Thanks to a partnership between my TA2 team Silver Hare Racing and Ken Thwaits & Showtime Motorsports, I was able to spend a day testing a wicked TA car at VIR last week. Over 900 hp and ~ 2850 lbs with plenty of downforce. This car is so fast and so much fun! Thanks to Silver Hare and Showtime for making it happen.

In the Nashville Grand Prix on 8/5/23 I had a great drive from last to 1st. A technical infraction forced me to start last despite qualifying 1st. Drove to the front and an accident involving the 2 leaders and a few other well-timed yellows cleared the path for a 1st place podium finish. Also got the fastest lap of the race. Detroit Grand Prix TA2 Race 2 Opening Laps in race I drove from last to 2nd and then ended up with win due to post race penalties.

This was a crazy one to say the least. In T1 of lap 1 I got spun out, sending me to 44th (last). I drove to 13th doing laps 3 tenths faster than the leaders, then a red flag came out with 8 laps to go. This bunched the field up and gave me a good chance. Ended up getting into contact with another driver in prefinal with both of us ending up off track and had to start final 33rd (thankfully didn't end up in LCQ like Saturday; drove from 39th to 6th but the Gopro froze so I didn't get video). In Sunday's race of the SCCA Memorial Monster Major I set a new track record for a spec Miata drafting behind my teammate Chuck Mactutus. They recently repaved the track so a lot of old records are being broken given the track is so much faster now.

Fast Lap in the Nitro Motorsports Hunt Brothers Pizza Ford Mustang TA2 car at VIR. Ended up qualifying on pole after this practice session.

Lost a chain in pre-final and had to start this one in row 21. Made it up to 12th at the finish with the fastest lap but just didn't have time to make it up much further (maybe if it had been raining :) ). Passed around 20 /- karts in the 1st 2 laps.

I started this race 2nd but ended up getting punted accidentally in the first lap and fell back to around 30th but was able to make it back up to 9th in part because so many cars went off track in this race. This was a great race where my kart didn't quite have the pace it had earlier in the weekend but I started on pole which allowed me to stay up with the lead pack and battle. I fell back as far as 5th fairly early on but still managed to hang on for the win with some battling back in forth in the last few laps. This was the final of the Rok GP Senior race in Ocala on the 21st. Ryan Norberg had the faster kart at the end but I was able to get out to an early lead and then he got caught battling other karts trying to catch me. 4 Karts all crossed the finish line within 2 tenths with Thomas Annunziata just barely nudging out Ryan for 2nd by a couple hundredths. In Saturday's pre-final I drove from 9th to 4th but I ended up getting DQ'd for rear width being hair off so I had to start the final last. The kart was hooked up well and had multiple purple laps passing through the field. While I was upset with the DQ and having to start last it made for a really fun race.
