Well did you ever finish the boat restoration. Left everyone wondering what happened to y'all.

What a shame to film and edit all that work and then not finish the series. It would have been nice to see the finished product and the boat out on the water. Thanks for the videos and all the best to you and your dad.

did you use unwaxed or waxed resin to attach the floorboar to to stringers?

I just wonder if you seal floor totaly, you have no acess to bottom in case you hit something and water start come into boat. I do similar project at the moment, but i would leave opportunity to lift the floor to have access, and of course in purpose to have storage under floor

hi when i did mine it was advised that the lockers where a structural thing and need some kind of support replacing what i removed did you have issues after you did this was told could cause above cabin issues where small cracks and weakens the under boat section but was good to see you showed where you made a mistake others dont thanks

👍You boat project is coming along very nicely... Excellent hardwork. 🤑 👉 FYI: Don't be hesitant to add a layer of 💥1708 fiberglass if you want to increase Longterm structural regidity. Also, and this is important: Please waterproof the anchor well, bilge well, and any other area (such as lockers) that may get wet... For example: 💥Barrier Coat Epoxy Primer, followed by 💥Epoxy Bilge Paint. I like TotalBoat products myself, but other brands work too.

I'm very impressed with your father's handiwork. 👏 However, if it were me, I would have used EPOXY resin (for its superior strength & because it creates a waterproof layer). POLY resin (in my opinion) is inferior, and should only be used if you are topping with gelcoat. Also, if it were me - after covering the floor with chopstrand, I would have added a layer of 1708 fiberglass for regidity. FYI.

I'm rebuilding a 1967 catalina dorsett, with a 70HP evenrude outboard. I know the feelings. Minus the VRO pump, mine is the same. Suggestion for you; check your timing...mine was way out of spec, but still idled/started great. Fought with acceleration last summer (bogging). Like the video, good job!!

Hi So happy to have found you. Mind telling us how much you paid for your boat. I’ve just bought a 1/2 cabin that will take 8 people. Bit bigger than your, but I’m wanting to do just the way you are. I even shop at the same Bunnings. This is so refreshing. I’m beginning to feel more confident doing my refurbishment now.

Just found you, as I’m just about to put down a floor in 1/2 cabin in my old 80s doer upper. I knew when I saw you using ozitzo tools that I had come to the right place. Now I can’t wait to watch your other videos. On a very very serious note. Please don’t let your father work with resin without a proper respiratory mask. Resin fumes are toxic, and dads are precious.

this all looks great and nicely done but what about water drainage? youre going to have a hell of a time when it rains or if you ever have to redo the floor again in the future possibly

The anchor locker cannot be sealed as it needs to drain.

tip. when boating have 2 fully charged good batteries to go out on the water on.

i seen that cut through the hull coming, due to you steadily tempting fate by cutting towards it constantly.

rofl you aussies call everything under your feet a floor. the ground you call the floor, the deck of a boat you call the floor, atleast you got 1 floor correct and that's the floor in buildings.

Did you do a test drill into the stringers like you did with the transom? My stringers in a similar aged Savage Commander are completely rotten and wet/powdery and I'm in the process of replacing them all. Looking forward to seeing your project develop.

Loving seeing the progress it’s giving me some inspiration on how to do mine which is a dory pilot 520 17ft wort thing is I have to replace my transom as it was rotted out and one big difference is I have no stringers but have 6 chambers that are full of foam so gotta try work out how to replace my floor with not much to fix to

Build is going great. Looks like you are doing well and setting a fantastic example with safety. Not sure I would use all those gloves but it better than getting it on your skin I guess. Gloves can be so dangerous. Looking forward to the next video.
