      Buddy had been dealing with health issues for years now. He was partially paralyzed a few years ago due to a herniated disc. The vets we went to managed to correct it, but shortly after he was diagnosed with diabetes. This led to the loss of his eyesight about 6 months later. For the last three years, we have been treating his IBD, IBS, chronic liver disease, and chronic kidney disease. Last October he was in the hospital due to pancreatitis, ketoacidosis, his liver was failing and he was jaundiced, he developed pneumonia, and was at real risk of getting sepsis. The vet gave him a 50/50 chance of making it through that, and he fought through like a champ. Back in March, he was diagnosed with lymphoma. My family had been having the talk about when would be the right time to put him down. Thankfully, the choice was made for us because he had a major stroke sometime in the night on August 5, and in the morning on August 6 we drove him to the vet to be put to sleep. He was a trooper and the vet always said that "he is such a tough little guy" because he would always bounce back from the brink of death. I did what I could for him, spent a fortune on medical care and medication, and I would do it all over again. Thank you to everyone who has commented on this video. It means a lot to me and my family.

    They can’t wait to see us when we leave, even if it’s just to the mail box. They go crazy when we wake up. They won’t go to bed without us and won’t eat well when we leave for a couple days. They love us unconditionally and will protect us from everything. They are a humans best friend. The only thing they bad about them is they only live for a short time. Just so you know they are exactly like losing a family member because they are one! I hope you heal from this and know one day you will see them again! GOD Bless you my friend! ❤

    Chef's knives are not supposed to be used on hard stuff like bone. The Babish, which I also own and end enjoy, is a soft blade. A harder steel will retain a sharper edge, but is likely more brittle. That's probably why the Babish survived the chicken experience when the Shun did not.

    Oh man, with the door latch you better use your foot if you have decent shoes on.

    • @bridgesbrothersbbq1093
      @bridgesbrothersbbq1093 5 месяцев назад

      I actually use a fire poker, axe, and/or shovel to open that latch. It gets extremely hot, and if touched with bare hands it will burn fingerprints off. I usually leave it cracked open about 1/4 inch to help with airflow and ease to open to add wood.

  • @berniestewart1738
    @berniestewart1738 5 месяцев назад

    I always tell people that using an offset and playing baseball or any other sport is very similar. The only way you can get better is by practicing and learning from our mistakes and successes. Every fire is different. I’m definitely thinking about upgrading to one of those. I have both of the OJ’s not the white Bronco OJ.

    • @bridgesbrothersbbq1093
      @bridgesbrothersbbq1093 5 месяцев назад

      I agree with your analogy. It has taken a lot of fires, ruined food, and hours of practice for me to get it to where I can easily maintain a good fire now. I have also learned that different woods act differently, humidity plays a role, and so does outside temperature. I have also learned that my favorite woods to smoke with are hickory, oak (white oak, red oak, live oak), peach, and pecan.

    A chefs knife with a delicate tip does not compare to a cleaver/chef combo when it comes to chopping or butchery. That shun deserved better! The “Clef” knife is built for abuse, in contrast. 🧐 I could tell immediately where the design inspiration came from, though.

      The gazebo was from Amazon. Just search for "MASTERCANOPY 8 x 5 Grill Gazebo Outdoor BBQ Gazebo Canopy with 2 LED Lights" and it was $159.95. The gazebo was a decent purchase. It went through a few hurricanes, thunderstorms, and other severe weather without getting damaged at all. I moved to a new house last year and could not take it with me unfortunately, but I plan on buying a larger version of it in the future. I would recommend getting one. It was easy to put together, was lightweight, and was very useful. I would buy a bigger one though if you have the room for it. I hope this helps!
