Electirc/flying is interesting to me because it's one of those typings that are just objectively better than another, in this case mono flying. Well unless you're fighting zygarde, or your oponent is a maniac using Smack down and a ground type move

Emolga is on my team of favorites that I'm trying to beat Black 2 with, and while everyone else struggles a bit due to lacking evolutionary bonuses in stats, Emolga is consistently hard sweeping Marshall's team with Acrobatics while I'm struggling to perform long maths and battle AI analysis (plural) against the other members (minus maybe Grimsley because Riolu still hits like a truck even unevolved). Acrobatics is just, insane in general lmao. Forget the Victini pfp, Emolga is my favorite Pokemon of them all. What Oshawott was representing visually, Emolga does mechanically, being a cute face that can still be extremely cool by being able to stand on its own in combat without breaking a sweat (well, if you apply the age old Paper Mario strategy of "it can't kill me if I kill them first").

I always have it on my Unova teams. Specifically though, I use the trade one (Minipete) that you get by trading it for a Boldore. Best in game trade Pokémon ever I swear

People tend to sleep how good are Ice types in Unova, they basically have good matchups for the later half of the game, including hitting hard on Skyla, resisting Brycen´s stab and being supereffective on Drayden/Iris, their worst part would be on the E4, with Shauntal´s Chandelure, Grimsley´s Scrafty and Bisharp and the entirety of Marshal

Frillish and Jellicent are counterparts to Tentacool and Tentacruel because they are dual water types that can be found in basically every body of water.

Vanilluxe is my most favourite Ice-type pokemon besides Weavile, and never forget Waffles the Vanilluxe from my Black playthrough. Ice-cream guy ftw🍦🍦

Honestly, the only bad thing about the Vanillite line is that their shinies aren't chocolate ice cream and Vanilluxe is like one half chooclate and the other strawberry or something. Like c'mon it was so easy...

Unova definitely was the first region that actually gave some respect to bug types. All the designs are cool and are decent overall for a playthrough. I still remember playing the game and finding a random shiny joltik and evolve it into a shiny galvantula. I even remember that I used a net ball to catch it. The vast majority of pokemon in this list also have amazing shinies.

My favorite out of all them is the Winter form Sawsbuck. Looks cool yet i feel it deserved much more.

I used one years ago on a Black 2 run and surprisingly it's quite good when it comes to it's Special Attack with moves such as Ice Beam/Blizzard and Flash Cannon for coverage

Vanillin’s is a super fun pokemon for the fact that ice types ate usually past the sixth gym so it is cool you can catch it with four badges. I also think the three stage line ends up pretty powerful. The main issue I think is the evolution levels. I would reduce them both by at least five. I always find my vanillish to be a bit to weak by the end and it tends to drag. And the truth is that most of your time spent with the line will be that middle stage. A lowered evolution level could help or a general stat buff would help

You know who I like? Cryogonal. It's always about Beartic and the ice cream, no one ever talks about Cryogonal.

Given it is one of the few ice types you can use (and is the earliest one by far), it pretty useful for many fights in the game, particularly for 3 of the 4 gyms you fight after you obtain it.

I'd rather have the interesting Vanillite (and Trubbish) than the generic "cool" ones like Lucario

For me the design of a pokemon goes a long way in me liking it, but more important is the gameplay experience and memories I had for it. I missed catching or using Vanillite in my BW playthroughs. James Turner designed this fella and I love his designs. After learning that it is icicle fellas with snow covered made me like it a bit more but the final piece of info that made me appreciate it more is that it is designed to look like a food business chain mascot

Unfortunately, Umbreon's Gen 2 sprite already has 4 colors (black, dark gray, yellow, white), which is the maximum, so I don't think you could make its eye red unless you remove the white hightlight.

Honestly, I never saw the problem with Vanillite. Even as a kid, i thought it was pretty cute, and it's really strong, especially against the big threats of the game. Vanilluxe gang forever.

i used a vanillite recently but i ended up subbing it out for cryogonal because it had more coverage moves and i wasn't running a flying type so the levitate was a huge boon.

Hmm 🤔. I don't know if I want Vanilluxe on my team. Not everyone wants or not surely I want an Ice Cream Pokémon on my side until Level 47 at least. I'll try to think about that and either let it add on to my team or not at all. Vanilluxe is Genwunners' (nostalgic ones) most hated Pokemon after it was released during the day Pokémon Black and White came out.

Hello, casual player here who used a Vanillite on their first and only Pokemon Black playthrough. While I don't think it's bad and I'd say you should still give it a try, I don't think it's a _great_ choice, which is sad considering it was the earliest avaiable Ice type for a while. It's just that the first stage is too weak to use against Clay _(and even then two of his Pokemon are neutral to Ice so it's not as good of a matchup as you'd think at first)_ and Vanillish doesn't get Ice Beam until _1_ level after Skyla. It's not _super_ useful in the League either. Still, the lack of an Ice Beam TM before postgame _(there's only Blizzard which not everyone might like due to its subpar accuracy)_ means Ice types are a bit more desirable than usual, as you can no longer just slap Ice Beam onto any random Water type and get mostly better results. Didn't stop me from benching it in favor of Mamoswine in the postgame though. 😅It was nice and cute when it lasted, at least. I guess I just expected better.
