I feel sorry for Nanaya but I love what they did to him, I was tired of him being just a "walking psychopath killer", having something about him besides him coming from a demon-killing blood is much more interesting for the character.

It's certainly the most horrific ending, with Shiki suddenly realising that everyone in the mansion has been dead for a long time.

I'm pretty sure everyone at the mansion's just dead the moment Shiki's done with Noel. 1. We get glimpses of the mansion interior covered in blood in Shiki's "dream." 2. Shiki mentions it felt like he's slept for days _and_ that he "doesn't remember having the kind of dream that would make me toss and turn in my sleep." Which implies it wasn't a dream. 3. Bloodstain on the mansion stair landing (_before_ he passes out.) 4. Hisui didn't greet him in the morning because she was likely dead, leaving corpse-Haku to greet him. Kohaku might've been the first to die. Maybe the last. Either way not sure she would've had time to process it. But I think the implications scattered throughout are that Shiki got possessed first, killed everyone, then had the little illusion sequence with probably-not-Haku. Maybe Roa already possessed him, but just set the whole thing up to deliberately shatter Tohno's brain? Creates less resistance.

I hate that we have to go thru this ending first to get the good ending man it ruined my night 😭

I know this may come across as crazy but l wish Nasu was less shy with the gore and did a illustration of Hisui and Akiha dead like in Arcueid’s route so it shocks the viewer even more
