Reason for this is because in the previous list, there was a particular legendary bowler I completely missed and it just didn't sit with me right. I have also slightly changed the order. Brave man to have Bradman at 2 with an average of 100 against Tendulkars average of 54. Remember in Bradman day they played on uncovered wickets but he still averaged 100.

  • @mountainman9145
    @mountainman9145 19 дней назад

    Everyone has their own favourites which is enforced by familiarity and recency bias. In addition Test cricket requires different bowlers for different wickets. For example if the ball is swinging you would look no further than Wasim Akram. If you wanted a bowler to contain a rampant batsman look no furthet than Joel Garner. If you had a dead wicket look no further than McGrath, Marshall or Lillee. My point horses for courses.

    Malcolm Marshall could be a right choice. Missing out Michael Holding, Jeff Thompson, and Kapil Dev is a shocker. But they are all good. This list is far better than many other. It is never easy. The Calypso Kings were the best. Recently I was watching less popular Wayne Phillips; simply awesome. In their hey days, upon watching I felt, Holding, Roberts, Croft, Garner, and Marshall are simply unplayable, yet they were competing with each other for wickets. Mr. Hadlee took all the wickets because at that time there was no competition for him among Kiwis. So number of wickets can be fooling. I am glad this list is not compiled based on it. Thank you.

    For me , dale steyn is probably in top 3. With red ball in hand, he is arguably the greatest. He delivered this in batting era. So for me, he is the best. What an action and swing ! Malcom marshal is second for me. Never seen him live though.

    Sobers unique. Kallis rightfully at 2. Botham at 3, with the ability to change the course of the game on his own with either bat or ball, and inspire his team mates along with him; winning games which should not have been won. Imran at 4; reliably performing at a high level, playing amidst an inconsistent team. Hadlee at 5; methodical and unrelenting, probing for a wicket. Kapil at 6; always driving forward wanting to win. After Keith Miller at 7, the list becomes arbitrary. Sobers and Kallis both holding their positions in the team with either bat or ball. Both brilliant cricketers. The others being bowling all-rounders, with the bat of Botham setting him apart. Fun fact: Imran, Kapil, Hadlee, and Botham all played during the same era, making comparison equitable.

    I read several of those comments and it really surprising to me to hear so much nonsense, who is the greatest batsman of all times. There must be a criteria for selection because most of the comments I read is very biased or,these guys don't know what the word greatest really means. Because I have seeing all of batsmen batting away from Donald Bradman and, based on what I read about him. He was the one of the greatest batsman during his days,but things has changed over the years. So Bradman, Viv Richard's, Sobers, Chappell and the list goes on to modern days cricketers. Because there are several batsmen who has done better than them based on their records, because all these nonsense about Lara,Sobers, Bradman, Viv Richard's as I said that I never saw Bradman before I was born, but one of the batsman I saw batting is Graham Gooch from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, John Headwick, Jeffrey Boycott, Sunil Gavakar, Tendulkar, and the list goes on. If you checked the speed of those bowlers comparing to some of those younger generation bowlers now, they are far much faster than Dennis Lillie, Michael Holding, Marshall, Garner, only Andy Robert's and Fidel Edward's, Jeffrey Thomson,Brent Lee,Hogtar of Pakistan 🇵🇰 the world faster bowler. All the bowlers that they are talking about, wasn't quick as some of those bowlers. When you hear some people is talking nonsense about Donald Bradman batting average, it is all nonsense. Because he does not have the highest batting average in test cricket at all, although a lot of people is trying to disputed it. They are saying that guy only played one test and, batted one time. So his batting average is not recognized, I want to know how can you decided what is right from what is wrong. When the batsman played the game and got dropped, by saying he is batting to slow for saving his team from. By drawing the test match, he was dropped after scoring 115 runs to draw the game against England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. That guy is from T&T playing for the wi team and, his name is Andy Guamtome he only played one test match. Scoring 115 and they dropped him,saying he was batting too slow to drawn the game. Also Jeffrey Boycott was dropped from the England team after scoring double hundreds to drawn the game, so you can see all the madness is going on in test cricket a very long time ago. Just like how this blogger is making a mockery of what the meaning of greatest really means, because the batsmen them with the highest test runs and centuries is. Not considered great according to this blogger, with all due respect. I strongly believed that he and many more people is very much confused about the word greatest really meant. Because as I said before that the batsmen with the highest test runs and centuries, is not considered great. Only the ones with the lower test runs and centuries overall is considered great in the blogger comment. This is one of the most stupidest things I ever heard, anyway it is just for excitement to get subscribers.
