    I just left a restaurant where I had to order and prepay before service, get my own drink and clean my own table. I hit skip when prompted for the tip, I got 3 chicken strips, 9$ and bowl of soup for 18$ so why should I tip when I’m waiting on my self and food is wayyyyy over priced already, they better be paying their employees well at those prices. I could have made that at home for 5$ they are making money so pay living wages, I’m not giving charity to a restaurant

    It is very difficult to determine who cheats the system and who does not .That and the fact many people just plain dont want to make an effort to better their financial position in life make it very difficult to set up a system that would fix the genuine problem that exists .

    Back in time, I would say to myself, Fuck off what people are thinking about me and don't care what the others have to say for me about my person as individual, because I know who I am even though I didn't have much maturity back in the day I would like to have a clear core set of values and with that choosing in a easy way what I want for my life.

      Extreme left are the far-left ideologists who promote the redistribution of wealth based on the belief that capitalism should be dissolved because it causes social inequality. They are also responsible for pushing wokeism well beyond its roots of fighting for systemic injustices and prejudices to include anything that they find remotely offensive.

    So the guys on the right are WAY more forgiving to the corruption that is so prominent. They dismiss it too casually. Those of us left of center are much more alarmed at the rise and strength of the extreme and stupid misinformed people. It is serious, and the damage being inflicted (look at Project 2025)... it won't be a quick fix. Complacency is their fuel. Nurhan, though I love his calmness, seems to not appreciate to gravity of the seriousness of the radical right. Dom, just because Trump says a few things you relate to and respect - I find it hard forget that he lies about everything else. It is indisputable that he lies about everything. He is not just a typical politician-liar, this guy lies about EVERYTHING and his followers simply do not care that he lies to that degree. I suggest you have been conditioned to accept anything and everything just so that your guy gets to talk about the three or four things you care about. There is no such thing as alternate facts. I'm with you Aki - the degree to which the right has become radicalized is very alarming - especially for those of us who actually still want to get along with everybody. Pat - Biden HAS dealt with the economy. Trickle down or not - the numbers are good. - Al Franken for President, Bill Maher for VP!!!

    Great conversation - lot's of wisdom from the retired old guys ;) I have a couple of comments - there seems to be unicorn-like rainbow cast over "The Family." We seem to think that The Family is where the ball can either get dropped, or taken in for the goal. I don't think the family is as well equipped as we would like it to be - it actually cannot be relied upon as the foundation of all things good. Sure, the four of you are strong family men, but let's not forget that SO MANY families are comprised of not-so-strong people, not so informed people, not so capable people. IMHO, the family unit of the 50's is an illusion today. Just because two people get together to make babies does NOT qualify them to be good parents...but The Family they become. So, all the garbage (flaws-maybe even mental heath flaws) that unqualified people bring to the unit are not suddenly addressed because of children. Those children have become the product of ill equipped parents, and the problems of life compound. Mentally unhealthy folks get together to make even more mentally unhealthy folks - no law against that... The subsequent mental health issues got pushed onto the teachers who are, for sure, better equipped/educated, but are understandably overwhelmed. Enter The Pharmacists - they are in the business of prescribing life long treatments. Tax THEM! Dom seems to be one tough hombre, able to overcome challenges and obstacles, but he is exceptional, not the norm. We should all have his iron gut and can-do attitude. Sometimes little Timmy needs to be told to shake it off so that he can develop an internal survival strategy as opposed to being coddled and victimized/validated. We certainly have catered to people's struggles, but many people take advantage of the unnecessary catering. The herd is weaker now, and we all know what happens to a weak herd. Hey - You guys didn't talk about diet. All that sugar and wheat, all that processed food that we are force fed... for sure it has a chemical effect on the brain and it's development, no?

    I must say, it really is wonderful how you four guys, who are soooo different, can always end up still being friends, respectful friends, and end with a laugh. It's good to know you all. BTW - Dom ended on a VERY true note about this: It all boils down to intelligence! Intelligence allows you to disagree respectfully. Less organized religion, more human values...

  • @Kevin-gi1fk
    @Kevin-gi1fk 2 месяца назад

    The difference between Santa and, say, Jesus, is that no one gets offended to the core if you don't buy into the Santa lie. People have been burned alive for saying they do not believe in Jesus etc. "Santa" has never caused death. Religion is the cause of most wars and death. Religion is designed to control people. No good ever came from religion. Good may have come from people, and they have been religious, but the good had zero to do with religion. As a christian, I was lied to countless times, until I woke up and smelled the bullshit. At that point, I still had to remain silent about my realization because of the hyper sensitivity of the christian masses for calling bullshit! When I finally released myself of the shackles of the christian community, I was free to be a human. Turns out I am a nice guy, a moral guy, a respectable guy, a generous guy, a happy and funny guy, full of faults but still good. The bullshit that Christians are such wonderful beings that do sooooo much good in the name of Jesus is 100% a lie. People do good (or bad) because that's who they are. Same for Allah. Same for Mohammed. Same for ALL RELIGIONS. There are many books of lies. Thor is just as real as Santa and Jesus and the tooth fairy. ALL religions should be OUT of schools and government. As an example - DJT is the worlds biggest piece of orange shit human in the spotlight, and he swore an oath on a sacred bible - it meant absolutely NOTHING!

    Things ARE bad now, and will get worse in many senses. Strong will survive, many will suffer like they never have, and eventually things may get better - but that will be when, like Aki and Nurhan said, more people get involved - the population is too complacent - it will be very costly to take a "sit back nd watch" stance. Our generation messed up our kids generation by being so dam nice to them. They never had the satisfaction of experience of bettering themselves - generally. But, they'll figure it out, the smart and strong will rise up, the weak will cry and die. That's life.

    Sorry Pat, but people buy a lottery ticket for fun - to fantasize about stuff. It's not about being responsible or logical or well informed. If I won 100 Million, it would be a good day for everyone who knows me. If I won a million, I'd go to Sicily with Dom for a nice grappa! As far as government is concerned, at least in Canada winnings are tax exempt :)
