I think it all comes down to the internal alignment of the drives it's a slim bit of plastic that has to hit a tiny switch over time they'll wear or slip over each other and sometimes I don't think there is a reasonable explanation it just happens

It's usually from the internals of the module being damaged misaligned. The best way to sort it is to replace the analogue modules. If its after the replacement then it's lime they have not been seated properly

This method only works if the stem is good I've had a few break on me since doing this

Occasionally, the centre post of the analogue comes loose and spins in the module, meaning It won't unscrew. There are ways to get around this, but unless you have experience, I wouldn't recommend it as you can easily break either board beyond repair.

They more than likely do but it only took about 15 min to reball and for something like this I find it quite relaxing. Don't get me wrong I do use stencils for a lot of my work but this was a one off job for a customer and to add the cost of a stencil just for this job would increase the cost to a customer.

Sounds like the post has snapped in the modules it happens sometimes if you are uk i can help you fix this

@@mev85 it cab be fixed but the analogue needs to be removed while the board is in the frame which is tricky to do without the proper equipment

​@@CCRepairsUK ​@CCRepairsUK well my controller works but i wanted to see if tightening them helped with the wobble. Or if there's something else you can do beneath it that you can do to reduce the wobble.

youd need to replace the analogue to fix the issue@@mev85

the new slim drives are alot different id just make sure all connectors on the drive are connected properly also make sure the drive mech is lined up as it may not be hitting the micro switches to tell it to take a disc

Did it take the post off the analogue and leave it in the cap?

I think it depends who put the locktite on in the factory. I've had a few break too

@@CCRepairsUK Yeah i've done it a few times and this is the first time it's happened to me. Must have been a lot of locktite! Luckily i have a replacement joystick, but i'm not the best at soldering and i'm even worse at de-soldering.

Could be a number of things causing it from one of the motors to an issue on the daughter board or even an issue on the motherboard without seeing the console it's really hard to give a diagnosis

It could depend on the model of ps5 you have there is 3 revisions with two different drives

Good method to use 👍 if I hadn't had my phone in hand it's usually how I hold the controller but a little difficult to film as well lol

Check to make sure all the connections are secure. The flex cable may be damaged, and if not seated properly, it will give you the symptoms you describe 👍

@CCRepairsUK lol yeah definitely ssd then mate. It's basically trying to boot the SSD, failing, trying safe mode and can't get there either because the SSD is dying. I'd clone that SSD ASAP bud

@@CCRepairsUKI Tried a different power cable and it worked for like 5 min today and then it turned off after making 2 small beep sound.and there is power on the metal plates and usb ports.Does that mean it is only a dust issue and need to be cleaned?? Please reply...

@_kiranjose_6345 it could do yes there is a chance a good clean and some new thermal compounds would help new pads and paste

Depending on the issue causing it to not work it could be a couple of things there is the power button board the ribbon cable and it could be other things causing it too
