $2000 in compensation..The surgeon who may be able to fix me...and thats a MAYBE gets $13,000...Like wtf!!!
I just had my 3rd Assessment i think...Disgusting...would love to talk with you as I advocate for myself and others as well...And we should start our own Advocacy Business together lol Have had a lump sum impairment and the last one I have only received 2 days ago and too scared to open...I feel like shaming the Assessor I had...A GP from Invercargill...Belittled me..Mocked me..Questioned me and dictated to a machine through the assessment...Soooo angry...Its traumatising enuff let alone these $#@!@@# who get paid top dollar to see us...( approx $420.00ph I think)...Plz contact me
Mine was disgusting...I hope u did better x
@@karla6465 was a 3 year battle. Stressful but I won in the end. The actual payout isn't much & the doctor said I should have had the bipolar included as part of the injury in my case. I am still waiting for ACC to provide a breakdown of total costs. They would have spent more on doctors & lawyers.

Happy new year 🎊🎆 😊
Happy new year to you, too
Happy new year lass wish you happy things for 25
thank you. Happy New Year to you too.
I think a lot of the stuff you've touched upon is very revealing about this whole "Embrace autism as a way of being" narrative (for lack of better term.) And it's the sort of stuff one hears from Ted Talk speakers mostky (well from my humble observation at least.) When you talked about the pro-neurodiversity people who are using the issue of autism to create a personality for themselves, it struck a chord with me but unfortunately my heart also sank as well. It really made me wonder about a potential underlying agenda (financial gain, the speakers' self promotion etc...) I really hope you're wrong about this but i fear you may have hit the nail right on head. Ultimately, if these charlatans really are exploiting autism to promote themselves, it will at the detriment of the neurodivergent factions of society (And the worst is that people will be voting for Christmas like unsuspecting turkeys.)
@@lowelljohnson744 it's a sociopolitical label so the politics & financial gain seem to be agendas, I think. I am cynical about those who can travel here there & everywhere for speeches as clearly little to no actual impairment. I call them "fraudtistics". Start to handflap, buy a bunch of stim toys & have meltdowns (which aren't even meltdowns) to "unmask" their new found autistic identity. Tend to become popular on social media for evangelising lies. Lies because at times, some will quietly admit that had no issues in childhood & most of adulthood. Career burnout is now called autism.
Sorry to hear you’re leaving the channel (have only just discovered it), but good luck with Soar Purpose. Btw, if you don’t mind me saying, I really love your hair. I’m afraid all the meds I’ve had to take for my bipolar over the years has caused me considerable hair loss - a great tragedy for someone who’s always wanted long, thick locks. (Sigh). Anyway, take care and best wishes for the New Year 😊
@@clovergreene3753 I think my hair has thinned too (probably from postmenopausal mainly). So I am trying to make the most of some length (been growing it out past few years). Long layers make my hair look fuller. I dyed it a few shades darker recently. Was a bit worried it might look harsh but it's actually closer to my colour when younger. I will likely speak on video from time to time on Soar Purpose. I just don't really feel like I have anything to add on this channel that I haven't said before. Happy New Year to you too.
Wishing you all the best for 2025 and focusing on your creativity, Xanthe. I hope that will include your writing as well. I bought your 2 books and enjoyed both the content and your unique writing style. HNY xo
@@jenlovesthisstuff Thank you for reading my books & the feedback. The final book, Soar Purpose, seems to be more hard work than inspiration but I will try to make a go of it in 2025.

Love that song ❤
I tried to hang from my arms and heard a lot of cracks 😮 in my arms, shoulders, and back. I would love to do a pull up but it seems impossible 😢
@@Faith.is.Awake.notwoke I doubt I will be able to do a full pullup. I like the stretches though.
Have you shaken out your joints and stretched well enough beforehand? Even if you're used to it your joints would pop at least a little bit from the accumulated gases inside.
@@purpletea3807 I sometimes get a few pops of shoulders but it's just like if get a painless click of toe or knee (would be gasses). I am carrying extra weight so gradually built up the strength by stretching most of weight into it over a period of weeks. Surprised at how much difference it makes, just a few seconds at a time, shake out then repeat.
Sharing this is amazing. You are a special person, very brave and amazing insight.
thank you. It's a bit cringe but I happened to have a recording when I was off meds and in denial of the diagnosis.

Hey the tissue box stand is a vibe tho lol, a ring light is a great investment, ever tried colour grading your outdoor shots? Videography is a really nice artform to mess around with
@@LegXacy The ring light comes with a clip for a phone but I hadn't attached it yet. It might work okay with the clip attached as low as possible, to avoid reflections in glasses. When I do my horizontal videos with a camera, I usually just rest the camera on some furniture. Been testing outdoor light for skintones. Still to write up a blog post and perhaps put some of my findings into a video. Thinking of making a DIY colour checker.
@ that’d be interesting!
@@LegXacy I already know that cloud, sun overhead & shade are cool light. Near sunset and sunrise are warm light. Interested mainly in the neutral light in between.
Xanthe, not sure if this should come as a surprise, on twitter, shellspectrum, myself and other former autism advocates including one who has a PHD decided to call out some neurodiversity activists because they were making extreme claims over teaching basic skills to autistic people be it children or adult as ‘ableist’, ‘racist’, ‘misogyny’ and etc. Interestingly they have now made a stalking campaign because the neurodiversity activists did not like being called out when people saw through their BS

Hi, I really like your channel. I’m was dx with ADHD and Bipolar back in 1997 during an eight week hospitalization (I turned 18 in the hospital). I was hospitalized five times before age 21 and then recently here at 45. I take quetiapine and lamotrigine for Bipolar 1/Migraine w/Aura etc A lot of people think I have Autism, and I just tell them that the 1. ADHD can look like Autism. 2. I have psychotic features and that can include Autism, flat affect, speech disturbance and catatonia/stereotypy. It’s just that my mind has disintegrated finally.
@@nima_33 thanks for your feedback. Apparently bipolar & ADHD are a tough combination. Yes, you are right that diagnoses can look similar. Nothing is actually done about adult autism diagnosis, anyway.
