But in this video I will show you how to seal your Airstream roof with some Dicor products and show you some progress we've made in other areas.

very interesting video. I just purchased a 2022 F150 Powerboost with the 7.2 Kwh generator. Got the truck with only about 20,000 miles. on it. Chap that had it was getting a bigger trailer and upgraded to a 2500 diesel. Looking forward to some boondocking now. Have been towing with a 2015 F150 Ecoboost, so I know the truck handles my trailer very well, so now with a much newer and lower mileage truck I should be good to go for years to come. thanks for the excellent review....and continued safe travels.

Thanks for making the video. My vent leaked when in storage and caused enough damage to require the back 1/3 of the floor needing replacement. The foam that is inside the smoke cover is very poor and rots out quickly. I put EPDM rubber inside there and it's been holding up well. However, just last fall, for the first time in several years, I found water dripping onto the handle and floor. We were in Florida for a month and with every rain it would drip into the bin on the floor. I've not been able to tell where mine is leaking from but I suspect the area under the base. On the outside I don't see any lap sealant but I don't see any cracks in whatever that is there now either. I decided to pull the entire thing out and replace it, a task for warmer weather. For now I have a plastic bin to catch the water. Again, thanks for taking the time to make the video.

We want the PB with the 5.0 but can't find any used in the 21-23 range. It seems few owners are selling thiers. Also, Ford if your listening, some of your Ford F150 buyers would like to have the Ford F250-350 HUD display on the next model year. I saw it and really liked the option.

    • @JonBecker81

There aren’t any PBs with the 5.0. They’re all 3.5s. I do think you can get a onboard power option for 2kw with a 5.0 but you can only get the full 7.2 kw with they hybrid 3.5.

Old video I know... I'm not so interested in gas used. What I would have liked to know is the frequency of engine run. At 2000 watts I imagine your truck restarted every 5-10 minutes to recharge the battery. Just running a 1500 watt space heater my truck ran recharged every 9 minutes. I'm a bit disappointed in the battery capacity. It is effectively only a 400-500 way battery. Pretty darn small.

It costs a hell of a lot less than an Ultra-Quiet 7000i ES Honda generator. 😊 It is by far the best generator value anywhere for its capability…and that Honda cannot run continuous at 7000w either it can only do 5500w and 6.5 hours at max continuous output. So, I reject your premise 😜😂

So the 120 v male end of a regular extension cord goes into the truck and the female end of the 120 v extension cord goes into the male end of the 14 30P to TT30 R adaptor . Then the female end of the adaptor goes into the trailer? my Smart Plug is 50 amp on the trailer. so would this work for me? thanks

Great, I’m glad it helped! As far as drilling the new holes, we used a cordless drill. The wood to metal screws also help so try to find the screws I mentioned in the video or something similar 😀

Can you run the generator mode while driving? For example, keep the fridge running and a/c on while driving to your campsite?

      @GoranandJen Год назад

Hello! We think so. Goran has a plan to run a line from the generator into the trailer so that we can do that but he has yet to install it. We will definitely post a video about it once we run our experiment.😀

What about the ground fault detected during test of pro power boost electrical circuit? They saying it's normal? Did U guys get software updates yet? Now they daying software updates by Sept 2023. They trying to fix that issue for about 2 years now. Pls respond asap so I don't take my new truck back to the dealer. Thanks.

Hello! We haven’t experienced a ground fault. But, we also haven’t used the pro power yet this year so we will have to see if a software update messed it up. It has worked fine for us. We have run into an issue where the dealership can’t get our BlueCruise to work. They still can’t get that to work and it’s been 2 years. Ford has some serious problems with their software for sure.

I get a "Pro Power onboard detected a gound fault" error every time I try and power my 2022 Grand Design 21G with my 2023 Power Boost… meanwhile I see video after video of people using it just fine with their RV. Very frustrating.

That would be super frustrating! I would take it to the dealership (if you haven’t already 😀). We have an issue with our 2021, we can’t seem to get the BlueCruise to work. Dealership has worked on it several times to no avail. Frustrating because we paid for the feature up front and every time they try to “fix” it, they erase all of our data so we have to reprogram everything.

Thanks so much for this detailed video. Most helpful one on RUclips that I’ve found. Any more insights clearing the wood from the c-channel? How long did it take with the multi tool? I’m having a hell of a time and wondering if cutting the bolts and then replacing as I go might make things quicker and less soul crushing. Lol Thanks!

Hello and I’m glad the video helped! I feel you on the soul crushing task of removing the wood from the C-channel, it took us forever to figure out. On our Airstream, a lot of the wood that was in the C channel was wet and very rotted so it was easy to get out. But, there were sections that were not in such bad shape and they took much longer to remove even with the multitool. Goran says he spent about 10 hours total working on it. One tip is to think of the piece of plywood like a layer cake. “Eat” or gouge out the middle layer first and the rest of the wood will fall out more easily. Hope this helps!!

Thanks for the reply. “Soul crushing” indeed. 😂 making some better progress with the multi tool. Makes me feel somewhat less crushed knowing it just a royal pain in the a**. Thanks again for the video.

I’m now following this channel to I have an airstream myself 30 foot classic 2004 I’m impressed in the work that you’re putting in yours. I need to get four new tires two new batteries I need to do some caulking I wish I either had more energy or more time in the day. My husband doesn’t share my enthusiasm for camping like I do he’s from Chicago Glen Ellyn. I bought a new tent this year. I’m ready to do some backyard camping. Ps hope the little ones are doing good my brother has twins but they’re in their 30s now. Hope you have a good week and happy camping.

Sweet! Renovating an Airstream is a lot of work, we’re heading into year 3 LOL. It’s taken a bit longer because the twins have taken up most of our time, but now that they’re a bit bigger we can get back to work :)

Thank you for this very helpful. I found a leak and it was repaired at a rv shop but we didn’t realize the damage under linoleum. So now I have cut out rotten wood. Question - could I just just plywood to fit this hole and screw down? Therefore not removing all the wood under the metal shell! It seems tough to get out. Any advice appreciated

Hello! I think you could get away with putting some plywood to fit the hole and screwing it down if the hole isn’t that big. You can send a pic over to our email at goranandjen@gmail.com and we can take a look if you like!
