Knifing Turns on a 60 Degree Slope (No-Fall Zone) | Jackson Hole Legendary Lines
My favorite line of all time! The fin on Once is Enough Couloir. This is the steepest entrance to a ski line I've ever done, and requires full commitment right from the get go. I couldn't have possibly got it in better conditions. The only thing that didn't go exactly according to plan was getting completely blinded right before the first air of the double-out. In a moment, I decided to proceed with the line without vision, and trust my prior visualizations, and I came out of the cloud with just enough time to spot my landing and stomp.
Skiing out around the giant slough cloud was pretty surreal as well. All in all, the experience was so incredible, I couldn't help but get a little sentime...

Skiing a Sheer Cliff Face | Jackson Hole Legendary Lines
Просмотров 89 тыс.7 месяцев назад
A first ski decent in the Jackson Hole sidecountry. Corah's Couloir is less-so a couloir and more-so a patch of snow on a sheer cliff face. The video shows how Darrell Miller concocted this messed up line, snowboarded it and then put the idea in Teton's head. Teton set a goal to ski it as fast as possible. Despite the technical crux move, he managed to get in and out in 20 seconds. Cinematograp...

Funny, I actually did on the next lap. Hit some snow that was icier than the rest and couldn't stop. The footage will be released in my film project but I'll tell you it wasn't pretty. Lessons were learned 😅

@@teton_brownYikes! It can happen very quickly, even to the best of us. I’m NSP ski patrol in Tahoe and we’ve had some in-resort deaths in conditions like this. Last year, dude went past a closed sign, lost an edge, and slide 1600 ft down icy moguls. Airlifted out, but died a few days later in the hospital. I recently also hit some ice and slid into rocks. Fortunately, no injury and just a gouge on my ski. Not fun and definitely shakes one’s confidence. Odd thing is: to perform at a high level, you can’t have these things come into your head. But, with some planning, you can mitigate some risks, clear your mind, and then get after it! Enjoy!
