  • Live in east coast Australia and can't afford the airfare and exchange rate to visit Hood River for easy downwind conditions? No problem, just check the wind and tide forecast, hook up the caravan, and get yourself to this place.
It was so good the first time we made another 6 hr round trip 4 days later.
Amazing to ride with the crew at this spot both times. Its a great vibe here, floating back to the start in the current chatting to the other guys.
Huge thanks to Trevor ( @trevorking_tk) on the drone and for putting up with me in 2 x 6 hour missions in the car.

These Australian downwind drone clips are epic. Doesn’t get old. That spot looks legit!

thanks mate, this is the closest thing to something like hood river that we have. I love seeing your videos too of the Gulf which looks like an awesome playground

Cool to see how the new sports are bringing to life different spots. Used to go windsurfing and kiting around there.

Its an epic spot for sure. I could see a few kiters way downwind and on the way out looked like some good freetsyle spots behind the sandbars but would be fun to hit this spot for a quick run on the kite and send it from some of these ramps

I couldn’t work out where it was until you showed the bridge lol. A few of these epic D runs are being done here now

haha im not a local here so was unsure about publicising the exact location and the intro with the maps and forecast was to try put people off and my attempt at comedy. Alot of potential in this area but this run looks like the most convenient, looks like a few others that would be doable with a boat or ski

On the Seabreeze graphs it looked like the forecast was Easterly, but in the video it looks like it was blowing straight from the South. I'm assuming you need S wind for this to work?

thats right, its just some random forecast I pulled up and screen recorded as my attempt of comedy with the idea to make it hard to guess the spot (im not a local here so not sure about publicising the exact details of location). It would also maybe work with a northerly and tide running the opposite way. super easy to find on google maps ;)

    another good one💯
thank you for this video from south of France.
I don't practice downwinding but i do wing foiling in freeflying, and each of your videos motivates me and inspires me for my rides.

Thanks for the feedback Kali 😁🤙! France sounds epic for downwind on some of the big lakes next to the mediteranean (and on the med and atlantic too), hope to see you doing it soon, either way Im stoked that you're stoked
