I’m a Roman Catholic, and I’ve embraced the belief in reincarnation ever since I first heard of it at the age of 11. To me, it’s a perfectly logical explanation why there are so many inequities in life, why innocent infants and children are taken so young before even being able to learn about God, or why some people live long, healthy lives being allowed to commit all types of evils and atrocities seemingly without retribution or consequence. I still firmly believe in God and Jesus, but it makes perfect sense to me that maybe our lives on earth is the true purgatory, where we’re all tasked to live out existence after existence, hopefully learning and attaining more enlightenment each time and correcting past sins against others, until we are finally spiritually whole enough to transcend to eternal paradise. I also worried a bit about contradiction to Christian teachings until I learned the early Christian church also believed in it. Idk. Maybe best practice is to just treat everyone with decency and respect, whether reincarnation and karma exists or not. Can’t go wrong either way.

Sean Carroll, a cosmologist and physics professor at the California Institute of Technology, believes he has put the debate surrounding the afterlife to bed after extensively studying the laws of physics. Dr Carroll states “the laws of physics underlying everyday life are completely understood” and everything happens within the realms of possibility. He says for there to be an afterlife, consciousness would need to be something that is entirely separated from our physical body - which it is not. Rather, consciousness at the very basic level is a series of atoms and electrons which essentially give us our mind. The laws of the universe do not allow these particles to operate after our physical demise, according to Dr Carroll He said: “Claims that some form of consciousness persists after our bodies die and decay into their constituent atoms face one huge, insuperable obstacle: the laws of physics underlying everyday life are completely understood, and there's no way within those laws to allow for the information stored in our brains to persist after we die.” For his evidence, Dr Carroll points to the Quantum Field Theory (QFT). In simple terms, the QFT is the belief there is one field for each type of particle. Dr Carroll explains if life continued in some capacity after death, tests on the quantum field would have revealed "spirit particles" and "spirit forces”. While I kind of understand Elliot's frustration with being able to fit in, make friends, and find women, that obviously didn't excuse what he would up doing. Whatever mental disabilities he may have had which prevented him from living a normal life didn't exactly help his cause, and unfortunately was what kind of doomed him from the start. That huge monkey on his back was what more than likely caused him to be his own worst enemy with not quite knowing how to handle certain situations, over those who he felt wronged, and rejected him, when that obviously didn't happen nearly to the extent which he wanted both the world, and his delusional followers to believe. The fact that he reached for the moon by hoping girls who were well out of his league would flock to him while he'd loiter in public places sitting there like a block of ice, set up nothing but unrealistic expectations for himself, which he was never going to able to fulfill. I'm sure if he worked from the ground up on his attitude, with realizing that moping around, feeling sorry for himself, and going for the quick fix (such as trying to win the mega million dollar sweepstakes), wasn't going to cut it, that he eventually could have found a decent girl who would have done wonders for his confidence, and life, while making him a better person in the process. He obviously had more than enough time to make that happen, which he sadly didn't take advantage of. Even if you wish to feel sorry for him just a little bit, the true victims in this horrible circumstance will forever be those innocent people he bought down with him, who clearly didn't deserve to have their lives tragically cut short over simply being caught in the crossfire over somebody's pettiness who made no effort to make the most out of the life he threw away, that he easily could have found many ways to better, but sadly didn't.

I don’t know what to believe. All I know is that I believe in a spirit world. I’ve had paranormal experiences and I absolutely believe that this place we call earth has things here that are soooooo beyond us to understand.
