This is my tribute to Sonny James, the "Southern Gentleman". May 1, 1929 - February 22, 2016. To the best of my knowledge all but 2 of Sonny James recordings are here to enjoy. This is the one stop for Sonny James songs and information about him. Of the 25 singles Sonny James released between October 1964 and July 1972, twenty-one were # 1 on the country charts, three reached # 2 and one "stalled" at # 3. According to Billboard statistics, he spent more time in the # 1 chart position between 1960 and 1979 than any other country artist,a total of 57 weeks. He still holds the uncontested record of having the most consecutive #1 country hits in a row. To learn more about Sonny James be sure to check out the following:

Are there as many amazing songs still being written. This is just one of thousands of classics released week after week and month after month in the 70s. What a blessing to have been a kid back then.

Me too💥
My dads all time favorite singer. He would take our family to Ponderosa Park in Warren,Ohio i believe, and we would see Sonny and his Southern Gentleman and other artists like the Statler Brothers. I didnt know it at the time, but my brother and I were watching some of the Best singers of All Time. Thanks Dad and Mom.
I was born in 1955 and as a toddler l used to walk round in a circle for the whole song saying..".the cat came back"....so l was told!!!!!!😂
"Scouts?"
"They've come here tonight...to scout the CHIEFS! The toughest team in the Federal League..."
I love this song very much since I am still living in Cuyo, Palawan, Philippines during my high school years there in mid 60's onward. We are now here in Guagua, Pampanga, Philippines since January 2020.
Esa maravillosa música merece ser escuchada aquí y en el cielo, hermosa, preciosa, y mi más sentido pésame a las actuales generaciones que no disfrutan esta genialidad ❤
