How to Crochet a Sherpa Pumpkin Pillow
hi, what are the names of the other yarn colors featured in this video?
Hi there! I used Lily Sugar N Cream cotton yarn in the colors jute, ecru, and indigo
I love this pattern, thank you
My pleasure! I'm glad you like it
Attempting this, can’t find tshirt yarn so going with #5 or larger. I’ve only made dish cloths. Hope this isn’t beyond my skill level! Thank you
These look great with other types of bulky yarn too (like wool)! I hope you enjoy :)
This is a much better tutorial where she puts her finger inside the circle. I had trouble doing the tutorial from another person where she holds the circle between fingers. This is beginner-friendly <3
Glad it helped!
Thank you this is such a cute idea!
Glad you like it!
What material is this yarn made of? Is it cotton/wool/acrylic?
It's cotton!
LOVE this as I am a beginner. I've been trying t-shirt yarn with projects. It works with your pattern just fine. The only difference is that I chain two for the zig zag edge as "tarn" is so thick. Thanks for the tutorial!
Nice!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I bet these look really nice with t-shirt yarn :)
these are so pretty! do you have a matching placemat pattern?
Thank you! I have a matching trivet pattern that has more rounds, but it's not quite large enough for a placemat
Your doing a treble stitch at the beginning not double crotchet
This tutorial is in US terms so I use a US double. But if you're used to UK terms, then yes, that's a UK treble!
I'm very confused. So after row 5 which rows do you repeat and in what order???
You would repeat Rows 2-5 as I showed them in the video until you get to the width that you want! For example, for the medium size, start with a ch 47, and when you get to Row 6, repeat Rows 2-5 until the end of Row 13 (Row 6 = Row 2, Row 7 = Row 3, Row 8 = Row 4, Row 9 = Row 5, Row 10 = Row 2, etc...) Hope this helps!
Great tutorial. You teach well
Thank you so much!
This was the simplest, most easy to follow, well explained crochet tutorial I’ve ever watched. Thank you!!
Aww thank you so much! :)
Thank you
My pleasure!
Never made them before, but excited to try. Hopefully they don't need stuffing
You can use anything soft for stuffing. Yarn scraps, old (clean) socks or t-shirt cut up, stuffing from another pillow …
@matildarei thank you! I'm still quite new (2 years) it would have taken me awhile to think of that lol
@@taralacey5076 I hope you enjoy making them! And yes, you can use other things for stuffing like @matildarei said. I like to use yarn scraps!
@@Dogwood.Crochet great idea! I have lots of those
Where did you get your yarn?
I just got it at my local craft store! It's Lily Sugar N Cream cotton yarn by Yarnspirations
Love your tutorial ❤
Thank you so much! :)
Love the texture!
Thank you!
I LOVE fall & spring…But the only reason I like summer is because of summer break and since summer is over, School is starting😔
Aww I get that
ahahaha so true!!😂🎃
:)
Love the tri ify stitch ❤❤❤
Nice😊😊
Thanks! :)
But if you wanted to make it larger, is the increase still 2 stitches in one and 1 stitch in one and repeat? Because I did that, I'm on round 6, and it's looking soooo wonky 😅
Hi! Here's what to do to add more rounds: Round 5: *1 hdc in the first 3 st/s, 2 hdc in the next st, repeat from * around, sl st to join to the first st of the round, ch 2 (40) Round 6: *1 hdc in the first 4 st/s, 2 hdc in the next st, repeat from * around, sl st to join to the first st of the round, ch 2 (48)
Great song choice!!!
Thanks!!
What size hook are you using?
6.5mm hook!
You just popped up on my newsfeed. I watched the pumpkin making and it is adorable. You are an awesome teacher. I really enjoyed this. I made one and it came out so cute and I used a cinnamon stick for the stem.❤❤
@@catherinekostecki5740 Aww you just made my day! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Adorable idea to add a cinnamon stick for the stem!
3 yarns? no way! I saw that if you end the yarn on the same side as the starting chain, you can sew the seam up then top without cutting the yarn.
Yes, that could work too! And yep 3 yarns is a lot - it gives it a really chunky and textured look. You could always follow the pattern with a single strand of bulky weight and adjust the stitch count to be the size you want! Happy crocheting :)
@@Dogwood.Crochet yes thank you!
This is the best magic circle technique I’ve ever seen. I’ve learned to avoid patterns that begin with “Make a magic circle” because other techniques over tried make me feel frustrated at the very beginning of my project. Wonderful tutorial overall, thank you.
Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear that and glad you have conquered the magic circle now! :)
How much yarn do you have left? is it enough to make two?
There's not enough left over to make two unfortunately. But you could make a smaller single-stranded basket!
Thank you! What all has said. You're a great instructor! ❤
Thank you so much! I'm glad it was helpful :)
Hi !
hi!!
So cute. I need that.❤
Thank you! It's so fun to make
Sooooo cute!!!🍁🫶🍁🫶🍁
Thank you so much!!
Very nice edging.
Thank you very much!
Thank you so much! I love this basket!!!❤
You are so welcome! I'm glad you like it!
ive never crocheted before so i have 0 experience... im doing okay making these but it wont stay flat, how do i avoid it rounding up?
I would guess it has to do with your tension. Try making the stitches a bit looser as you crochet them and that should help!
Hi Shannon. Your tutorials are so clear and easy to follow. The way you do the magic circle in this tutorial is way less complicated than other tutorials I've tried. Since I've been following you my crochet skills have really improved and I have a lot more confidence. I'm busy creating more coasters for everyone I know. You rock!!
Aww thank you so much!! You just made my day :) I'm glad you find my tutorials helpful and that you're enjoying crocheting a bunch of coasters!
Those are so cute!! Will definitely be checking it out!!❤🍁❤️🍁❤️🍁❤️🍁❤️
@@CarolynLopez45 thank you!!☺️🎃
Wish we could add a pic of our finished coasters
I wish so too! You can post them on instagram and tag me @dogwood.crochet. I would love to see them!
Beautiful
Thank you!
ive tried to follow this very beginning but every time i try i end up with an extra stitch at the end of the first row after the single crochet 😅what am i doing
Make your slip knot, then count the chains. The chain on your hook doesn't count. I hope this helps!!
HIIIIIIIII
hi!
I made a king sized in sage like the one on your bed. ❤ Love your work
That's wonderful! Thank you, I'm so glad to hear that :)
Hi❤
Hi!
Such a good tutorial! I already had this yarn on hand from a previous project in a green perfect for spring and summer along with a few other colors, and have already made a few for my sister and I in just 2 days. Absolutely going to be making more soon!
Wonderful, thank you!! Aren't they so fun to make?! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the pattern
Those are so beautiful I am trying to learn to crochet
Thank you! You got this! I have tutorials for most of these if you're interested in following along
@@Dogwood.Crochet thank you I will definitely be checking those out. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much!!
Those are so beautiful! You are so talented ❤
So agree!
@@beeholm8772 thank you so much!!☺️💕
@@Autfrancis thank you!!💕
How many coasters can one ball of that yarn make?
About 16 coasters! Each of my coasters weighed 7 g and my skein was 113 g total.
I am a big fan of this stitch of yours. Its simply amazing and your tutorial is equally amazing and fantastic.keep up the good work.God bless.
Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear that :)
Hi learned with your tutorial how to make the coaster. For me, since my language is Spanish, the explanation is excellent. Thank you so much.
Wow that's so cool! I'm so happy to hear that :)
