NO, the 80% charge limit on earlier cars ONLY applies to the AC charging - the DC charging goes around this limit [where applicable] AND the Charging Timer, hence why this video can be vital - there's a Take3 I've done, too, using the convenient Type2 tp Type1 adapter, which is always handy to carry with you, in case you can't find any Chademo & you're desperate .....

If you buy & fit the AC Charge Limiting Kit that I'm demonstrating here, it'll work just fine .......

One of the final scenes in the video is the comparison of lower height with the 62kwh pack fitted - the lower ride height, with the deeper pack, reduce the airflow under the car, improving the economy more than just with the axle deflector I fitted. This that require the original ride height and/or extra ground clearance can easily fit rear springs from a 62kwh car, or proprietory coil spring assisters, available online.

Great spot!! At the time of the video, LeafSpy wasn't connecting to my dongle - the bottom.right hand corner is steady blue when connected.

The car and upgrade, in total, cost me €13000 including the credit for the old battery pack, which went on to upgrade a 5 bar Leaf. One needs to sort the Insurance specifics with ones Insurers / Broker....

No. Which, of course is why you see none in the video...... Once the 12v is disconnected & the HV cutoff removed, the battery pack is totally safe.

I bought a used pack, at 98%SOH, as it's around 3 times more for new......

No problems at all! The EVsEnhanced Translator Kit makes it 'like factory' and is plug and play - it sounds as though you'll need a #LeafBatteryUpgrade soon, too 😉

I just had feedback from a customer that 1 type of Chademo charger wouldn't start after his #LeafBatteryUpgrade - I've not encountered this in 40,000kms, but there's always one!! So I visited the manufacturer of the Chademo chargers involved, in my 2014/62, and they found that the Chademo response from a modified car was marginally slower since the modification - a by-product of the vital translator - it took them 10 minutes to re-write their Charger coding, and transmit it to the 30 or so chargers they operate throughout Hungary. 😁

That would depend entirely on where you are in the world........but, Salvage Yards, Battery Specialists & Owners Groups woukd be a good place to start...
