I have a lace up pair of these - made in Malaysia or some place like that - it is a great pair of boots - the lace up fit much better than the BOA did - however this is the last time I pay $250 for a pair of boots that isnt made in the US

Have you considered the Boot Bumper from Red Wing? I believe I've had better results with this over the Tuff Toe product. If you've got the time and expertise, I'd like to suggest a DIY video on Boot Bumper application.

30 year Red Wing user. Bought a pair and upper stitching came loose in 4 months. The local store (I didn't know they were franchises) offered me 50% off a new pair. I didn't think that was equitable on a 4 month old boot, but I said not a thing and accepted the deal. New pair had the rubber sole split side to side right on the ball of my foot in 5 months. I had very good reason to believe I'd not be treated equitably, so I emailed Red Wings. Did I mention, I was a 30+ year customer? No answer. No more soup for you, Red Wings.

Tuff toe/shoe goo saved my skatepark rollerskates. If you hit/rub the suede on cement enough times it’s only a matter of time til you bust through the toe box

I just bought two tubes, one tube was extremely hard to push on like insane and it didn’t mix well leaving it bubbled and discoloured. The second tube was amazing came out like butter and mixed well so idk if this is always the case or I got a faulty tube but the second pair of boots looks great

The best use case for this is when the leather has started to wear of in patches and the steel is exposed.

100% looks like shit, when my boots get worn out I’ll just buy new ones as your feet is important so why skimp on this epoxy goo when you should just replace them. A cheap shortcut is junk.

Those look way over-conditioned. I'd put those in the AZ sun and dry air for about 2 weeks 24/7 before they get moldy.

Looking for some good framing boots

I hate the look of the tough toe on my traction lites but it’s a necessity for my work and it really extends the life of the boot by a lot especially if you’re job requires you to be on your knees .. that’s when the toe of the boot starts wearing against the surface your standing on so tough toe is defintely worth it in my opinion but yeah doesn’t look pretty sucks because I love the look of the redwing traction lites without the tough toe

I love my Iron Rangers, I have 4 pair, 4 colors, but the copper is my favorite. I notice it looks better somewhat dry, they've also darkened almost close to the amber harness. How can i keep that great copper color?

I did this to an older pair of steel toe boots pretty worn with some paint on bed liner. Worked pretty good.

Your video is the best one I've seen showing how to get a good coat, effectively and quickly. Curlers use tough toe on their drag foot and many of us need to do this.

I use Neats foot oil on my Redwing iron rangers, and it darkens at first but soon lightens! Then seal it with mink oil, or polish on one pair. And the polished ones look very smart. And it seals the oils in for ages! With mink oil, it just looks slightly polished, but natural! I even sanded some scratches out of my very old ones then oiled them, and they look new! Great boots!

I'm a petroleum/ethanol hauler and this stuff is completely unaffected by gasoline, diesel and ethanol. I often clean the Tuff Toe covering with a spill towel after cleaning up some spillage. Worth the money, and then some.

My rough and tough copper Red Wings turned black after only 4 or 5 weeks . All the experts including redWing don't have any advice or concern. They didn't offer any cleaning or refunding. The leather boot also shrinks every night so every morning I wake my neighbors up screaming. They call the polic, if I'm lucky there is a good looking one. But ya know Isms rather have a pair of good boots. They are my only pair of boots I own, because am a homeless man, and after 2 years in the shelter system,I got my own apt and was exciting about starting over..so I invested in a pair of boots..Frustrating in the end.

My boots turned black in 1 month..I tried everything, ..you should tell buyers especially first time buyers they need to use a silicon spray to stop the leather from turning black.

The boot bumper works very well.

He is using a nice little gun adapter to squeeze out the tuff- toe, in reality you need two hands to squeeze the plungers down. Also, he is correct when he says size 13, and up, you may need more tuff-toe. I had just enough for size 13.
