A day at the Scottish Open with Genesis Hospitality | Tournament Vlog
Huge thank you to Genesis Europe for inviting us over to enjoy the Scottish Open with some truly 10/10 hospitality. Experiences like this are incredibly special, so we wanted to document the day both for our own memories and to give a little insight as to what you can expect with a Genesis Hospitality package. And we can both safely say, we were completely blown away by it!
Come spend the day with us exploring the Renaissance Club, spotting our favourite players and getting very spoilt in the Genesis Lounge🥰 We filmed this on Friday 12th July i.e. Round 2 of the event - and managed to get probably the best day for it out of the 4 rounds!☀️

Yes, what a run he had over the last 4 holes. But 16th, never knew the Scottish hide their sprinklers in the tall grass 😂. What a fantastic few holes along the coast, I could sit their for hours without hitting a ball...
The best day. So much to do other than watch the golf! Was a super event and hope we can go back next year! Glad Bob won and I won the sweepstake!
Everyone should play Cullen at least once . It’s the most fun you’ll have on a golf course 😅😅

That was a fun round. "Better than Rory", he won't like that 😅. The ball that dropped after a decade. Hole 12 "my best ball" 😂. The drive on 16. Chilling on the fairway (4-ball ahead of you?) ⛳. Really enjoyable video and you both have such a fluent swing. Oh and I wish I could putt like G 😢 . Great challenge playing 72, I would even struggle to simply walk the distance...
Thank you Ron! We really enjoyed this round :) I honestly still can't believe that ball went in hahaha. Yes it was a 4-ball ahead, they offered to let us go through but they had a couple more 4-balls in front so we just stayed where we were. It was nice just to sit down for a little bit though so we didn't mind 😂 Putting was hot this day! We were ok on the actual day, it was the next day we really felt it 😅
I wish I could putt like G too. Hopefully Rory doesn’t see my comment 😬
The Cullen Bay Hotel used to do a Cullen Skink where the fish was marinated in Spiced Rum for 48 hours, it was amazing. Good luck with your channel 👍 Do you know that Tain is also a Tom Morris course?
@@myoung7654 that sounds incredible! Thankyou :) Yeah; both Tain & Royal Dornoch are on the list! Cam has played both but I’ve only played the two courses at Dornoch so really excited for when we manage to get over there. Our summer is absolutely packed but our next Tom Morris course is due to be Nairn, and we’re hoping to try play a few different courses around it while we’re there too🤩

Tain is absolutely on the list!! We've both played Dornoch and I believe Cam has played Tain before too. Do you have any suggestions of other courses in that area? Its about 4h away from us so we'd probably try to play a couple courses over a few days like we did with this Lossie trip :)
@@CGgolfs I'm not sure of other Old Tom Morris courses, but other interesting courses are Strathpeffer - if you like it hilly, Golspie, Nairn

Thank you. We are lucky we both practice these shots a lot so try to get our distance control and chipping on point
Honestly just 15 mins after each range session goes a long way with shortgame! I also tend to use one or two clubs with stock shots, nothing too fancy just reliable and repeatable. Glad you're enjoying the videos 😊

Are you both scratch golfers?
We're both +2! Cam is +2.4, G is +2.1 although Cam has been getting lower over the last few months and G has got slightly higher. We've both re-started lessons as we've got out of the habit of playing focused competitive golf which we're wanting to get back into going forwards :)

hope you get round to playing it soon! it was fab. They were recently doing a promotion to play on Sundays for £20 - however the £40 usual fee is a bargain for what you get!
Hole 5 is brilliant & the green is soooo tight - hope you enjoyed it
such a unique hole! we were very confused stood on the tee but the views were just incredible. We absolutely loved it. Think we're going to also try doing a tour of some smaller courses like these that people might miss off from a trip that they absolutely should not be missing 😊
@@CGgolfs I hope you're going to try Hopeman whilst you're up here, holes 11, 12 & 15 are wicked + the course has a stunning view over to the Black Isle.
@@slydewhoosh423 We've had a few recommendations of other courses to try out so we'll add this to the list! Any others in the area? We've got down Elgin, Maverston and Turriff from comments on my social media. We tend to try do a couple days and cover a few courses in one go :)
@@CGgolfs Strathlene has some interesting holes, Forres is a parkland, Nairn Dumbar is nice also, Spey Bay is awesome, if you want an experience Castle Stuart's facilites are amazing (pricey) but the course & greens are epix.

Another great small course in Scotland. Just look at the scenery! Not easy by the look of it, especially at 7 AM 😮 Very slow greens with dew, and the fairways and teeboxes look pretty rough. But for sure on my list 😀 I also like to make a birdie every round, so please don't look at the scorecard I posted after the tropical round Ingrid and I did this week...
I unfortunately did not make my birdie! Greens were a bit slow but it was still such a fun course
@@camStA1780 yes, it looks real fun. I had a totally ruined round on Tuesday. Very hot, I got distracted by trying to film, i hit every bunker and a few OOB. +19 in 18 holes 😭. Only comfort, from white tees.
@@rondekoning We would love some heat in Scotland! It will have been tough from the white tees. I played last night in 40mph winds. Need summer weather to come to scotland soon

Great course too! Beautiful this time of year. I thought the yellow plants were broom but Cam told me it is gorse, the spiny stuff 😮. So, rule#1 here, don't hit your ball in the rough
I have the battle scars from going in the gorse haha
Yeah you really have to avoid the gorse hahah - almost 100% lost ball especially with how thick they are on this course!
Wow, what a unique course. Just read about Tom Morris, great story. Now, when he designed that he probably had a few wee drams too many 😁 Looks very tough to play, especially with the greens in that condition. This will be a certain stop for us on next trip. Great idea of you both to start a channel !! Cam must be brave, if I beat Ingrid dinner is not guaranteed...
we loved how unique it was! yes, I think you might be right there 😆 🥃 we paid £40 each per green fee but we saw they’re doing a promotion where you can play it for £20 on Sundays which we thought was insane! a fantastic course at that price for sure.
