Springtime downwind foil perfection

This video was shot one Sunday afternoon in early September 2024. It was the hottest weekend yet with stong northerlies the two days before but I had spent the weekend away inland so was hungry for a run. The two days of strong wind before meant favourable swell with the wind swell fading out the SE ground swell. It makes a huge difference if there is any groundswell in the mix with the wind bumps and what direction that swell is going. These conditions combined with balmy temperatures made for the absolute easiest and most relaxing downwind run to round out the weekend from Tallows to Broken Head.

Here's a clip from an unseasonably east swell at The Pass. This day there was WSW wind blowing and weird chop waves coming across the break making it pretty wobbly and turbulent for the foil. its raining and really windy here in the middle of winter and this spot hasnt broken properly in months. Was looking through my hard drive and found these clips from last summer from @CrestezGeorgiana . Riding in boardies and clear warm water. Thanks so much Georgiana for the clips.

A few clips from a trip from the start of this year to a remote mysto point break with an epic crew. I had last been there when I was 15 and with no board. I was stoked to return to this amazing place with my mates and score a few waves on the foil. Huge thanks to Trevor King for the drone clips.

Its the last day of summer here in Australia. Its been a good one but with some setbacks and injuries for me including my first ever broken bone and as a result spent more time on the couch and less time foiling than I would like. This is my first full successful downwind run. It took me two goes on foil to do the whole run and somehow paddled onto foil both times very easily. I have floated almost the whole run many times so I was stoked to foil the full way. Huge thanks to Ben Tayler flying his drone in 25 knots here to get the clips.
