Those will probably be priced much differently in Bangladesh. Standardized, shippable items, like an ounce of gold or a brand new Honda Civic, will still likely be priced with near-perfect parity in Bangladesh.

@@yamac2 It definitely depends on what exactly you're buying! Location-based purchases like real estate and in-person services can vary WILDLY in price from place to place. PPP holds better for items that are relatively standardized and sold internationally. You definitely won't get an ounce of gold or a brand new car significantly cheaper in Turkey, for example.

@@kylest.pierre5263 Yes, here in Canada, we’ve actually found that our US Dollars buy a tiny bit LESS in most cases. Most things are slightly more expensive in Canada after accounting for the exchange rate plus the higher local sales taxes. But, overall, it's still pretty close to a wash.

​@@OvertheHills The EU shares a currency (the Euro), just like all 50 US states share a currency, but of course there will be price fluctuations from one region to another. Life in NYC is different than in rural South Carolina. PPP between currencies works much the same way - it's a rough guideline that holds approximately true most of the time.
