Why so much gain ?

Having owned both, fender really cheaps out with their circuit and cheap PCB board with their hot rod/blues series. Vox is more reliable in terms of reliability. Do some research on how easily the fender cheap PCB board and design circuit fails

Corpo, manico, meccaniche... bello, niente da dire. Suono molto deludente, volume di uscita basso e sblinaciato da posizione 1 a 5. Non aspettatevi il classico timbro Fender. Strumento reso dopo 5 minuti in cui l'ho collegato all'amplificatore. Le altre strato che ho sono decisamente un'altra cosa. Avere in mano uno strumento, e non di fascia bassa, e dopo pochi minuti pensare che serve liutaio e cambio Pick-up non è il massimo.

First time I picked up and played a player plus a few years ago it became my favorite model.

People miss one of the most simple but most important parts of getting the Beano tone. It is also one of the tricks of getting his Cream sound. It has to do with using the old 4-input Marshalls (no, it is not channel jumping). One of My main amps is a 1962HW. I spent a lot of fun times chasing the Beano tone. I do not believe Clapton was using the 15 watt Alnico speakers on the Beano album. He played with the amp cranked night after night. That amp puts out closer to 50 watts cranked. Those 15 watt speakers wouldn’t have been stout enough for that. I believe He used the ceramics. He bought his 1962 combo in November of 1965. The ceramics were available and knowing how he played, i believe that’s what they would’ve installed in his amp..Just my opinion. Oh! You’re wanting the 4-hole Marshall trick to Clapton’s Beano tone! Clapton always plugged into the darker channel. He did it with his Super Leads in Cream too. Everyone misses this because everyone else famous for playing these amps always plugs into the bright channel or jumpers the channels. Plug into the dark channel and then adjust your settings. Searching for the Beano tone I found my own favorite tone. It involves a Y guitar cable and plugging into the high impedance inputs of both channels. The alnicos do sound good in a 1962 but the Greenbacks (I have one G12-C and one 20 watt Heritage in mine) sound better for classic rock tones. They’re more versatile. I hope I helped someone who is as geeky about this as I am! Thanks for the cool video.

I put a Celestion Creamback into my Vox AC15. It sounds like a different amp. The Greenback went into a single 12 inch cab. I paid about $240 Australian for the Creamback, a Blue was going to set me back way north of $500, just not worth it. I think this sounds about as good as it's going to get.

playing it too fast. lay back. get it to swing a bit. don't rush it.

I think Fender should use pine for BD's cabinet. 🤔🫤 HRD IV is pine.

My opinion: VOX in direct sounds better than Fender, in drive/boost on contrary. Though talented guitarist can impress the listeners by both gears.

I think the Vox can achieve a very nice clean sound, but we get into the british vs american sound territory here. Maybe you should have compared the BD against the AC30. The Fender Blues Jr is 15w, maybe is fairer to compare it against the AC15. The price is similar between the BJ and the AC15, same with the AC30 and the BD. Thanks for sharing, they are both amazing sounding machines.

I have a red one -same🎉 year. I played one gig with it and then put it away. Too nice for the kind of joints i play.

With other brands (Nash etc ...) you get the custom shop for your 2k. Build those very simple guitars are not Rocket Science.

The real fender bassman reissue is warmer and organic tweed sounding than this.. this is ok and it gets you about 70 % there , but if you heard the real one you would not be buying this

You left out the two black beauties: the staple neck pickup on the ‘54 Custom and the out-of-phase sound of the middle plus bridge combo on the 3-pickup ‘57 Custom both sound awesome.

My sm57 barely takes in any sound I have a Randall 3003 half stack and I have to play so loud I can’t even hear what I’m trying to play too, and the interface gain just ruins tone any ideas?

I purchased a red Player 2 Jazzmaster a month ago, and it has become my favorite Fender guitar. I find it has a different tone than my Strat's and Tele's, and it sounds great. Fender got rid of some of the problems associated with many of the Jazzmasters of recent years.

What do those knobs on your guitar do? I couldn't help but notice you never used them, just curious. Me, I have volume knobs on my guitars. Frees up my aby boxes for their intended purpose. Also, if you like more bass and more transient in your solos, I'm not gonna say you're doing it wrong, but that IS just objectively, let's say, different.

Definitely worth having an A/BYbox with a phase switch. Some amps with 2 inputs have one “channel” out of phase with the other and if you try getting both channels youll get volume loss.

Have been doing this for a long time with a plexi. Worth noting if you wanna do both channels at the same time, get a good buffered aby pedal. The passive like Morley are decent with a or b but tone suckers in y mode.

You won't believe this, but I have that exact same strat. '59 journeyman custom shop strat in shell pink. Even the aging looks identical.

I run stereo effects pedals split into each channel. It sounds better and bigger!
