Oh no problem! I try to get out as much as I can. I'm not going to have as many outings next year (bunch of life changes coming), but I'll try to get as many trips and videos up as possible. The adventure is everything!

It's wild that it was only an average size among the ones at that spot. There were some so big they gave me a jump-scare me when I saw them.

Very cool. I cringe sometimes at how many bad IDs and how little I understood about range and the different species in my early videos. Hopefully it provides some comic relief. 😁

Yeah both are so cool. Unfortunately the sleepers are like 95% easier to find at night, which makes fishing a lot harder.

I agree. SO many people out there just not giving a crap that there's a whole world going on around them. I totally get that, especially on vacation, but when they are this obvious, and when they're putting their kids in danger with their lack of attention or care, it's seriously annoying.

Me too. I was hoping it was a different species of searobin - there are so many of them.

@@keepinitreel4306 never caught a leopard. I've only caught striped and Northern searobin species. I might be able to get a bighead without too much travel.

@@johnaufderheide6117 I never caught one until a few years ago, and since my first, I haven't caught any other searobin species. Weird how that works sometimes.

@@keepinitreel4306 Location, Location, Location... 😉. We are in Maryland and have been catching those species from trips from VA to MA. Haven't caught one yet in GA or FL.

@@johnaufderheide6117 Ah that makes sense. I used to catch monster-sized Striped Searobin in the Long Island Sound. I often fished a double bucktail jig for flounder, and I'd get two of those big searobins on at the same time, opening their "wings" up against the current, pulling in opposite directions...the fights were pretty epic sometimes.

Truly....it just blows my mind sometimes

I really love nurse sharks for some reason. It wasn't what I was looking for on this trip, but they're really cool.

Yeah, I didn't get many of the big fish I was after for lunches and dinners, but the species mix was pretty good.

@@keepinitreel4306 when in doubt, hammer the grunts, porgies, sail cats etc etc that plague the FL shorelines in the salt...

@@werftv4580 Yep, there is almost always something in the water that'll bite and keep you busy in Florida.

Thanks! It's been awhile since I've caught one, and it is one of the nicest marked I've caught.

I should have called this video "Florida Fright". 😁 Night fishing in this part of Florida is spooky because there are so many gators, coyotes, bears and wolves (there are still some red wolves in Florida - one literally bumped into me once when I was deep into the woods looking for a remote fishing pond). And they all get more active at night.

@@keepinitreel4306 no joke there.. FL is a wild place for sure... I miss living there plenty, though I never lived that far south, I fished it plenty as a young man for sure.... life is short, grind hard... lol

They're very similar, but you can see the differences when they're side-by-side. And there are structural/morphological differences you have to zoom in on, like Warmouth having 3 anal fin spines, while Ozark Bass have 6.

Yep, 7 for the day, abut twice that for the trip. And I missed out on at least that many more. The darters are insane in Missouri-Arkansas. Day 4 is hopping across north Arkansas, looking for my first Ozark Bass.
