Are they bastard expensive? Yes. Is it MUCH cheaper than buying a custom shop Gibson that's barely different that goes for 10x the price? Yes. I'm so glad these exist, awesome addition :)
So much hate for no reason. People don’t appreciate shit anymore. Epiphone please don’t let these people ruin it for everyone else. Keep up the good work.
Great video and thanks for using the Maestro Vibrola 🙂 In most videos the people doing the demos always avoid touching the bar as if it was something nasty... If there's one on the guitar that's because it was meant to be used...
I wonder, if Jimi were still here, would he have explored painting. The two guitars ( Monterray Strat and now this one) demonstrate some talent in this area. I wonder…..
A new Epiphone and again we talk about the price! My answer is: grab one, play one, feel one and then think it over again! These guitars are in the "price middle sector" of the Epiphone/Gibson products. Epiphone/Gibson has produced a big "marketing mistake" by not making clear WHAT these guitars really are - and so people must see them as budget guitars. And thats wrong! I own a Korina 58 Flying V from the actual run, bought it from Thomann for 1195 € and this guitar is AMAZING! Korina body WITHOUT veneer, Gibson PUs and electronic. Plays wonderful, sounds great and is the closest thing ever to the "real thing" if you can´t afford the custom shop version for nearly 10.000 €. Has really nothing in common with the past "Korina Flying V´s" from Epiphone. I can say this, because I own one of them, too! Greetings from Germany
People like to talk and hate without knowing shit!!! They see "laurel" and "made in China" and that's it... "oVeRpRicEd jUNk" 🤷♂🤷♂ Or they're just haters... This thing looks and sounds incredible and this is the main thing!!!
$1500?? What happened to Epiphone being the affordable Gibson? Also, at that price it needs to have a rosewood fretboard! Fender just released the $800 Player II with rosewood, and Yamaha has always used rosewood on it's Pacificas and Revstars!
@@Myfingersstinklikefish This sums up Gibson's mindset pretty well, guitars are for people with "real" jobs, not musicians. Guitars are supposed to be a tool, but you've bought into to the stupid status symbol bs Gibson peddles.
@@sixbladeknife44 I just think Gibson/Epiphone should match Fender/Squier in prices at each trim level. There aren’t any new major artists playing Gibsons anymore since they’re overpriced
@@tomaslopez2940 Epiphone does have prices that are competitive with Squier. Gibson doesn’t need to sell guitars that are in line with mid level Fender prices, that’s not where they make their $$. And you can bet they’ve researched this stuff thoroughly. The pricier Epiphones have now taken the place of the older mid level Gibson stuff, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. Some of these pricier Epis are very nice and sometimes exceed the quality level of the older mid tier Gibson line like the Tributes. I can speak to this because I own everything from high end Epis all the way up to Gibson custom shops. As far as being “overpriced”, that’s not a thing when people are paying those prices…they charge what the market will bear. Might be your own opinion, but it’s just an opinion.
Jimi wouldn't even think about touching that Maestro Vibrola but he had it wrong! That trem can do subtle wobbles to dive bombs! Hang on a minute an 1100 uk pounds guitar with laurel fretboard? That is a commercial thing ... i'm not a laurel/rosewood fan anyway ... i mean i think it 's too porous for my fingers ... this is insane ... yes it looks stunning but they definitely saved on the fretboard materials... i mean to me Gibsons or even some Epiphones ( i own a sg prophecy ) must come with ebony fretboards period. This is a clever commercial manoeuvre and fair play ... but some people will definitely frown at laurel ... which is a lower grade material compared to rosewood .. I personally think u can't beat ebony as it glides much better but hey ho
I think it’s overpriced by about $300 but looks really cool otherwise. Anyone wanting to save some money wait a few months. Seen the Epiphone Lifeson Les Paul, Kirk Hammett V and Adam Jones Les Paul all sit unsold and eventually get discounted from the dealer. These will also be much cheaper used as Epiphones don’t hold their value well at all. You’ll prob see this for $900 used.
Epiphone product meeting: We have 2 options: 1. Make a white one with the small white 70s headstock, cheap pickups that customers can swap for a Het Set and sell a gazillion of them, because Hetfield plays one everyday to a sold out arena in present time.
