I have a question as a teen girl who want to serve as a Green Beret in the future, do men and women do all the same operations and stuff ( ex jumping out of helicopters or well, specially operations) or it only the men? Thanks!
If a woman becomes a Green Beret, there’s zero discrimination, everyone will be held to the same standard and conduct whatever mission is required! That’s a lofty goal, but I love it! Best of luck with your future endeavors, and if I can assist in any way, I’m always here, hit me up.
I’m in ait as a 91B wheeled vehicle mechanic, I’m an e2 with a wife and two kids any advice? I’m having a really rough time traumatizing events took place less than a month before I left and I’m struggling
I got you brother! Matter of fact, now that I know you’re struggling, I’ll will give you my undivided attention when you comment on my videos…so as soon as I see a comment from you, I’ll prioritize your comment above everyone else’s. Sorry I didn’t see your comment sooner, I am married with children as well, and I’m working on three videos simultaneously. First off, give yourself some serious credit for passing BCT after dealing with trauma right before attending, that’s huge! A lot of people wouldn’t even have shipped, but you DID. Next, remember how much this is going to do for your Wife and kids (extra money and benefits)! Are you Active Duty or Guard? I want you to get help if needed, but, I think you should do it low key to avoid the possibility of being discharged. You’ve already got Basic knocked out and I think in the future you’ll be very upset with yourself if you decide to ditch this thing now. If you’re struggling pretty bad, pull an instructor aside who you have faith in, tell them that by no means are you looking to leave training, but, you would like to talk to someone about some trauma you are dealing with. If you see someone for help, make sure you reiterate that you’re not looking to be discharged, you just need to get a few things off your chest. Be tactful with who you talk to about anything…once you get through AIT you can get all the help in the world and not be penalized, but during Initial Active Duty Training (BCT/AIT), you kind of have to walk on eggshells. I encourage you to push through this and WE can go from there…you’ve got more than half of the hard part knocked out. If you want to talk personally to me, you can contact me on IG. My name on there is SFCBeitz. I don’t check IG much so if you send a message to me on there, let me know by leaving a comment on here. You are NOT alone.
I don’t even know you but I’m proud of you for two specific reasons, you still shipped and you reached out for help. That is what a REAL man does.

Hey Sgt you may have a video about it already but I was wondering how is it reclassing to infantry? What advice do you have for an infantry reclass? And how is promotion as an 11b? Thanks
Depending upon the MOS you’re coming from, it could be a bit shocking…so say you were admin or a cook, then you become Infantry, it’ll be a crazy transition, especially if you’re on Active Duty, but it’s manageable with the right mindset. I don’t really have any crazy advice, just make sure you’re in reasonably good shape, you definitely don’t want to be falling out of runs or anything like that. I think it’s very important to gain the respect of your peers. Unlike a non-combat MOS, everyone is looking left and right counting on each other to help them survive…so you need to be able to pull your weight, and proving you can starts in training. Promotion in the Infantry is one of the quicker MOS’s to be promoted in because it’s the largest MOS, therefore has the most opportunities to move up. Hope that helps! Oh, I do have a video on changing your MOS, it’s older but still relevant, I’ll link it below. Can I change my MOS? ruclips.net/video/uceVFqjYo0g/видео.htmlsi=O-qcm7_2gyl4BvWe
Is it me or is everybody holding a gun like this now?
Not typically, just soldiers with more advanced weapons training. In basic courses it is still taught to be held the traditional way…but once you start using lasers it almost doesn’t matter how the weapon is held, as long as the laser is on the target and you have stability, you’re not missing…especially if your laser is zeroed well.
@ well said
Ill make it out ...... If goggins can than why cant i
You got this!
What a cool test!
I agree, and it’s just good skills to know to make you more well rounded!
@@SFCBEITZ we didn't have this in the Marine Corps. We had other tests but nothing like this one. Some things the Army just did better. I'll say that having participated in some Army competitions while in the Corps.
Thanks for your service! I enlisted quite a few Prior Service Marines and several of them mentioned that they were transferring because the Army had more high speed schools and they liked that they could pick their specific MOS rather than just the field. Ive heard that the Army promotes quicker and has more duty stations as well. I loved working with you guys overseas when I was an Infantryman. Seemed like we operated well together even though we had minimal training together.
I sure wish I had that guidance way back then. I would probably have gone Army Ranger instead of USMC infantry. Same culture. Rangers are different. I had one from each Bat at Quantico sniper school and all were solid dudes. They were basically, Marines. If I would have gone that route, I probably would’ve stayed in.
I was in a recon platoon in Alaska, and the one thing I will say is it's very difficult to get sniper school outside of being in a scout platoon. Usually the E5 team leaders are B4 qualified and the team is basjcally an apprenticeship until they are ready to go to sniper school
This sounds a lot like SFAS
Great video; way more in depth than a lot of videos out there. Also, do you have any tips on passing the swimsuit competition portion of SFAS?
Appreciate you! My advice is the same as when people ask me how to get better at running, I say “run” lol sounds simple but the best way to get better at swimming events is to swim…I use to hate running so I would always try to do different cardio to help me get better at running, but nothing helped more than running itself. Become one with the water! I grew up on the beach so I’ve always had a higher level of swimming ability.
Good summary, may I suggest including the 18Z for the SFODA Team Sergeant.
Good call, even had the 18Z in my notes with a bunch of information beside it but missed it, which is unfortunate because they’re usually one of the most experienced soldiers in the detachment, correct?
@@SFCBEITZ Yes, the Team Sergeant is the Leader of the detachment's day-to day activities usually with the most experience and expertise of all Team members on the ODA with the SF Warrant Officer with the second most experience. The 180A is prior enlisted with one of the core 18 series MOS's (18B, 18C, 18D or 18E) plus a graduate of the 18F (SF Intelligence Sergeant's course. The 18A has overall command and directs the mission priorities and is the face of the SFODA for diplomacy when interfacing with either guerrillas (in UW) or host nation forces commanders during FID missions. A great ODA is when the Team Leader (18A) and Team Sergeant (18Z) support each other and compliment the others abilities. The Team Leader focuses on taking care of the men and the Team Sergeant on the mission.
I admire all those who serve. God bless each and everyone.
Thank you very much, we all appreciate the support! God bless!
Having type 1 diabetes 😳
I’m sorry to hear that 😑
Is it possible to change mos during the BCT ? Is it too early ? I’m 68 W and I think the training is already too hard😂
lol are you at BCT right now? If you haven’t shipped yet, you might be able to but if you’re already at BCT you won’t be able to lol here’s a video I made a long time ago about changing your MOS, it’s still relevant: Can I change my MOS? ruclips.net/video/uceVFqjYo0g/видео.htmlsi=27yFLiH1C_jsUAj9

I’ll have to look into how to tag, I don’t know either of them, maybe you could reach out to them and link us!
So when can i sign up, as a junior rn i do it during the summer or this year
You can enlist now, during your junior year. The remainder of the school year, you’ll train with the National Guard one weekend a month, they’ll be prepping you for Basic Training, and then once you finish 11th grade, you’ll ship to Basic Training (during the summer before Senior year), then you’ll come back from Basic Training, start training one weekend a month again while you’re in your Senior year, then after Senior year, you’ll ship out for Advanced Training for your military occupational specialty (your job). As soon as you enlist and go to your first drill weekend, you’ll start getting paid. Does all that make sense? If I confused you just let me know and I’ll break it down another way.
@@SFCBEITZ so if I want to do college do I delay the advance training or is that before
You need to knock out advanced training before college because completing BCT and AIT unlock your college benefits from the Guard. You’ll be getting a lot of money for college between state and federal funding…especially if you join an MOS that comes with the GI Bill Kicker. If it comes with the GI Bill Kicker, it’ll likely come with a sign on bonus too.
@@SFCBEITZ also if I want to get higher level degrees like a masters can I do that through the national guard
Dawson Alexander Matis I’m so proud of you!love Dad
The Green Barrett are in reality the only SF unit in all of the special operations command 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
In the Army you also have Delta Force and the Army Rangers, who conduct special operation missions. Additionally, you have SOAR Night Stalkers, elite soldiers in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment who run international nighttime operations from helicopters...then outside the Army you have Navy SEALS, Raiders and Force RECON teams, and the AF have a couple high level tactical teams.
Ah yes. The Green Barrett
😂
Once again, the training is not the same after 2017. General Sonntag made sure of that. Tell the truth.
Definitely, because that is their name : Special Forces. Its a proper noun

Are there any other types of berets? For example red berets?
Yes, airborne soldiers wear maroon berets, Rangers wear tan berets, and SFAB soldiers wear brown berets! Everyone else wears black berets. I have a recent video on SFAB if you want to check it out! Great question!
Also, I have a couple videos on Army Rangers.
@@SFCBEITZ I see, I thought berets were exclusive for the green
@ green berets are exclusive to Special Forces soldiers, no one else can wear a green beret nor would they dare
Much appreciated content

Retired Green Beret here… Quick, to the point, and informative. Overall a great video. Going to SFAS and starting a career in Special Forces will definitely break the monotony of conventional army insanity over 20 years. If you plan on retiring out of the army, do yourself a favor and try out at selection. You won’t regret it.
Your description of the video is exactly what I was going for. Appreciate the comment, and for the sacrifices you made that almost no one will ever know about.
