This Is Why You Need 100 Oxen! | Latest Patch 0.8.004 [Part 9]
I noticed that warehouse workers will supply the market with clothes, as long as they have the clothes in stock, if they own a firewood stall. I used to limit the storehouse that owns the firewood marketplace stalls to just firewood and charcoal, but now i include all the clothes items as well, this way they will service the abandoned clothes stalls and the firewood stalls at the same time and no one has to waste any time peddling clothes on the marketplace. Just make sure the warehouse families own the firewood stalls not the clothes stalls...
It makes sense to have single burgages (with no extra family extention) for chickens and animal pens because you get double the amount of food from the same number of families and also double the amount of passive wealth, the tradeoff is, that you have double the amount of burgages to service at the marketplace ... and... the game might run smoother with less burgages late game... idk... game performance is definitely a consideration... but double food and double silver seems worth it to me if the game can handle the extra marketplace stalls... another thing i noticed is that burgages will produce food with no family living there... as long as you build an extention of course...
What is interesting about the oxen is that they sort of act like an additional family... in the way that if you assign an oxen to a building... let's a say a farmhouse... that oxen will work independently of the fact there is a family assigned to the building or not... the oxen will find a guide from somewhere and, in this case, they will plow the fields with no families assigned to the farmhouse, even if the farmhouse is disabled... This is also true of the sawpit and logging camp, etc, where they will fill the building with timber with no families assigned to the building. This can be super helpful early game when you are short on families, imagine the sawpit already full of logs before you assign a family to it, it is nice efficiency. The question is, where do they get the guide from? The guide has to come from somewhere, and usually the guide is a person from a family that is waiting around doing nothing at the moment. However, you might want that person to resume work on their task and not be guiding the ox... in which case you have to find them and reassign them to their workplace to reset the individual guiding that ox... also reassigning the ox might also do the trick. When the ox guide is an artisan it is not possible to reassign the family so you might have to assign a family to the stable that ox is assigned to or... you can also rally your troops... in which case all troop families will be reset and teleport to their homes... thereby resetting your artisan's task... all this is actually very efficient... until its not... lol... so maybe late game assigning families to stables makes sense if you have the extra families... its less efficient but at least you know who exactly is guiding the oxen... 🤔 now that i think about it... in theory... you could use corpse pits instead of assigning the families to stables.. that way they double as grave diggers when you need them and the rest of the time the oxen use those gravedigger families as ox guides...
When Apiariy workers take market stalls... if you want to unassign them really quickly from the market stall you can 1. Deselect the market stall toggle on the apiary 2. Reassign the family to the same building they were in already. This way they lose the market stall and it is the same family working the building. The only time this doesn't work is when the building is full of families... there has to be one open slot...
I see the treasury with same money. Maybe you forgot to restore the 1% of the tax in both regions. Also you haven t make fences to all the fields for the sheep. Another thing i do when i play is to deplete as soon i can all the non-rich resources. First to make room for other buildings, second i don t loose time time when i need them later in the game, third when you need quick cash for some reason you can always sell them right away and not wasting time to gather them in that time. And finally you can use them as an "exchange material" with another region to bring some needed resources. If you had already gathered the clay and iron in Walbrand, you would send them to the first region for some coal ect.
Honey is also not worth…
You have ~735 families from lvl2-3 houses (3-4 types of food are required) so they would eat 2250~2940 food unit monthly. That's why your ~600 apples disapear that fast. (food spoilage is only 1%)
Fertilization 7/7 in some of the fields.. thats Why you dont Get any yield. Versågod 😉
And the story keeps growing
At 21:10 How do you have 16 spearmen at the beginning of the game?
My mill is bugged hahaha.
Yes, this game has a good idea, and also the artistic appearance, but at the same time, many things are still missing. The first thing is that the Earth map is too small - and if I get a piece of land, it would be natural that I also get a small village, not a blank card, land map where the entire game is currently taking place is one square of a large map, if you take that big square and make more squares around it , like on a chessboard, which has a total of consists of 64 squares - 64 Maps more to have fun. It would be better ... and game fill look more bigger . The next thing that would make the game interesting and better is that if you move the army, then you also need equipment for that, both food and carts and animals, you can't go to great distances without equipment, ( it's funny to watch how men just run around the map and never rest or eat ) - Even if you go to new maps that I was talking about. Men have to make a tent and camp within a certain distance , and then move on, they have to find food even during the journey to a foreign land - if they not have equipment and cannot find food or hunt which is also natural for men to do when they are on the move - they die or get sick. And also if the army is too big, it is not enough to hunt .... and the risk is still too great to die of hunger if you do not loot a village or find enough food during the hunt to make your journey to battle and survive as well as get home. If they are not there, the men will die of hunger, or the worst winter will freeze them to death. if you don't have this extra equipment, your men won't get far and won't get home either because they didn't have enough equipment and skills to find food to survive the journey. That way you have to think more in the game, without me just clicking buttons and that's it. The next thing is when someone sends food, tables, gold, iron from one city to another, for this you also need equipment, and with larger shipments, you also need a military force to help deliver the shipment safely, because thieves can steal the entire shipment and to kill everything who carried the goods. The game also lacks the option to make a reconnaissance unit, which consists of about five or six men who go around the maps and collect information, make camps in deep forests and monitor nearby villages and war troops. And finally, I hope that these big stone fortresses and magnificent castles will also come. :))
Why not just a forester?
If you delete the disabled granary you get the resources from it... which is nice if you are starting on no supplies. But i think if you repair it you have to pay for it again... 🤔
This game needs a lot more polish, It's definitely one of the best of the genre, but you can get into the end game quite fast and then there's nothing else to be done besides maybe increase the population, I wish they had more things to be unlock, but yh it's still in development...
I was right it seems to put families in hitching posts. Now i think for better results, you must distribute the hitching posts to the whole region, where production is take place. Have at least a couple of manned hitching posts near production buildings and stop gather them all together away from where the "action" is. You can try first at the less populated farming region, or at the new region you colonize next to see if it's 100% true, before you use it globally.
You're struggling with food in your other region because you expanded your population too quickly. too many houses in just 1 year, and your food production can't keep up. To compensate that 500 population with honey, you need 20 apiaries. debuffs has no effect on default settings you can last forever in default even with just 1 type of food
Yes, next region!
More micromanaging the fields! 💪🌾
56:35 Honey is not a culprit here. We have lots of families, we need at least 3 more veggies and 3 more apple orchards (same size with the current one). Trust me bro.
Great videos, I really enjoy them all! I have a tip/question for you: why you don’t use reserves and production limits? They are really useful if you are trying to micromanage all the production lines. For example, you can have a 100 reserves of timber for the plank production, so you will always have 100 timber for construction. Keep up the good work, and congratulations for 1000 subscribers!🎉🍾
Though I’ve never put much effort into B’s I did find they work/produced when they was placed away from plots in more open areas.Farms and plots with veggies and apples wasn’t as much as a hindering factor as block houses seem to be(for me),,,looking to see how it turns out
oh really? That might be why mine aren't working good lol
they will prioritize the first market area you have placed until it's full before making stalls in other areas. honey is one of the best food that can be overproduced, like apples and veggies, and honey doesn't spoil like sausage. All stuff that is available to your region to trade that has no label "NA" will go to the nearest trading point, but all the stuff that you opened route that has label NA will come from random trading points all across the map.
Right! I'm excited to see how much honey we can get!
Maybe trade charcoal for ale and bread for meat with the donkey logistics?
sounds like a good exchange, but we don't have enough food in our first region yet. Defiantly something we would want to aim for!
let's assign "Strict Fasting" policy until you fix a food problem.
This is not a bad idéa, but i think honey and the bread that just came it will save the day! :)
Thank you for being so consistent. 🎉
thank you for supporting!! :)
Tip to widen the roads and look more natural by placing markets on the side of the road and delete it or build houses and delete it right away just to widen the roads. Its not that wide like your Viking roads but looks more natural just like the king's road.
amazing tip! This is a smart thing to do for late game when there is a lot more traffic!
I’d say helmets and chain mail (beyond what your army needs) is big cake,,,$$$$
right! Let's go for that!
Welcome to lvl3,,,warehouses will have max storage.Grairy will have 90% food spoilage reduction,,,my bad trying to say that a few episodes ago,,I blame the 🍺
I knew this even before my first video on this channel, i blame the ale too lool
Go for plate armor, grants a lot of money with 50 pieces on the same horseback.
That might be a good idea!
I was watching these last 3 episodes and when you mentioned my comments I was feeling like "Hey mom, I made it, I was on mentioned on RUclips!" :D :D thanks man that we can communicate with you, it makes it more interactive to watch your gameplay. Regarding that honey vs. apple points dilemma in Waldbrand (the second town) I think it is really up to you man, there is really no upper hand about this for one vs. the other. With Orchardry point, you can produce quite a lot of apples with just one house (so 1 - 3 families when you upgrade it) but apples have a high spoilage rate, whereas honey (if I remember correctly) does not have any spoilage at all, but you have to put much more people to beekeeping to produce a good amount of honey. So like really, both are good. Maybe Orchadry might be better since you could invest another point into Rye (to maximize bread production) and/or Droughts (but I am not sure if that one is worth it, you can get droughts from time to time or you might not, it is kinda interesting phenomenon), or you can actually even have both - apples and honey - once you increase the size of your village again and get more development points. But when it comes to Eichenhau (the main town), that is IMO definitely worth investing development points into helmets and chainmail, you can utilize your infinite amount of iron ore, sell those stuff (and upgrade your units), and buy different types of food for that (maybe you could even sell the iron ore itself later once you will overproduce it to get an extra boost). And you are right regarding those market stalls, it is still a wtf moment for me every time I see them build their stalls on the opposite side of the town, I do not understand how they choose the place for the stall :D I was thinking that maybe the best solution would be to build always the exact space for the given amount of market stalls? It kinda sounds crazy but if you think about it - you will always build some kind of blocks - production building, granary/storehouse, houses, dwell, and market stalls all together. So, if there is just an exact amount of free space for market stalls, they will stop building them elsewhere :D it is just crazy amount of work to do it :D Btw, if you remember that oxen dilemma, where we tried to assume that it could be possible to assign the nearest ox to the right building to reduce the time (but it did not work bcs it is impossible to assign oxens by themselves), would you think it is worth it to do it like - assign the ox to the building, check where the ox is stationed (like which hitching post) and move the hitching post closer to the building (and hope that ox wont run away :D :D )? Another thing that came to my mind was to try to experiment with assigning people to hitching posts directly but I do not know how would that help exactly. And regarding that money problem in Waldbrand, yeah that was just about importing sheeps :D But still, I think you should keep importing them (unless you would like to go with sheep breeding), I guess the problem there is simply because instead of selling beer, you are exporting it to your main town, so you are kinda cutting the money income, but that just temporary if you think about it. Once you improve the production of beer, you can start selling it as well so you should be golden. Or now when I think about it, you are also importing to Waldbrand quite a lot of charcoal, so, you could kinda sell it for now too to get some extra money if needed :D Also, sorry for this long comment man :D it is just cool to watch you, and I think other people really appreciate your videos too!
haha! I'm glad it made you happy! This is what it's all about! playing together! I love all the feed back and comments so keep them coming! :) I have a little idea for the oxen optimization! Will try hopefully try this in the next episode! :)
Get the helmet and trade it with your farming region and I think adding more farmhouse and fields on the farming region would be nice to produce even more food
I think that should be the way to go too!
Hello, Thanks again for this new vid. Can you check in your farming region in the commerce tab, if the charcoal Import really cost you something or not ? I'm not sure about direct commerce between region without having unlocked the commercial road is actually working. Specifically about price of selling or bying. Because if you sell at the market price and you buy also at the market price, I do not really the point. But again I'm a bit clueless about how this is actually working...
OK I think I had the answer later on on the video... does not work at all. You spend money this way. So only mules for "free" goods
I tried to check but it says non, but it also says we dont cost any more for food in the other region.... so the only way to see is to try again..
The best start? Getting the first new family in august is a terrible start. Love the content but the tittle sucks..
You don't win this game based how quick you get families though. Sometimes it's more to it imo. But I get your point :)
Awesome series. I learned a lot in terms of micromanaging things. A question: production management, can that be used for further improvement of efficiency? Example: production management set at 200 planks, trade set at selling everything above 150, work doesn’t stop and storage doesn’t get full. Not skilled enough to test it myself, YET. Keep up the good work.
This is something i haven't really thought about since i always try to keep producing. Maybe setting limits is better than getting more storage.. hmm.. Good question!! I'm glad you're enjoying the series, thanks for watching!! :)
I really appreciate your efforts. The detail is great. I already know most of the things in these videos. Didnt know that you could move market stalls till i saw you do it. I like that u kept playing with minimal editing. And the videos are being output quickly. Keep up the good work brother!
Love the feed back!! Thank you! Less edited videos defiantly means more videos!! :)
Thank you this acctully helped me all my woodcutters where full of storage now there not 😉
I'm glad it helped! :)
Except all that food, you should buy a few hundred cloaks also to solve the lacking and variety of clothing. Or use the berries only for dye to make some of your own. Berries are not enough for eating any more.
This is a great suggestion! Why didn't i think about this before?! Thank you!!
Thanks for this new vid! Love this series ! Could you please explain a bit more how does work the trade between regions ? (not talking about the goods exchanges) Is there any discount on the prices compared to the normal way of being or selling goods ?
To be honest that something I myself is trying to figure out lol we will try more with this in the coming episodes!
Love the videos, Can you do a series on building affective Armies quickly? I am always unprepared for Bandits and invasions. Everything gets burned to the ground or the entire map conquered. Thank you!
Thank you! And thank you for joining the Shieldwall!! 🛡 I'm planing a new members series. I can do a "speed run" there. Trying to take the whole map asap. Any suggestions for a specific starting region or starting resources you would like me to start the play through it?
@@GamingNorse I like the challenge of not knowing recourses and trying to make every region work. Lately I have had deep mines of iron and clay and little food. but happy to see any resources. I wish that there was a way to have a barracks in this game. a soldier training section. perhaps in another update. Thanks again! Loving this game so much! Cheers!
@@853OKG Okay! Then I will just load in to a game and take it from there. Will try to start the new series this weekend! Barracks would be awesome, and defiantly someting that could be added! Super excited for new updates!
