I'm asking because I seen another video where they disabled more DTC settings. You only adjusted 3.
@@FR4087 idk how to answer you, everything I did in the video is in my car currently and it can daily drive even ran it with boost I even showed proof of this as well and as far as that other video your talking about the choice is yours on whose guide you choose to follow all I know is this works for me and never had an issue and you really need to watch the video because you do have to set your timing correctly and that's different for every engine
Have you had any boot issues on turbo to hat pipe on carb where there no clamps?
@@jeffreyjohnson6968 oh you should watch the later videos this was right after I had finished making this kit it had 4 clamps and they were cheap eBay clamps but they did hold 10.6psi without issue
The turbo to pulley clearance made me nervous when you started it lol awesome job I love it tho!!!
@@jeffreyjohnson6968 it had an inch and a half of clearance and it was solidly bolted to the manifold with the stock flanges I redid the whole the turbo in the same manner but with the passenger side upside down so I could snake the exhaust out the back

Once you have the converter out you’ll have a better idea. Where the converter seats into the pump can be wore out or have some slop. Maybe the splines are screwed up somehow but I’m leaning toward the pump being engagement being sloppy.
@@RustingSoftly not sure which is really worst since that converter was a summit bought boss hoss type of deal Im probably gonna just bolt it back up and drive it like that untill I get time to go pull a 4l80

What mods were made for the carb did you get a boost reference pvcr or stock pvcr
@@marcoguerrero1302 can't use a stock PV the boost will force it shut at wot , the only mods done to it was an eBay boost referenced PV kit, 2 nytrophyl floates and a mechanical throttle linkage to bring in the secondaries sooner and the vent tube extensions

My fuel pressure regulator is on the side of the carburetor attached, did you tap new threads to fit a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator
@@BLACKWATER1940 I didn't tap anything the carburator has 3/8 fuel fitting I just used regular fuel hose and the regulator quick connects to the cars 5/16 fuel line

I promise you it’s close to the same the video doesn’t do it justice i would do more testing but i already changed the setup and got rid of it 126 dollar resonator isn’t not as good as a $47 thrush hush muffler
@@Dannymclovin thrush hush muffler is kinda restrictive muffler, that's why it quiets down the sounds more. Isn't there any other option?
@@r.k862 who told you it was restrictive? My car still builds boost even with the cutout closed and what is it that your looking to do with your vehicle anyways tell me the setup and what your hoping to achieve noise wise
@@Dannymclovin I got 370z with invidia catback N1 exhaust. The exhaust is very loud. I want to quiet down the exhaust by a lot without restricting the HP performance of the car. From my research perforated muffler hinders performance unless I can be proven wrong with facts. That's why I'm thinking of going with straight through designs. I'm thinking of installing vibrant resonators because it's got a lot of packing material inside vs a muffler that isn't straight and can restrict performance. Let me know what you think I would like to know. Thanks
@@r.k862 sadly performance sometimes is loud id install quiet mufflers and just add two cut outs seems like the most logical thing in your situation
So what all did you need for the harness I know the crank sensor and cam sensor and coils packs that’s a given but did you keep the map and knock sensor hooked up as well or did you run it basically like the msd box with just the crank cam and coils and temp sensor
Just strip the efi stuff i did keep the map sensor only to monitor it on an obd2 device but i ended up cutting it off you can leave the knock sensors on and it’ll retard timing in the event of a knock and it’ll operate normally but all i have is the cam crank and coils and ect and 2 grounds and alternator

You can but why would you want to? That’s just extra work when you can just do it off of rpm and be done with it, tuning down to a single degree is marginal at best in this situation anyways i wouldnt tune it using the map but that’s just me so i couldnt really say what id do differently cause i dont know

What kinda mpg are you getting out of that?
A car like this you dont worry about mpg so i couldnt tell you this is really more a drag car only build i will tell you the cruise in OD is leaned out so maybe gas milage aint so bad but when you have a turbo its hard to not be on the gas all the time so who knows
Curious are you tuning the ignition on stock pcm with hp tuners? If so I’d love a bit more info on what you did to make the pcm happy and not go into limp mode.
Lol youtube ppl are funny go to my channel i literally show you how to tune the stock pcm for free (no hptuners requiered) its been working for the past 700 miles without problems with boost it also worked when i was NA
@@Dannymclovin my bad so I watched em and I’m curious are you still running your timing rpm based? I’m curious if you could set your base timing then use the map to pull timing like the msd box. I’m going to give it a whirl I have an ecu sitting here and I asked about hp tuners because my brother has hp tuners and will let me use it whenever I want. Appreciate you responding even though I just didn’t look hard enough for the answers on the other videos. New to all this ls game with computers and shot so sorry if I ask some dumbass questions haha
@@zerotolerance39 nah man i welcome dumb ass questions im happy to help and it all depends are you going boosted with a carb? Ive had msd boxes and they just werent worth the money especially today theyve gotten soo expensive anyways its all rpm based its simplified to were once it hits a certain rpm the timing drops i got rid of the map sensor and all the other unnecessary inputs because it woulda just meant more tuning if you have hptuners id recommend just staying efi if your brother can tune it for you i just skipped hp tuners all together because i didnt own it and it was just more expensive all around “bigger injectors+intercooler+piping+plus credits or street tune from a professional, i only went carb cause i had it and it was just cheaper all around
@@Dannymclovin haha thanks I have access to hp tuners but neither of us know enough to properly or confidently tune a efi we are carb guys. he bought it off someone who had big ideas and was getting out of cars just wanted it gone we thought heck if anything use it to remove vats and shit for people we know and use the scanner on our daily’s for diagnostics. I am going blow through carb simply because I have everything sitting here other than some small parts and ignition however I have a gen 3 dbw ecu so why not I’d rather not buy injectors and all the stuff needed and I know carbs pretty damn good.
@@zerotolerance39 oh well hell yea how old are you guys im pretty young but ive allways preferred carbs on my projects and yea gen 3 computers the 411 you can do it for free over and over again using my guides plus if your going blow through id recommend the nightwrencher youtube channel hes videos made it very easy to convert to blow through
Thinking about grabbing a stand alone harness off of eBay my msd box just went out on me
Just get a stock one from the junkyard i had a cheap ebay one and those usually get there power supply from the starter lug and theyre not fused not to mention the o2 sensors arent even in the correct pins just get one from the junkyard youll be better off in the long run

Never opened up the block ran it at 15psi but i ran conserving timing because i have an open differential 10* with boost youll feel the extra torque but its definitely not at its full potential its all around just a safe timing curve

@@georgiaboy1579 it can be complicated but youll get use to it although ive only used it once the first time to set it up and havent touched it since the car runs and drives hits boost well and the timing is set for longevity but i can set it to self destruct to maximize hp lol
@Dannymclovin I am definitely going to do this to something light with E85. My Silverado had a 5.3 & 7875 turbo on 13 lbs of boost for almost 2 years before I popped a stock head gasket. Got a healthy n/a LQ4 now but I miss the turbo. Not just the power, the sound of it and the wastegate noises 😂 Keep up the good work

No but I’m glad this is possible. I wish I knew before. I’ve heard about more than one person that MSD’s can fail. I don’t trust aftermarket computers. Here’s a question. Do you have it set up to tune in the car through the OBD2 port?

@@332ARA well that’s the only way you can tune it with obd2 and yea the 6014 just isn’t reliable in my opinion ive had a few and the performance is just not up to what theyre selling it for at all especially when you can run this 411 for free

How do you like the cam at this point ..looking for mid 430-450 hp..with a 5.3
The cam is good it chops nice and it’s daily driver friendly but id lower my expectation’s because i doubt my car is even making 300hp to wheels maybe it makes 300 whp now with the gt45 turbo i have on it but i wouldn’t expect that number to be even 450

Very smart the simplicity is great. The carburetor replaces the mass airflow injectors, the tps and iac and of course the throttlebody you can’t beat it then you put a turbo on it. Sheesh

I’ve never had it on a dyno but i fully tuned it it’s still in a 215 wide tire so it’s not a race car but it’s running 10 psi
this was along time ago ive driven manuals all my life and this was my first ever project with an auto th350 turns out i never installed the kickdown cable so it was go rich from being at low speeds and 3rd gears i didnt know it at the time but the way i set up the car it required a manual down shift and it works fine now without it richening up its at 12.3 at wot now
That is very cold, I want to do the same but with a Ford 5.0, I want to put independent coils and remove the distributed ones and be able to control the time advance more precisely, not using the PCM of an LS but a speedoino which is more economical in my case. country to use the pcm of an ls, I have a question, of course you are not using the injectors obviously in addition to that other sensor you are using, ckp, cmp, iat, map, ect, I also appreciate in one of your videos that the time is certain degrees at certain rpm that is what the pcm does because you configured it that way, or because the pcm obtains information from the map, thanks for your response
whats wrong with a distributor? personally id keep the distributor if i had a sbc only because ive seen an 800hp 350 run with a distributor and an ignition box and it was simple in the engine bay and just clean because there wasnt a big wiring harness NOW THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION i am only running the cam and crank sensors and cts but thats only to work my fan and to retard timing if it starts getting too hot and nothing else no map no maf . and watch my next video i set this pcm to run off RPM only so once it reaches said rpm itll just go to that timing that i had already set in the programming and i can change it to whatever id like with out limits or restrictions and even if i ran those other sensors(which are unnecessary) the computer would try to revert to the best timing or whatever the factory was for timing , putting it on an rpm base tune only will make sure it stays to what i set it at no matter what the conditions are as long as it reads rpm it does the rest also i dont know about speeduiono and id like to be able to explore other things but my financial situation wont allow that lol ive pulled off the impossible plenty of times but lack of funding sometimes does get in the way

Non at all apparently a bov is more necessary in a blow through application which mine is and it never fails me it releases pressure every time

Mine came with 4 washers for the banjo fitting. Where do all 4 go? Seems like I only need 2
Not sure I just used the 2 for the banjo and I stored the other 2 works fine
