My Process For Designing LUTs (For Monitoring and Colour Grading) - Fuji XT-3
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.4 года назад
When I got my Atomos Shogun I found it was really difficult to produce consistent LUTs to monitor the footage with, and most videos that focused on making LUTs only showed you how to get a colour grade out of whatever software you were using. Since there wasn't very much focus on the technical aspect of LUT design I decided to think up my own process that would allow me to predict how a LUT wou...
Dji Mavic Air - A Late Review
Просмотров 3 тыс.5 лет назад
So the Mavic air is a bit older than a year old now, persistent render errors from premier are why this review is a bit late. I got the Mavic air to take to the Philippines on a bit of a moments notice, so I didn't know what to expect but overall I'm really happy with the drone so I decided to do a brief review of it to share my experience with it. I should say, I've been having less trouble wi...
Yongnuo 35mm F2 Lens Review
Просмотров 82 тыс.6 лет назад
Got a Yongnuo 35mm F2 so I thought I would share my thoughts on it. Some weird highlights from a LUT I made, apparently what works in light room doesn't always translate properly. I would fix it but Premiere keeps giving me "error compiling movie" so I guess I'll just have to make sure I don't have it next time. I get that comparing it to the sigma 24-105 F4 might not seem fair, think of it mor...
Black pro mist 2 Filter review
Просмотров 20 тыс.6 лет назад
Decided to review that black pro mist2 filter I got a while ago. Not gonna lie this was way harder than I thought it would be. Figured I may as well take my time with it and make some essential graphics templates in after effects which I can use later on. Any critiques welcome I'd very much like to hear them! All shots captured on an a7s, the beach shots were captured using the shogun flame. so...
A Glorified Filter Test - A Short BlackProMist 2 Test Scene shot with the a7s
Просмотров 9916 лет назад
found a black promist 2 filter on amazon for cheap so I figured I'd pick it up since I've been looking into getting one for a while. Couldn't wait to use it so I shot a short test off the cuff with my cousin using props we already had and no plot in mind. Honestly I think I'm gonna buy the 1/4 at some point . The 2 is more than a bit too strong, careful control of lighting can bring it to heel ...
An Unexpected Snowfall - DJI phantom 3 - Sony a7s - sigma 24-105 f4 Art

Recently got some snow out of the blue so I decided to go out in the snow and give my phantom 3 standard its first proper flight. The phantom 3 is a little old now but the 2.7k is looks great provided the camera has enough light. thanks to a cerulean state for letting me use his fantastic song "and then it all came to a halt" here is his youtube ruclips.net/channel/UCANo2pugqz3kXCLAzNCMTpg I an...
End of Summer- a7s 100p with Sigma 24-105 F4 Art test
Просмотров 9817 лет назад
Went down to Glenoe waterfall on Monday with my friend Jonny to test out the A7s with the Sigma 24-105 to see what the 100p looked like. I'm a bit disappointed with just how much of a hit the sharpness took in the drop down to 720p and tbh I found I had to speed some of the footage back up to half speed anyway, needlessly losing resolution. I think I'll stick with 50p from now on unless I reall...

I found a pentax camera from my granddad, its an old SLR. The battery leaked out of its compartment, is it possible to fix the camera? My granddad past away 8 years ago and i would love to relive his passion as my new hobby.
10:58 Was this video shot with the fuji X-t3? 😮
I have this, this was the camera my childhood pictures where taken on , love still using this as my main film camera
Great video
I have the Eos 300 matched with the 75-300 lens. I listen to podcasts on my headphones while sitting in the Aussie bush and wait for birds to land near me. I have taken some beautiful photos and learnt a lot from podcasts. I paid $100 Aussie dollars for the camera. Bargain 🐦
Great SLR. I still have mine from 1999 and use it occasionally as a complement to my digital EOS.
These are so cheap and fun! I shoot events on a K-1 II and wanted to get into film. I put the worst disposable camera-esque lens from amazon on this and shot in black and white. I love how the images came out. This is the perfect camera to get into film for beginners IMO. Highly recommended.
can you charge the light while using it ?
Great video, thanks a lot! I'm thinking to buy this and it's good to know that I can use other modern lensens I already own! 😊
I just finished my first roll of Fuji 400 this morning in my Kiss III. The Kiss III is Japan's version of the 300. Seems to be a nice little camera. We will see how the photos turn out.
Thank you for this awesome Video! The Production Quality of this Video is awesome. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!
2:23 which lens is this i want to buy this :)?
It's hard to find a 50mm EF-S or 35mm EF lens for a decent price. Sure I have a zoom that covers 50mm on my 7D, but it's not the same.
Thoroughly enjoyable informative review . I’m looking to use XT3 as a stills camera , the review was heavily biased towards the video side of the camera but let me see what can be done with a bit of work and imagination. I want to shoot mostly landscapes which is why I want to move on from my Canon DSLR . Mentally I had settled on the X H2, but I watched a review on this which compared it to an XT5 which was very favourable for both cameras and at the end the reviewer said that the XT3 was still a great (but cheaper camera) . I’m thinking that if I get a good used camera and a decent lens I can always trade up , keeping the lens . Effectively renting an XT3 . Hopefully it’ll work out !!
I love your videos! You should start uploading again, I think you could do RUclips as a caraer.
How do i connect mt1 with app?
How come you only have 792 subscribers? Your vid is super informative, thank you!
Just got this camera as my first film camera. It seems promising but using the viewfinder is a bit cumbersome. Its a bit blurry to me and it seems like there is no way of ajusting the viewfinder like on modern cameras.
my english is a shit but i understood like 75% and i really liked thanks so much. My mom bought this camera 20y ago when i was born to photograph me and my family and never talk about it, with 17y i asked a dslr for present (nikon d3500, oh this camera gives me headache) to photograph birds, in the kit was a 70-300mm that i like a lot and take pictures of the moon to, i am in the world of photograph about 2y, and some months ago i found this canon in the boxes and i had already started to study film photography. When you love photos you always want to learn more and enjoy what you can about photos.👍
Hoi Loremkirsten je kan ook automatisch vertalen instellen naar nederlands dan heb je redenlijk goeie vertaling beter dan naar engels luisteren
just got my first eos 300 today its my first film camera cant wait to use it
Just found one of these in the loft. Starting in the world of photography so if I like this then I'll go to digital
What chart is that? I have a few but haven’t seen that one.
Great comparison, I have both of these cameras and its good to see someone elses thoughts.
Excellent video. Thank you. The viewfinder is amazing with NO DISTRACTING FOCUS INDICATOR Lights. A fun camera.
What lens are you referring to that does well with auto face focus? great video!
Just the 50mm F2, the Fuji X mount version
We'd like to collaborate with you. Please let us know how we can get in touch :)
My only disappointment was discovering that the 2nd generation kit lens was not great. However I've bought a 50mm 1.8 and will be looking forward to using this year.
Hi, Im looking to start out in videography, I can afford to buy a XT4 body new and a second hand lens 18-55mm. Or I could buy a used XT3 and used lens 18-55mm. Should I rather spend more to get the XT4 or a gimbal for the XT3
Can you share how the scratches occur on you Pentax images?
A lot of it comes from the camera itself, I don't think it was in the best condition before me. Some of the most egregious scratches came from a bit of grit that got stuck in the squeegee
@@Made_by_Matthew Nice video, btw. Came here for the 300v review, as I just got one. Im much better prepared now, having seen this, and it was a pleasure to watch. I also have an ME, which is a super cute camera, and the Takumar lenses are pretty special. Your ME scratches could easily happen with a 300v. Comparing the two, it was really useful to see your two color rendition charts!! I’d like to see a separate video going into more detail on that. It went by so quickly.
I’m wondering how are you able to get low light footage with very little noise? I have the same camera and even with f1.4 I keep getting noise in the midtones/ shadows. The highlights and very dark shadows are OK, but everything else is noisy. Sometimes I can crush the shadows a little bit, but a lot of times I can’t. I know how to do it when I’m in control of lightning, but in situations like a concert or in a situation like your video of the dancer, I get a lot of noise. Do you remove it in post? Does filming in 10 bits make a difference regarding the ability to remove the noise. If you could give me an advice or do video about it in the future, I would be very grateful. Even at ISO 6400 there is way too much noise. My old 5dmk3 is much better. Yes, it is a full frame, but it’s also a very old camera. I was expecting almost a decade of development to be enough to make up for the smaller sensor.
I had to de-noise the dancer footage. We shot during winter and it got quite dark. I also used a speed booster quite a lot which probably helped keep the ISO down. I rarely went up to ISO 6400
What a humble man!
Been shooting a Nikon F3 since getting back into photography and am now at the point where I want to have a second camera on hand. I think you've just convinced me on the Canon EOS 300. Seems like an overqualified secondary camera, and really cheap with it not being particularly trendy, at the moment. It's funny how the best deals are with more modern cameras, that period just before digital took over. Thanks, man.
Thanks for review!!
Great vid. I appreciate that you shared the work to demonstrate the camera's features. Searching online for cameras can be a grind, just the images, video, and presentation were enjoyable, and I can see why you love the camera.
This was my first daily driver and had it for many years until it was lost in a suitcase. I started on film in a digital world and still have a collection of film cameras, even though my main is an EOS R now. The 300 was replaced with a 300v (one of the quickest autofocus system at the time) but I still have a spare 300 body. 300v is tackier but does have desirable upsides to the 300. In regard to focus issues, it's best to manually select your focus point and to get around the lack of points, focus on what you want then lock it and reframe. The focus also suffers in dark environments and if you don't have the AF assist light on, enable it. If not, it should fire during manual focus at night regardless. The 300 also has the most accurate and reliable metering I've ever used. Ironically it also takes nicer images than the EOS 300, but I've found almost workable workarounds to that.
I. just ordered mine and I'm waiting
Beautiful shots, i love this camera ruclips.net/video/GuXI5UBsyGE/видео.html
What a great video my friend. Loved the footage.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks for a super presentation, was thinking of getting the xt5 but I think the xt3 will give me what I need and as I can pick it up for half the price in as new condition i think that’s the way to go for me. Thanks.
Glad you found the video helpful, it's a solid camera and I'm still using it
Thank you for your thoughts! Nice editing as well
Hi! I have recently started getting into film cameras and got this as a gift. I’m not very good with understanding all the different types of film formats. What one should i buy for this camera?
This camera takes standard 35mm film
Thank you for the review!! This really helped :)
wow, fantastic video bro ... is it a way I can get the Luts you made?
Man this channel is pure gold! This video is awesome! Just got my Soonwell MT1, thanks for this!
Thank you so much!
Great review, thank you. The footage shown in here is stunning.
i guess i won't be getting this lens especially after watching this video
There are definitely much better options
@@Made_by_Matthew thanks
Dude that was a pleasure to watch your video, such a nice style. Can you please provide equipment you have or you would buy to cage the fuji xt-3? I’m planing to shoot handheld but amount of different part in caging just overwhelms me :D what would you buy for fuji xt-3 today? (Grips, monitor etc)
Glad you enjoyed the video! I had the old small rig cage. Personally I would recommend a cage, dovetail and either a small monitor or evf so that you can comfortably use the xt3 on a counter weighted shoulder rig as this will help the rolling shutter and make the handheld much better. Wouldn't worry about an external recorder since I mostly used the internal codec even when I did have the shogun
nice footage! what lenses do you use?
Most footage was shot using the Fuji 50mm F2 but I also used a sigma 24-105 f4, rokinin 85 and 35
Such a thorough review!
Wonderful video man! I recently got an xt3 myself as an upgrade to my A7s mark 1 haha. Best camera I've had so far. One question, Did your Fuji xt3 develop any dead or stuck pixels during the video when shooting F log? I'm in the process of returning mine back because there are several white pixels on the image and I can't deal with it. They are small but I've never encountered that on any other camera.
I haven't got any stuck pixels on my xt3 but I did get a pretty nasty red stuck pixel on my a7s thankfully only in photos
mine came with a dead pixel🥲 i just returned it though and i’m in the process of getting a completely new one sent to me:)
@@liamivarsson how to check it before I buy this camera (used) 😢 I even didn't know about dead pixel
