Thanks - the next video is the night session that's more successful. Shadow Bass are really cool. I've only caught a few in my life, and always when I'm targeting something else. They're like ghosts...they just kind of show up once in a blue moon.
You put in the miles might as well make the most out of bad conditions. Pretty cool shadow bass. Not sure where you were but you need to be in the White River system in Western side of the state for Ozark bass.
Yep, I get down there later in the trip. I had their range plotted out, but I wasn't sure where I was, given the up and down (north & south) driving pattern I did heading west, and skipping so many spots with bad conditions. I might have to start putting the watersheds on my trip planner, to make the videos a little better informed.
Whenever you cross the bridge you go into my hometown Cape Girardeau, I hope it wasn't too bad. Also if you're looking for good biodiverse spots with clear water you should check out Saline creek, the Little piney river, the Niangua river, Black river, and the Castor river.
Thanks man! I hit at least 3 of those, and probably tributaries of the other two. I can remember that the Niangua produced some good Orangethroats, and a Black River trib gave me a couple new species.
Nice finish to a tough day. The shadow bass was nicely patterned. First time seeing that species.
