Ugh. Peter Murphy. What a god in his own reich. Just can't seem to get enough of that voice.

I prefer the original actually... Tim sounds more depressed and Peter sounds too powerful imo.

I'm in the minority here, but this version is... in my opinion... the superior version. Again, that subjective claim, not objective one.

I always loved this song. I've always thought Peter Murphy had one of the best voices in rock. This version gives me goosebumps over and over. I would really love to see an HD release of this. Tim's version is great. But, Peter Murphy...wow.

I am always a SKOLD fan first and foremost (hell, my old AOL screen name was SKOLDISGOD) but I like how this brings a totally different vibe to the song. The song was already haunting, especially for KMFDM fans like me who bought it on Adios' release date only to get home and turn on the news to see Columbine coverage. But SKOLD's take is a bit more rough around the edges that works with the feeling of loss while Murphy brings his classic vocals making it way more Ultra Goth-y Beat

This is amazing. I think the reason it was shelved though was because of his delivery with the early lyrics; seems off. Could have just re-recorded them, but perhaps he wasn't available by then. Too bad because other than that his version is stellar.

I like both versions for different reasons. I think this Peter Murphy version is beautiful but I also appreciate the other from Skold. Peters voice is strong and hypnotic. the chorus portion with Peter's voice is a little over powering which I think should be turned down a tad bit but it does still work once the song gets going into the second verse. Overall, this isn't a pissing contest between Murphy and Skold, we just need to listen and enjoy the song and appreciate the talent of both KMFDM and Murphy.
