This is a jewel I dont even thing i've ever heard it Sounds familiar though Well, barrin songs and 'skits' i already know of course I guess the so called costello influence is still strong here Then as we got to 'she wont look at me' we can appreciate an elliott who sounds a little more familiar in tone and btw i love love love that song it's so pretty and a classic. It has that sort of same edge as say noname1 Theres many different aspects i really enjoy about it Hearing bits of 'to be classics' like future titles here and there gives off a weird effect, extraniating like 'church bells now im amake i guess it must be some kind of holiday...' i mean as soon as i heard it i was like 'eh really?' xD almost sounds like someone else is singing those words, someone from the future or from the past, like some sort of mash up, there are these parts of songs scattered all around and they come up when you least expect it Feelings aside, this goes to show and reinforce the known insight about elliott constantly working on his craft, and he brings everything with him, eversince pre heatmiser days And it's a sweet and powerful thing really With a hint of a haunting quality even, if you want Then again 'shiva opens her arms now...' 😅 wow❤

Such a great player. I wish we had more examples of him improvising and soloing. He definitely kept his level hidden for the most part out of good taste for the sake of the songs. But he did start to let it rip on basement, and I think we would have gotten a lot more free ranging guitar work had he stuck around. Looking forward to the rest of this show <3

I remember hearing Jon Brion saying that he was really disappointed that this song was so beautiful and Elliott changed the lyrics and made it about drugs. And like most of us with this disease Elliott was pissed about the intervention and you can hear it in one of the takes here. I love the song personally because I completely identify with it and that's one of the things Elliott wanted to accomplish with his art.

The original interview is in AWFUL quality, you can barely hear anyone. I tried my best to keep the quality while also enhancing everybody's voice. Hopefully it sounds nice, XO!

Harsh noise was peak in the 2000s, makes me wonder if Elliott was a fan of Wolf Eyes, or other bands like that. I woulda loved to hear him blending the super depressing psychedelic stuff he was working on before he passed with this kinda stuff.

A songwriting talent who is hard to compare to any other. Simply one of the greatest practitioners of the form. He was a genius. This is a great example of his magic.
