A new Epiphone and again we talk about the price!
My answer is: grab one, play one, feel one and then think it over again! These guitars are in the "price middle sector" of the Epiphone/Gibson products.
Epiphone/Gibson has produced a big "marketing mistake" by not making clear WHAT these guitars really are - and so people must see them as budget guitars. And thats wrong!
I own a Korina 58 Flying V from the actual run, bought it from Thomann for 1195 € and this guitar is AMAZING! Korina body WITHOUT veneer, Gibson PUs and electronic. Plays wonderful, sounds great and is the closest thing ever to the "real thing" if you can´t afford the custom shop version for nearly 10.000 €. Has really nothing in common with the past "Korina Flying V´s" from Epiphone. I can say this, because I own one of them, too!
    Greetings from Germany

    • @sixbladeknife44
      @sixbladeknife44 2 месяца назад

@@tomaslopez2940 Epiphone does have prices that are competitive with Squier. Gibson doesn’t need to sell guitars that are in line with mid level Fender prices, that’s not where they make their $$. And you can bet they’ve researched this stuff thoroughly. The pricier Epiphones have now taken the place of the older mid level Gibson stuff, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. Some of these pricier Epis are very nice and sometimes exceed the quality level of the older mid tier Gibson line like the Tributes. I can speak to this because I own everything from high end Epis all the way up to Gibson custom shops. As far as being “overpriced”, that’s not a thing when people are paying those prices…they charge what the market will bear. Might be your own opinion, but it’s just an opinion.

Jimi wouldn't even think about touching that Maestro Vibrola but he had it wrong! That trem can do subtle wobbles to dive bombs! All it needs is a little lubricant on the nut and bridge and it will stay in tune. Not a bad deal save for the price. It should be just eleven hundred and nothing more. Hang on a minute an 1100 uk pounds guitar with laurel fretboard?
That is a commercial thing ... i'm not a laurel/rosewood fan anyway ... i mean i think it 's too porous for my fingers ... this is insane ... yes it looks stunning but they definitely saved on the fretboard materials... i mean to me Gibsons or even some Epiphones ( i own a sg prophecy ) must come with ebony fretboards period.
This is a clever commercial manoeuvre and fair play ... but some people will definitely frown at laurel ... which is a lower grade material compared to rosewood ..
I personally think u can't beat ebony as it glides much better but hey ho

I think it’s overpriced by about $300 but looks really cool otherwise. Anyone wanting to save some money wait a few months. Seen the Epiphone Lifeson Les Paul, Kirk Hammett V and Adam Jones Les Paul all sit unsold and eventually get discounted from the dealer. These will also be much cheaper used as Epiphones don’t hold their value well at all. You’ll prob see this for $900 used.

    Epiphone product meeting:
    We have 2 options:
    1. Make a white one with the small white 70s headstock, cheap pickups that customers can swap for a Het Set and sell a gazillion of them, because Hetfield plays one everyday to a sold out arena in present time. Don't even need to pay him!
    2. Make a really ugly one that 3 people will buy to hang on their wall, because Hendrix played one that one time 60 years ago before realizing vibrolas sugggg. Oh and put expensive US made pups cause....reasons.
    Option 2 it is!
Why are guitar companies so out of touch?

I played one today and I really wanted to love it. The moment I picked it up, I could feel how cheap it felt. I have a 2007 Gibson SG Standard which is all mahogany just like this Flying V. The sturdiness isn't there IMO. Has anybody played one and feel different? The Ibanez S Types that are also $1500 seem to be in a different universe when it comes to build quality. Not all of the demos were good. There's a reason why we pick Strats over Gibsons for some songs. Gibsons don't have the glassy sounds of Strats. Ain't gonna happen. But I'll digress. Pesronally I find the prices on some of the new Epi's as questionably high. But the gap is clsoing between Gibson and Epiphone. I just got a new Epi YUNGBLUD SG Jr. and it's every bit as good as my 2018 Gibson SG Jr. Do I find this guitar worth $1500? I'll be honest. I would give it a chance. If I had had an extra $1500 laying around? I'd buy this guitar.
These videos are sponsored by Gibson. They have a financial interest to present their guitars in a favorable light. It's called marketing.
Would I buy this guitar? Maybe. It sure looks nice.

Maybe a $1,500 Chinese guitar also makes you as uncomfortable as it does myself. Excuse me as I retreat to my $1,000 White w/ REAL Ebony board, made in USA Gibson '67 reissue Flying V, or my Epiphone '67 reissue Flying V, made in China that was $300.
