the biggest thing i am currently noticing in my lower mmr (2k), admittedly i am still green with less than 500 games played so far... people refuse to take tormentor, at any stage of the game... and i don't get it why, no matter how much i ask them to come and do it they refuse to do it... that's insane because you are just giving up a shard... that is worth 1.4k... why, why do people not go for it... and it's people that have THOUSANDS of games... i get it they sucks just as bad as me cause after that many games they are still 2k but WHY?... and another thing... god forbid you dare to actually do the correct thing and push lanes... if you don't join a fight to go and farm you will get abused and reported for doing the right thing, so there's no "correct" way of doing things aside from actually joining your teammates in their suicidal quest and that frustrates the hell out of me... and again these are people that have 2-3-4-5k games compared to my <500 games... and yet they act more stupid than me which is insane because i kinda expect people with that many games to at least know what works and what not by that point...

my routine as a position 4 these days is to always rotate mid at minute 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14. sometimes i rotate as early as 4 if offlane's really doing well. enemy mid laners HATE it when supports rotate to secure runes, what more if you never let them get a single power rune the entire early game. it tilts the fuck out of them and mid laners are big babies. they start typing in all chat, blaming their supports for not rotating mid to secure runes.

Is this also applicable in today's update?

Hi Ashan, this is a great video..I've been looking for mechanics of half-pull for awhile now. I have 3 clarifications: 1. When is it better to stack pull vs half pull? I've noticed against wave clearer offlaner, it can be a bad idea to stack pull since sometimes they just take everything. 2. You mentioned you should not pull if the creeps are pushing into you. Does this hold true for a double stack pull as well? 3. Sometimes it feels impossible to reblock the hard camp after they unblock it (clockwork, pudge, 2 v 1) and going out might mean death. how do you handle these type of blocking scenarios? 4. I know in general if you pull at the 45 waves you can lose the lotus flower. Is it never worth it to pull from either small or hard as 4/5 and lose the lotus in a trade even if means better equilibrium? Thank you

Hi Ashan, thanks for the detailed video. I have 3 clarifying questions: 1. You mentioned that the creeps wont lose vision of you up until the stairs. Is that true even when Marci is going between the trees for a short while? 2. If the enemy brings your creeps past the tower in response or alternatively if they dont, who is taking exp from the second wave meeting? Should the support go there or the offlaner? 3. Is it wrong to cut the creeps to the front of the tier1? You mentioned also not to let the enemy wave hit your tower, should you hold it at your t1, loop it around your tower, or just drag through tower ideally?

I saw that you have a lot of game on skywrath mage. Could you please create similar guide for this hero also in the future?

i'd totally play this hero but i am VERY bad at creep cutting. even though i managed to get to 6k mmr, i always struggled with creepwave manipulation during hard lane matchups. and it looks like creep cutting is a very integral part if you wanna play nyx because his laning is not good.

Thanks for the great video Ahsan! Quick question: Can you generalize what a pos 5 should do when the enemy pos 4 has successfully dragged the creepwave behind tower. I know the pos 5 can try to catch the enemy wave and connect the two but what if its too late for that?

Is their any matchup where you would actually take the mana burn facet over the movementspeed one? Like against a Medusa, Storm etc.? Or is it just not good enough?

I have been playing pos 3 for a really long time but I’ve also played a ton of pos 4. I’m gonna switch totally to pos 4 because I’m found my best heroes are pos 4s and my offlane pool is limited. This was a sweet guide thanks.

Only thing i didnt rly get was, you just skip boots completely if u go for 2 null?

One extra tip from a turbo nyx spammer: khanda, or at least the phily, is a must. Flare after vendetta to set up a sure stun. I mainly play nyx as offlaner or pos4. Alas, turbo being what it is, not sure how practical it is to get one in ranked games, but the next time I do go ranked, I'll be sure to find out.

i have been a nyx spammer but not in the recent patches. Its true that nyx laning is quite weak and you showed us how to manage it with better lane techniques. But i want to ask, is dagon mandatory for nyx? if I'm just gonna leave it at lvl 1, would it be wise to skip it for lets say dagger or fs? is aghanin really just a luxury item or there's some worth in skipping dagon in favor of early aghs?

Dont trust any videos of this type "pick /hero_name and win". The only gain mmr that is possible, its when you're spamming hero which personally you like.

People even in my bracket at 7k still sometimes forget the really critical thing that is communicating you want to atleast be somewhat coordinated so your team would also know what you playing for if its ganking or saying you dont want to fight and telling your team to push the waves instead of feeding try use your chat for helping your allies understand what youre thinking and never be toxic (until the end of the game atleast) people will most likely wont listen to those who were toxic to them

Captains are not always support. Quinn for example. Another thing is it is better to climb as a core role. Because you dont know which rofler is playing on mid or carry. I climbed to 5k mmr playing mostly as a mid and pos 5. I can tell you that as a pos 5😢 when you win 2 lanes for your team, being dominant in your safe lane and ganking other lane, stomping mid game and taking rosh, there is a high chance that the aegis holder thinks he is something else and throws the game in high ground. I as a core have never thrown a winning game in high ground since I reached 4k mmr . Plus you dont know if your carry is just a copy paste deafult item builder without thinking, and buys useless items. But if you are conciuess about what you buy and do, yoh never throw games with the gold advantage you have. Speaking of bad early game, good core players always find space for themselves, or can punish greedy enemy team when they dive under tower, unlike your afk luna with level 12 (meaning level 2 ult) no tping and tilting cuz his team is feeding although all enemy heroes left with 20-30 percent hp.

I am sure this same venom later blamed ogre for picking it as a safe laner xD
