Are you referring income tax only. The marginal rate of tax is not 35%. How is it then collection is 35%. Also agricultural income is not taxed which is good part of GDP. Pl clarify

A curiosity question....out of Total Taxes for India, how much is collected as GST & How much as Income Tax & how much any other tax? Also How much may be Govt Employee % in collection of those i.e how many Govt employee work for GST collection & how many for Income tax Whether it still makes sense for income tax to collect if only 7 Cr people contribute vs almost 80% people paying GST is the reason behind this question

if there is GDP growth but income tax slabs are not adjusted as per inflation, income tax collection will increase. It docent mean there more taxpayers have now come under tax bracket but more taxes are collected from existing taxpayers.

Am I being stupid, or is Viral's comment about leverage quite flawed? If I am borrowing at 10% (borrowing cost is usually going to be higher), and the rental yield is 6.5% or 7%, I am definitely losing (unless I am GUARANTEED to see a value appreciation on the underlying property of say 5% annually)? If for any reason the property value does not increase, this becomes a deadbeat investment.

What is the issue even if some one is under performing to underlying benchmark by 3-4 percent....he is still making 12-14 percent easily....without chillam chilli of soccalled wealth managers........amd who is even doing ethical based financial planning here....they all get backed by certain AMCs and they promote thise fund houses or funds only...

How to avoid missold insurance policy? Have a good /ethical financial planner/advisor, ask him/her questions your life would be alot of easier finances side if you have a good financial advisor. Also most of the policies are missold from banks side. Yes there are agents who are doing it but not at the level banks are doing.
