When Kudzu Beetles Attack! Yard Long Bean update
Просмотров 22День назад
July 15 2024 On July 8th I noticed a few of these small beetles on the vines of my beans. Now they have completely taken over and sadly I have not found a good way of getting rid of them. Unfortunately I may have to resort to non organic methods. This makes me very sad 😥

Highly recommend if you like a lot of small (average between 2-3 inches) cucumbers. They are delicious for fresh eating and also make amazing pickles.

    What are you boiling them in ?

      Believe it or not it is just water. No salt or anything else. When you boil several batches of these green beans it makes the water turn that pinkish color.

    This variety of Cucumber is actually in the melon family. 😊 So you can leave it on the vine and it will grow to nearly 3 ft long (this is, what I have researched, not from person experience yet) unlike most cucumbers that turn yellow and get bitter, this one does not do that. It ends up having the texture of honeydew melon with the faint flavor of Cucumber. But I have also been told that they are cruncher and better tasting before they get that big. Hope this answers your question. Thank you so much for watching!

      @@busterhymen2280 this variety is pretty small. They get about 5 inches long at their biggest before they start to turn yellow, by then they will be bitter. I try to pick them around 3 to 4 inches. Definitely by the time the stem end begins to yellow. They are great to eat fresh but also make amazing pickles!

    • @acroweinhergarden5892
      @acroweinhergarden5892 3 месяца назад

      Tomatoes love lots of air flow to prevent disease. I would say they need about a foot of space between each plant. This variety definitely needs to be supported with some sort of trellis. Even trellis netting would work since the vines are thin and wispy.
