Another quick fix to a stuck OPD shutoff is to pick up the tank about 4 inches and slam it down.

nothing worked.. put another tank on, ran it, then put tank that didn't work on.. now it works.

You can also do the same thing by making sure the valve is closed on tank and the grill before installing or attaching any regulator, because the regulator is actually on a fail safe equalization lock out and won’t deliver the correct pressure to the burners. You will actually hear a click of the regulator when you open the tank valve

I have a friend that has one just like your but the press won’t go all they way down. Do you have any suggestions??

I think I've counted 9 or 10 hidden features within these propane and regulator systems that will cause it to not let gas pass through. Each YT video reveals another safety feature to protect me from blowing up.💣

i've got a Hibbard Spencer & Bartlett (HSB) 8 qt that i'm restoring - almost identical to the Enterprise like you've got. my handle is seized though and so the press can't lower or raise. i've use oil everywhere, cleared the oil holes, looked for obvious obstructions - can't find any reason for it not to turn. it's got about an 1/8" of play in either direction. feels a lot like it's intentionally locked, but i can't for the life of me find any mechanism for that. you or anyone else have any ideas?

I try dumping cold water on the tank and valve first, lowering the temperature often lowers the pressure enough without releasing any gas.

The problem is caused by an automatic cut off that's supposed to help if a hose is ruptured. It also cuts off if the tank is over pressure or is tipped too far.

Recently, my propane tanks act like they are empty when they are only about 3/4 full. So, I've been refilling them after they are about 3/4 full. I use them for the RV, so I am wondering if that's the system making sure it has enough propane for the refrigerator before it runs out? It only shows that propane is low for the water heater and it stops turning the water heater on.

The trick worked for about a minute then flame on stove went low again. Any ideas? Why does this work for some anyway? Isn't that just a bleed screw?

I tried this, but still no gas flowing.

I bled my tank 10 times for 2 minutes. Wasted a lot of gas in the end. I just took a screwdriver and pushed it in with a hose. Goes into the tank and push that spring loaded valve which must have been stuck. It went bump and then it always better. Could have saved a quarter of a tank of gas

I have a similar one I cleaned up with a wire wheel and then seasoned it it works real well I use it enough to wear the seasoning is fine
