You’ve heard correctly. I made a blanket for a friend (even going down a size on the hook for a more snug stitch) and there are some ends that come loose. He has put it in the washer though, and it held up, but velvet yarn is so delicate it’s a risky endeavor to put it in there. Ultimately it’s up to you. For adults velvet may work fine, but with how much babies love their blankets it might unravel a little quicker

Sometimes I weigh them down under a heavy book or use a smaller size crochet hook for tighter stitches. You can also try blocking them 🤩

@@stephanieharper2867 lol I’d consider that a win! For the yarn, I always go with “I love this yarn!” At hobby lobby. It’s so soft and idk what they do but compared to other brands I’ve found it holds the shape so much better! Plus they have sales on their yarn pretty often 🙌🏻

Idk what it’s called but I’ll share what I did! With an odd number of chains, the first row is entirely sc. the next row, ch 2, then on the 3rd st make a dc. After that dc, make another one on the 2nd st. Next you skip one, dc, then go back and work a dc into the st you skipped. You’re essentially skipping one then working backwards which gives a twist effect that looks really nice. I so hope this makes sense!! 💚🧶
