Before he was even a year old, Wilson’s parents were divorced. Throughout his childhood, Wilson was a rule follower and overachiever. However, his need for acceptance led him in his later teen years to abuse drugs and alcohol. This began as a way to gain acceptance from a different crowd but soon turned into a deep addiction that landed him in a rehab facility. Soon after, Wilson met his wife Tallie, and they started a family.
