Life360 and Tile are two very different products, and their integration should not be confused. Bluetooth trackers like Tile do not have GPS or cellular communication. They connect to your phone or another Tile user's phone, and then the Tile app uses the GPS location of the user's phone (not the Tile) and communicates that information to the Tile servers using the phone's connection (cellular or Wi-Fi). Therefore, if no Tile user is nearby, it will NOT update. It is NOT real-time. Tile icons do appear on the Life360 map and are listed under 'Items,' but you need to pay close attention to the wording, as it says 'last updated (time).' This does not indicate the current location; it's only listed for convenience since both companies are now under the same ownership. However, they remain two very different products/services.

They are a life saver for people like you and me that misplace things all the time.

Thanks for sharing. I haven't heard of or experienced that issue with my old 2022 or earlier Pro models. It seems you have to push in the tab so much that it breaks, causing it to only lock once so just beware of that. I'm not sure that will always be the case but it happened in mine.

With only 20 million users, you going to get a lot connections if any at all. Plus understand how bluetooth trackers work and if the kid is moving, the location marked, is where connection happen, not where the kid currently and since its not in real time, it could have connected 5,10,15 mintues ago. How far can a kid walk in 15 mintues. Pretty far! If youre really anxous and want something that could help for real instead of smoke and mirrors, get a real GPS tracker that updates every mintue or sooner!

😂 Tile is junk! Nobody runs the app to get hits on your item. Only way you get your stuff back is if you hunt it yourself. Good luck with that.

Yes, you need to buy Tile Premium, if you want the Tile Premium features for your Tile like Smart Alerts (out of range), or 30-day history, etc. (Don't get confused between the Tile's 30-history and Life360 30-day history)

If you mark it as lost in the Find My app, you can leave contact info and then when someone scans the NFC, it will take them to a website with your info. It can also be used in smarthome automations by programing your phone to trigger the automation when the NFC is detected. Make sense?

If a tag isn't moving, your statement can be a bit misleading, as these are Bluetooth trackers that connect only to Samsung Galaxy devices via Bluetooth. Bluetooth doesn't have a 500m range. Remember, it’s not the tag’s location that is being reported, but the location of the Samsung Galaxy device it’s connected to, which provides the GPS data. So, if the tag is stationary, it must be within a max of 120 meters of the galaxy phone in optimal conditions.

The Smart Things app on Samsung phones would alert someone in the car that there is a tracker. It's a anti stalking feature. My advice would be to put a sign on the car window to advise a tracker is installed. That alone would be a deterrent. If the tag is well hidden, they wouldn't find it.

There is a website that my wife uses that will give information about a house and who lives there currently, their phone number, their relatives, everything. Half the apps I use need to check my location. They’re more than likely doing the same.

Yes and no, I think the industry will eventually get there, but right now the closest thing is Tile that works on iOS and all Androids. Android Find My Device trackers from Chipolo or Pebblebee and other brands soon, that work on any Android brand phone, like Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Motorola, Google Pixel and more.

Doing some research to find some answers too with little luck. Not too many people are saying it's possible. The Pebblebee is specific to the device. You buy one or the other and set it up with that device, and it therefore only pings off of that network. I have yet to see anything that says it works with both, ie set it up with a Samsung phone and it can ping off of any device using Bluetooth, regardless of brand. I do hope, too, that the industry can move in that direction. The accuracy of the Smart Tag isn't great due to only recognizing Samsung devices.

It sounds like you’re getting confused between a brand and a network. Pebblebee, Chipolo, Tile, and several others are brands. Some of these brands have released new trackers in the last few years that work with Apple’s Find My and Android’s Find My Devices, while still selling their older trackers that work with their own network/app. (These networks are so small and unreliable that they can hardly be called networks, so they’re essentially just apps to find misplaced items around the house.) You need to understand which tracker you’re buying from each brand, as some sell 3-4 different models that all look similar (and are sometimes even named similarly) but work on different networks. I think many of these brands have started to drop their own app models, but a lot of the information you’ll find online still refers to the brand alone, since Apple’s Find My and Android’s Find My Devices are relatively new. This might be where the confusion arises. Also, some trackers can work with both the manufacturer’s app/network and Apple’s Find My, like those from Eufy and SwitchBot. Google and Apple have announced that they are working together to help notify people if a tracker is following them, but there’s been no mention of expanding their community-finding features beyond their own networks. However, if they can collaborate for security (anti-stalking), it’s likely just a matter of time before they extend this to community finding.

I totally respect that and thats my biggest con too! The size works for many applications, but it’s a shame they didn’t do a replaceable or rechargeable battery.

All of these devices are compatible with Apple Find My, offering the same features, security, and privacy protocols that come standard with the Find My system. (It's not the device, its the network that detects if a device is traveling with you)

Absolutely, I get where you're coming from! Tile has always done things their way, but that service fee is definitely a sticking point, especially when you compare it to what you get for free with AirTag and the Find My app. The Find My community is definitely a tough one to beat. Android's Find My Devices is also starting to make a strong presence in the arena.
